Is there a form of check than can be acquired in the US and cashed in Europe -- particularly the UK? (And I'm not talking Paypal check.)

Surprisingly, the UK doesn't seem to accept USPS international MOs.

Yeah, but it looks like the UK doesn't accept USPS money orders.

Doesn't look like they have anything in paper form, which is what I'm looking for.

I'm not talking about a wire, I'm talking about a literal money order, same as a bank or post office MO.

Also, from Western Union's FAQ:

6. Can a money order purchased in the United States be cashed outside of the United States?
It can, depending on the policies of the cashing location, and if that location has a corresponding relationship with a bank in the United States. Under such circumstances, the cashing location may place a hold on the funds and delay their availability.
