I recently saw a post on boingboing about the game Warcraft being "finger-ingested crack." Well, if that's the case, then Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is finger-ingested nicotine. The game is that addicting!

"Puzzle Quest is the most brazenly addictive puzzle game we've played in a long time."

Puzzle Quest is a simple (but not too simple) fantasy RPG that uses a Bejeweled-style puzzle element for combat. There are other strategic elements to combat as well, such the ability to cast MtG-type spells that require various combos of mana. You can read a more-detailed description at its Wiki page. I have the game for DS, and I simply love it. It's great for playing in short bursts in between other activities, but also great to just sit down and play for an hour or so.

There's also a follow-up game coming down the pike called: Puzzle Quest: Qalatrix. It uses the same structure as Warlords, but the world and story will have more depth. I find the story world of Galatric to be quite intriguing, something I've never found myself saying about a video game:

The story (if you really need one) is set in the far-distant future, after mankind has colonized the stars. Four gigantic megacorporations are now running the galactic show, and one of them has gotten a little too big for its collective britches by conducting some unknown experiments that will potentially have dire consequences for mankind. If all this sounds a little vague, it's because D3 reps wouldn't go into specifics on the storyline (or most aspects of Galactrix, actually). We do know you'll play as a novice pilot who will become more skilled and powerful as you get closer to discovering, as well as vanquishing, the secret of the nefarious experiments.

Yea, this game is mighty epic and addictive as hell. I got it for PSP way back when it first came out about a year ago and played it to death and then got my girl hooked on it and she's been loving it ever since. Awesome to hear about a sequel as my only disappointment with the game was when it was over

oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!! i love this game!! i downladed it a while ago for my ds (using the M3 simply pirate thingy) and played it for hours!! only bad side is once you have finished the story mode, got all the runes to get the best weopons and beat lord bane it becomes boring. At level 50 you can beat almost anything just by using spells, once you learn them that is! also the mounts arent that great, there are only a few. Is the PSP version identical?
