For the third tournament we will be having a mixed tournament. It will be little rubber guys that wouldn’t support their own tournament. Think of it as the Toypedia tournament.

The LRG committee wants 8 lines of figures, and we’ve only decided on 7 lines. Six are very clear-cut. We need one more line of figures, and would love to hear your input. Here are the current six:
  • Gormiti
  • Fistful of Power
  • MIMP
  • Army Ants
  • Ultimate Muscle Micro Muscle Wresters
  • BB Super Deformed
If you have suggestions for figures to include from these lines, then post their name and a picture (either in the thread or a link to the picture).

We will also have a Wildcard group featuring eight figures. Tentatively we are considering some GPK’s but need at least six other figures. Again we need a name and picture.

Please keep in mind all nominations are viewed as suggestions. The ultimate decision is up to the LRG committee.

If there are any questions, please feel free to ask. And thank you in advance.

I'll have some suggestions later today after I can take some pictures. Might I ask why some of these lines "wouldn't support their own tournaments?" Several lines like MiMP, FoP, and gormiti certainly have enough figures to support their own tournament, there's more MiMP and Gormiti figures out there than there are BB and they've got their own tournament. Since the tournaments are just based on which sculpt you like better all the voters certainly don't need to be collectors of the lines.

Just my $0.02 but I think a great idea would be to hold an individual tournament for each different toyline and then have the multi-toyline tournament featuring the top vote getters from the individual tournaments. A sort of Grand Championship.

Anyhoo, I'll have some pix later today.

Ugh. >-<

We have lots of ideas, and we’ve been given lots of suggestions. This was the choice for this tournament. If you think there are figure lines better suited for the tournament, then please feel free to make the suggestions. That is the goal of this thread.

This is awesome! So are all 8 lines -- or the figures you select from them -- going to be pitted against one another? I think the 1st series Cheap Toys will have a rough go in this tournament... there are some pretty unique, fun sculpts, but I don't foresee many members of this board voting for "gross babies." :D

On the other hand, the 8th toy line I would recommend would be the 2nd series Cheap Toys. There are some incredibly unique and fun sculpts in that toy line. It's definitely in the upper echelon of mini figure toy lines. >-<

Barry, of the lines listed, the only ones that could host their own tournament currently would be the SDBBs and the UM Micros.

Why?
1. There really aren't much in the way of pictures out there.
2. Setting up a tournament takes a LOT of time, dedication and energy. For lines with little interest, it is hard to come by someone willing to do that right now.
3. Some lines (such as GPK) don't have a whole lot of figures.

For future tourneys, I am sure most, if not all of these lines will have their own contests (depending on picture availability). And there is definitely a plan for a tournament which will pit the best of the best against each other, but that is still far off.

In the mean time, we'll just play it by ear and have some fun.

I would reccomend Trash Bag Bunch, as someone already did.

Also, another line that I would reccomend is the Transformers Robot Heroes line. It is about the same size and articulation as the Battle Beasts. Although I think this line could actually deserve to have it's own tournament. It has a wide range of figures with G1 and Movie figures out now, and Beast Wars coming out soon. The Beast Wars figures especially look like they could fit in really nicely with Battle Beasts. Here are pics for those who haven't seen them:

For MiMP figures, this site has pictures with names for all figures in each series for anyone wanting to nominate any of them.

These Little Heroes figures crossed my mind, but I thought they should have their own tournament. It could include Star Wars, Transformers and Marvel.

BTW, those are great suggestions for a future tournament.

Some nominees:

Gormiti - DevilFenix

Posted Image
Gormiti - Bombos

Posted Image
Gormiti - Rocciatauro

Posted Image
Gormiti - Profound Horror

Posted Image
Gormiti - Prismagon

Posted Image
Gormiti - Fossil

I would also like to nominate Mega Man keshi for the final line in the competition. There are some amazingly cool and detailed sculpts though since they're based on the figures from the Japanese games I'm pretty clueless on most of the names.

Mega Man Keshi - Sigma

Mega Man Keshi - Unknown

...and finally, while probably right for this tournament, well painted Warhammer figures and kitbashes are probably the most badass looking little figures around!! >-<

I would love to see the heroes figures in a tournament. I collect the star wars ones, and the marvel/spiderman,fantastic four ones. I never really collected transformers or I would pick those up too because I think they are really cool looking.

I have never heard of these before the other day when I was in target, but have you guys heard of Ben Ten? I dont know what it is, but they had these mini sumo wrestler figures and I thought they were totally awesome. They were going for like $8 a pack so I passed for now, but plan to pick them up later if they dro in price some. i would like to see more of them and perhaps have them in the ultimate tournament.

If I had a choise in the matter, I would say Star wars and Galactic Hero figures are a must for the mixed tourney. not to be confused with the mixed tranny, thats soupie the gender neutral icon he-she.

The Ben 10 Sumo Slammers totally rock! I love them and quickly snatched up all 5 series. I think they'd be a tough sell to incorporate into this upcoming tourney, but they are fun little dudes.

i like the look of the ben ten sumo guys too, i think it would be a good idea to incorporate figures that people may not be totally aware of as it can help raise the profile and allow people to look at them in more detail. I dont have any myself but i am switthering as to whether i get some, maybe a tournament featuring them would be just what is needed to push me over the edge. Can you perhaps upload a photo or two or your ben ten men then?

Hey Barry, I was able to look up those Megaman keshi online, since you sold me that orange one that I traded to mimoman, and I know the cat's name is Neon Tiger. I recognize the bull and lobster from the same game, but don't recall their names, can look it up later. Sad to see that it was missing a tail after all, but I don't think he minds.

Robot/Galactic Heroes and Superhero Squad would be great for a separate tourney, plus the new Adventure Heroes or whatever for Indiana Jones. But they reminded me of another possible inclusion: Transformer Decoys, the red and purple almost eraser-y counterparts to MUSCLE.

http://transformers.....com/wiki/Decoy

You even have your rare variants and potential mystery figure, plus Japanese-only molds and several other colors used.

In another unrelated vein, I think some Godzilla SD figures would be awesome to include in this tournament, particularly the style and series I collect.

You might prefer these as wild card inclusions. I'll leave that decision up to you.

I was going to start getting the third tournament together. I thought I would give one last shot for people to make suggestions by posting pictures.

If there is not a picture in you post of a figure you want considered for the tournament, then please do not post. Thank you. :pardon:

Ok, nobody has posted pictures of figures they want to see in the tournament.

This can only mean that there won't be any complaining this time.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Divide & conquer works because of attachments people make to push-button issues, individual "leaders," parties, clans, tribes, policies, or agendas, leaving them open to manipulation.

Alright, here are some figures I would like to nominate. If you can only fit in one more figure, than my first choice would be my first pic, Trashblaster. The others are great too though:

Also, are you going to include Army Ants? Which figures? I would definately reccomend Pig Out (tank ant), Windy (Helicopter Ant), Road Rash (Jeep Ant), Mega Hurtz (Radio Ant), Quick Hit (Soldier Ant), Ozone (Big Bomb Ant), Razorbeak (Bomber Jet Ant), Recoil (Sniper Ant), Howler (Bazooka Ant), Bullseye (Solider Ant)

I know there aren't a lot of great photos of army ants on the web, but if nice, complete photos of them are needed, then I could provide pictures for pretty much every figure, including italian kombattini for most of them.
