Each morning I'll try and list a new game. The board will be given ~24 hours to vote for the winner.

The question for this tournament is, "Which is the overall better figure?"

Note: This tournament features many different types of figures, please consider the entirety of a figure (sculpt, detailing, materials, originality, etc.) when voting. Additionally we ask for understanding with the lack of consistent pictures. Do not dismiss a figure because of a poor picture. Please feel free to post a better picture of the figure you selected.

I don't even collect the JI Joe Hasbro toys, and I own the Obi figure, but I am having to vote for Snake Eyes on this one. That figure just screams awesomeness. I see it reaching the end of this tournament, maybe not the winner, but definately lasting awhile. That is one o fthe few JI Joe figs that I want to add to my collection, even though I dont collect them.

This was an easy vote for me but I can tell this tournament will be trouble, with me having to take the extra time to really compare since the quality will be pretty close I think in all of them.

Man, that Obi-Wan figure just kind of looks like a living puddle of goo.

Is that Snake Eyes figure some sort of exclusive version? Looks different than mine.

I certainly like the Obi-Wan version above, compared to the first release with the hood up.

However poor Obi-Wan can't really stand up to Snake Eyes. Is there another version? I had only seen this one. I actually see Snake Eyes' pose hurting him latter. The gun is good, but couldn't the sword have been out instead of up?

Yeah, i just went and checked to be sure, and my Snake Eyes is more grey instead of black, and he's got a regular chunky katana instead of that crazy big sword this one has.

I do agree about the pose not being stellar, this is the one drawback to this type of figure. Sometimes the poses are just really awkward and there's nothing you can do about it.

Looks like you are right. The above is a convention version, which I guess we'll stick with. Here's the other one:

I have to go with Snakey. He simply has a better sculpt, and I've always been a fan of flat grey colors.

I do like the 2nd Obi-wan with the hood up better though Veers.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

I do like the 2nd Obi-wan with the hood up better though Veers.

Why is that?

I like the hood down - probably because I always think of Obi-Wan with his hood down. The hood down also seems more kid friendly and hood up doesn't have the right shadows...secrecy? I'm not sure what word I'm looking for?

I feel the Hood gives him more fullness in appearance I guess. Mostly a visual preference I reckon. The one with the hood down just kind of looks like he is suffocating to me. :p

i think i like the non-convention snake eyes better. it's the one i have as well. it'd be cool if timber was in the picture, but we can't always get what we want. :p just think, there's a chance we could see a snake eyes / storm shadow match up. i think my nerdiness just popped a boner.

I like the paint job way better on the convention one, but that huge sword is pretty horrible. I don't think Snake Eyes has ever used anything remotely like that in any iteration of the franchise. Although i wouldn't be surprised to see it in the new movie, since it's an overblown and unnecessary change. :)

And yes, Timber would've been awesome in these pics. Although Snake Eyes obviously hasn't needed the help, and Timber is almost good enough to win a round on his own.

Which Timber, though? The SDCC 2008 version has the advantage of size, but the standard version is armed AND adorable. Also, that might set the unfortunate precedent of smaller "accessory" animal figures not being counted on their own. Come on, Adventure Heroes cobras!

LOL Obi-Wan. I guess after losing this round, he shall become more powerful than we could possibly imagine.

Divide & conquer works because of attachments people make to push-button issues, individual "leaders," parties, clans, tribes, policies, or agendas, leaving them open to manipulation.
