The Spinning Head ashura man there have only been 2 seen in M.u.s.c.l.e plastic, in kinkishi form they are comon, not super easy to get, youll still have to pay some money, but you wont pay anywear near the price
The Black hole sunshine there have been two seen, same schitic
The "drunkin master" there is only one in existance, ask phillymadison to talk about it since he has the bragging rights

But thats it in a nut shell and I am only reguratating whats easily found either at MPS, Nate's site, here, and all the fun lovin muscle fan sites.

There are now four known Spinning Head Ashuraman figures. I own one, El Midgetron (JShurt) owns one, another person who won one a long time ago off ebay with whom we have lost contact with owns one, and Philly Madison owns on that is missing it's head.thanks sniper

There are two known Blackhole Sunshine figures. Damon and myself own one of each and it is speculated that there are of course more of these along with the others out there.
Philly owns the only known Drunken Master figure. He got it in a lot off ebay that had a crappy picture and passed right by us. He was the lucky winning bidder. We believe there to be more of these too.
It is also very likely that more molds of other Supere Rares exist and are waiting to be found. Only time and patience will tell.

Thanks Sniper.
It is speculated too that a Magenta Claw exists, which would complete the quest for a figure in every color. No one has ever seen one, but this was also the case with the Purple Claw until two popped up on ebay a while back. We shall see if there is a Magenta one day, hopefully.

Well, like Satancross, #153 #189 and #195 are probably almost as hard to find. I think they pop up just as much as Satancross, maybe slightly more common than the Satancross figure. I think it is possible that they were of lesser numbers than the rest, which could be why we see less of them, but I still think Satancross is more rare than #153 #189 and #195. I have seen far more of #153 #189 and #195 in packaging like the 4-Pack, but only two or three Satancross 4-Packs...EVER. Satancross apears to be more rare to me than the other three and these three are definitely harder to come by than the other normal figures, but that's from my own personal observations.thanks for the info, folks. its definitely appreciated. aforbes- as a serious collector and an authority on the subject, could you please pontificate on the rarity of 153, 189, 195 and satancross in relation to the average muscle figure? do you think they are just more popular (as max powers has speculated) or do you think they were actually printed in fewer numbers? as im sure youve dealt with thousands of muscles and purchased many large lots, any personal anecdotes, theories or observations are welcome.
As far as the Super Rares go, (Spinning Head Ashuraman, Blackhole Sunshine, and Drunken Master) none have ever been seen in packaging. The day that happens will be confirmation of their legitimacy as true M.U.S.C.L.E. figures...not to mention a bidding war like no other on ebay from members of the M.U.S.C.L.E. community!

A MUSCLE's "rarity" is primarily attributable to the demands and perceptions of collectors. The Hand (#153), Spinning Top Sunshine (#195) and Meat (#60, #189) are usually some of the more popular MUSCLEs, so more collectors want them. Additionally, Satan Cross isn't on the poster, so collectors assume he's rare. The people who own these perceived "rare" MUSCLEs aren't willing to part with them. Even though they were all most likely produced in the same (or greater) quantity as other MUSCLEs, there's less of them in circulation and a greater demand for them... and so, collectors view these figures as "rare".
When I first started collecting MUSCLEs about 6 years ago, I saw little difference in the availability of the "rares" like 153, 195, and 189. When more collectors started showing up, they started hoarding these figures, and they started getting "rare". I still see these figures in Ebay auctions in relatively good frequency, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem buying them. But trading for them may be somewhat troublesome...

Of course the one I posted is just a regular Kinnikuman and NOT the M.U.S.C.L.E. version.

That is true, I also see many more of #153 than #195 or #189. The Claw tends to pop up a lot more in auctions.I'd have to say that I think 153, although a very popular sculpt, is not as uncommonly found as 195 or 189.

It's not only because of the plastic rigidness, but because the plastic is EXACTLY the same as M.U.S.C.L.E. plastic. Even the smell is the same. THe color also matches exactly. I own two Super Rares, Blackhole Sunshine and Spinning Head Ashuraman, and trust me, they are 100% real M.U.S.C.L.E., no doubt in my mind. Now whether they originated here in the U.S. or not, possibly Canada or Latin America, is a different story and a mystery we have been trying to solve for quite some time.I'm new here, so please forgive my ignorance. I was just curious why people assume that Blackhole Sunshine, Drunken Master, Satan Cross, Spinning head Ashuraman, etc. are American M.U.S.C.L.E. and not Kinkeshi. Is it due to the rigidness of the plastic? Thanks for the help.
