What is absolutely the most stupid thing you've ever done as it relates to toys? This could be selling/not selling something, buying/not buying something, or wrecking something. Any stupid thing from your past you can come up with. ;)

Here's one of mine that drove me to start this topic. One day as a kid, my brother and I each got a Transformer. He got Tentakill from the Seacons group, and I got Rippersnapper from the Terrorcons group. I didn't like Rippersnapper's stubby arms, and my brother had some problem with Tentakill so we traded. It's hard to look back and say how long it took but it was probably the better part of a year before we had both completed our sets. I played with Piranacon an insane amount. It was the only combiner I'd ever had and to me that was the coolest thing. Fast forward a couple of years, and my family was having a garage sale. For a reason I still can't figure out, I put all six Seacons, with all their weapons included, into a box and sold it for ten bucks. I don't remember what I did with the ten dollars but I know I couldn't have gotten enough out of it to warrant selling Piranacon. I kick myself to this day for that. ;)

Well everyone has the I acidentally broke it because it was stiff, or it broke because of packing etc...

I can only think of the most painfull thing that happened with me with toys, which was pretty dumb. When I was REALLY little (about 6) I used to play with my GI joes, G.U.T.S. et-al all over the floor. But I would also use the plastic swords and umbrellas (appatizer toothpics) because they worked with them sooo well. One day I steped on one and it broke in my big toe. Nice! ;) It took a long time to get it out cuz It dug in deep and broke in my toe not out. So i wrecked a 'toy' and hurt myself. Its not exactly what your asking for, but its my dumbest toy related thing Ive done atht I can remember off hand.

I dont have anything Ive sold when I was little because I always liked toys. I would snatch the good deals off the ignorant kids like trade marshmellows for a mini transformer, I still remember who I got it off of and still have the toy, A mini green tank about the size of a muscle. I also kinda wihs I got something on ebay, but its no biggie.

Not buying Spawn III. I waited for it to come out, I even saw it in the store, but for some odd reason, I never bought it. He's such a cool looking toy. I wish I had him right now.

I used to have the Trendmasters Ultimate Godzilla from the 1998 movie. It was a freakin' awesome toy! It was huge: about 18" tall and 24" long, and came with people-swallowing action and roaring sound effects. Although the movie was woeful for the most part, the monster was pretty cool looking and this toy truly was the Ultimate Godzilla!

One year around Christmas time, when I was shaving down my toy collection by donating it to Toys For Tots, I decided in a bout of utter stupidity to donate Ultimate Godzilla. It was, after all, one of my largest toys, and donating it would free up some much-needed space.

I regretted donating it afterwards, but I was comforted by the fact that at least a kid would get to play with the coolest Godzilla ever!

Unfortunately, Toys For Tots was robbed that year, with some scum-licking a-holes making off with all the toys. So basically I donated about a fourth of my toy collection (including my beloved Ultimate Godzilla) for absolutely nothing! GOD DAMN IT!!! It was like rubbing salt in the wound! I hope they found those dungballs and put them to death...

Anyway, I've been searching for that Godzilla for a while now, but it's very difficult to track down, even on Ebay. Anybody got any leads?

How low do you have to be to rob a Toys For Tots? And at Christmas time? What did they do to celebrate afterward, rape their own grandmothers?

when i visited some friends in iowa a long while back (was it 96', 97'?) i bought a re-paint version of "zombie spawn" and i totally forgot it there. then i lost contact with those friends that i had visited.

the thing is, when i had opened the package, i realized that the arm was broken at the elbow, so i spent a few hours re-working it to a decent, manageable state, and then just lost the dang thing.

i felt smart. haw.

One of my dumbest mistakes... many, actually. I passed up basically every single cool Beast Wars figure that I ever saw in the store. Some, like Claw Jaw and Powerpinch, were a bit disappointing, but no huge loss. But I passed up Tripredacus Agent, Terrosaur (Transmetal), and nearly every Fuzor! Very sad.

There's some other big stupid mistakes, but I've gotta go; maybe I'll post it all later.

Getting rid of my Optimus Prime cause of the paint condition of him, ugh to me that is my dumbest thing of all time, next to breaking the barrel on my Megatron but heard that story alot, wish I knew what happened to him though since I found all the attachment pieces and his chestplate only. Spooky. I really regrett getting rid of prime (still have the trailer but it was Prime himself)

Now an up to date dumb thing was when vaccuming my room a year ago (well coulda be earlier this year, I forget) I had one of my Seekers landing geer wheels on the edge of my computer desk, well I stopped to move my chair and what do I hear something getting sucked up into the vaccum and then getting grinded up, now either my Thrust or Ramjat can't be turned into jet form because nothing to hold the front end up.

