they're very articulated 3" do-it-yourself action figures that were designed to be a geek's canvas. great stuff, and relatively inexpensive.
they were originally only available in what is known as "alpha military male". totally black plastic with lots of military-themed accessories. then came the green and tan versions along with "alpha male samurai warrior", "alpha male firefighter" and "omega knight with stallion", all having more or less the same core bodytype.
later this year we should see some more variation...
"delta boy extreme" a skateboarder, "mechana segmented robot", "dragon with beta female rider", "alpha k-9 police unit", and supposedly two more secret sets that may be revealed between now and april.

I prefer doing my own customs either original sculpts or with molds and plastic.
Plus, no offense, but, I think they look kinda stupid and kubrick-like.
I can't stand legos and kubricks!
Sorry.

i honestly don't think $10 is unreasonable.I have to agree with Thorr. They are too expensive even at $10.

anyhow, i'll have to say that i totally dig kubricks, minimates, and similarly-themed "blocky" figures. i'm not all about legos, though. gotta side with you there.

plus, the body type isn't similar enough. i suppose with the chainsaw you could make one badass ash, but i'm not sure how much use you'd get out of the rest of the accessories.
they really ought to just sell an "accessories" set, don't you think?

got boring.
i have to agree with godbeast... being one who sculpts, i'd rather spend that $10 on a brick of clay.

it's actually pretty sweet. the face/head is pretty dead-on. i'll be sure to post a link for pics when i get him all worked out. right now i'm still trying to figure out how i'm going to arrange the waist armors, how i'm going to make the knee armors, seeing as the ones from the rubber toy/candy fig are way too large, and how i want to treat the feet. after i get all that straightened out, i'll just have to put a couple of coats of white paint on most of his lower body, put on some minimal paneling detail, and some minor chop-chop work on one of the standard stikfa guns to make it look like a beam rifle.
but maybe i'll do lupin sometime in the future. the proportions are pretty conducive to his bodytype...
