Whoa, those are really groovy. I don't know anything about them, but I could do some searches on google.jp and see if I can find anything.

thanks to Gilgar pointing me in the right direction, I managed to pick these up, thanks Gilgar :) I'll post pics when they arrive.

Also I found an old picture on my computer from another YJP auction, the seller didn't know where this figure came from:

Very cool, never seen metal Kinkeshi before, it'd be cool to have a few in my collection.

Would they still be considered Kinkeshi even though they are made of metal?

they can be other plastics than rubber so why not metal, like a wood in golf can be metal...

I guess not, since the keshi refers to them being rubber. But, I think kinkeshi lets us all know what you're refering too.

yeah thats what i ment, keshi means rubber but loads of the little rubber guys are made from plastic or vinal or summing else. isnt keshi rubber as in the english word rubber, its eraser in american. keshi dont have to be rubber and they dont have have to be working erasers so why cant they be metal...

Definitely see what you mean, Keshi seems to refer more to the style of figure (small and unarticulated) rather than just the material.

Actually, in the past five years and mostly thanks to this board, Keshi has become an english synonym for any nonarticulated or simiarticulated figure in the half-inch to two inch scale. Check Wikipedia's Keshi listing and article called "Keshi."

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Spotted the metal rubiks cube guy again (he pops up every once in awhile) but this time with two of his buddies on YJP. they look more crude than the brass looking ones that fitz picked up but considering I've seen the rubics cube guy 5 or 6 times now its likely some kind of limited run though they could conceivable be custom pieces too.

finally got a clue as to the origin of at least one of the metal figures. This was on Yahoo Japan today so either these 3 lesser quality metal ones are being cut out of rubber balls or someone has made their own rubber ball and put the metal figure in it?

surely the figure came before the ball?? :D I think the rubber ball poses more questions than it answers... ^_^