-_-

You see... that's why I hang on to everything, even if it's broken!

One dumb decision... not bringing my gift certificate that day I saw the Swedish Chef action figure playset.... damn... can't find it!

2 Sometimes I over pay for used PVC's and Happy Meal toys...

3) I found perfectly good Monsters Inc. Happy Meal toys (the Yeti and Randal) in a candy store and gave it to the counter because some dumb kid lost it... and where was my good Karmatic reward?

4) Not being interrested much in M.u.s.c.l.e.s. as a kid! I am soooooo stoopit!!!!

5) Not buying the ren and Stimpy action figures or Eek the cat plush when they went on sale

And the worst... Opening my Nightmare before christmas toys and practically breaking them... If someone told me they'd be worth like 200 bucks, I would have bought more and put them in a safty deposit box at the Bank!!!

Ow. How dare you force me to bring up such painful memories? B)

No, but really. This story starts out happily enough, I got an excellent Shockwave off of eBay for $30 ($30!!), his electronics worked (save for his lights), he had his battery cover, but he was missing his gun barrel. I had him for about a month, then one day he took a dreadful fall off the side of a cupboard--resulting in a really weird breakage.

The screw tubes holding his body together broke.

So, his chest became unattached to his back and his head fell off as a result. Well, I managed to do some extremely harrowing surgery and fixed the screw tubes (his head went on fine). Then I took him to an art class with me, where he took another fall, this time an even longer one. Not only did the screw tubes break all over again, but his arm cannon also broke off and dissapeared. I never found it. Now he sits, headless again, at the bottom of my "junk" Transformers bin.

If anyone wants him, I'll trade him for MUSCLEs! B)

When I was a little kid I had a little star wars Jawa figure with the plastic robe (the one that is very rare and worth thousands of dollars in mint). Well I hated his robe so I threw it out. I lost hundreds of dollars by throwing out a crappy piece of plastic. :p

Mine would have ot be the same thing that happens even now. I would refuse to buy a toy when I see it, and then when I decide I want it, its no where to be found.

Spending years collecting the major lines like Star Wars, Transformers, He-Man, and Turtles - and then selling them with a few figures left to go.

Not writing the word "each."
During a garage sale in 1988 I had a glass piture filled with 98 GI Joe figures and a price tag of 75 cents. I went into the house for one minute and when I came out my mom had sold the entire piture full and handed me 3 quarters. And I gave away my entire Star Wars collection (which was huge) because by then no one cared about Star Wars anymore. In fact, during that garage sale I got rid of near complete collections of Masters of the Universe, GI Joe, Transformers, Star Wars and much more. My profit at the end of the day was around $100.

1. Selling my Gnaw Transformer at a yardsale.

2. Selling my Huge GiJoe Base stations at the fleamarket.

3. Selling my Childhood muscles at the fleamarket.

4. Selling half of my childhood Heman figs including Scareglow at the fleamarket.

5. Chewed up the plastic parts of my brothers Voltron when I was teething.

6. Traded my brother all my bad guy Ninja Turtles for his Goodguy Ninja Turtles.

7. Let my entire Food Fighters collection stay in storage until they were Worthless.

8. Lost my Wolverine Cyborg Alberts arms at a friends house. (detachable arm)

9. Got a water squirting Sentinel toy from the xmen water wars line, and got excited while playing with him, then my parents called me from the other room, and when I was running back in a hurry to enjoy my new toy I tripped on my carpet and fell. I had one of those metal shop fans and I fell on the top of the leg that had a sharp point on it and it stabbed me in the back of my leg.

10. Broke my Mekanek figures arm socket off while trying to remove the arm.

11. Left my Ram Chariot on the floor and my brother stepped on it and broke it.

12. Passing up that bag full of Super Rares the other day cause I was broke.

13. Broke then sold my Blaster transformer.

14. Sold a big Base with tons of these little PVC robots I had at the fleamarket.

15. Seriously I could continue this for years, but that's probably enough.

Last year, I bought a Sonic X Dr. Eggman figure instead of a cool retro-roto Gutsman from Mega Man. In fact, buying the damn Eggman alone... bad decision. Awful, awful figure.
