Each morning I'll try and list a new game. The board will be given ~24 hours to vote for the winner.

The question for this tournament is, "Which is the overall better figure?"

Note: This tournament features many different types of figures, please consider the entirety of a figure (sculpt, detailing, materials, originality, etc.) when voting. Additionally we ask for understanding with the lack of consistent pictures. Do not dismiss a figure because of a poor picture. Please feel free to post a better picture of the figure you selected.

I also wanted to let you guys know that we decided to leave out the figures like Timber (although we couldn't think of another small one like that) plus the bigger figures from each line (Jabba Wampa, Sentinel, Galactus, etc.). It just seems like those would have an unfair advantage.

I voted soundwave on this one. To be honest, im not particularly crazy about either of these figures, Thor is ok, gay articulation, soundwave is ok, I don't collect transformer stuff. Voting for this one came down to which I would be less embarrassed if someone saw me playing with.

I'm sure Soundwave would have got my vote anyway, but my biggest strike against Thor was the "Y" m c a pose he looks like he's in. Also I like beardless Thor better, or Frog Thor.

Thor blows. Instead of this figure, I'd rather see a Thor based on the little girl from Adventures in Babysitting.

(Re-reading my statement above, I hope it reads as a joke about how shizznitty the figure looks and not like I'm a total creep. <_< )

I think Soundwave had always been my favorite Transformer. I actually have this figure. It's a shame they picture has his left arm down. When it is up it looks like he is about to eject a tape. But to be fair, this is a number one seed I could see falling early.

I can still remember how excited i was when i found out they were making a bearded "Lord of Asgard" Thor for the Superhero Squad line. I am a huge, huge fan of Thor, he already had one good figure, and beards only ever make things better. Then i actually got it out of the package, realized he couldn't do anything beyond the terrible dance pose he comes in, and was extremely disappointed.

Soundwave, on the other hand, is basically the reason i got suckered into buying Robot Heroes. I love Transformers, but try to stay far away from the toys so i can actually afford to eat. But look at that guy. Great character, paint, and pose. I love that they made him look like he was about to unleash Laserbeak or Ravage.

Soundwave superior, Bearded Thor inferior.

I actually dig both of these figs.

I like the Design they gave for thor, and the Gold boots are just a nice touch. His pose isn't all that bad, cause I think of him about to call down some Thunder on Soundwave's @$$! However although it wouldn't fit with the articulation of the line, his arms would have been better if they could hinge down to his sides.

Soundwave is and always will be the Awesome though. I remember when this fig came out, I wanted it pretty bad, but I was able to overcome and save some money. <_< The pose if perfect for the character.

In my head I think Thor deserves it for his originality, but Soundwave for his playability and cool factor.

Well, I"m all about Playability and cool Factor. ;)

I don't mind the bearded look for Thor all that much, but I'm not a fan of the design of the character. And this figure has the major flaw in the arm articulation. It doesn't look like you can put them down, and if you rotate them downwards, it will look weird.

Soundwave looks awesome, though. Soundwave for the win!

I couldn't agree more, I think this gets forgotten far too often with toys.

I'm also surprised with the scores so far. Lopsided would be one thing, but it has been full-scale blowouts.

Without knowing ahead of time what the matchups are, i'd fully expect this to continue. I like these lines, but there are a lot of really awful figures amongst the standout ones. I've always assumed that this was the main reason for the 2-pack packaging. <_<

Says something about the sculpt that a muffin is all I see now! I don't particularly care for Thor, dislike the bearded version even less, and... you're all not blind, you see his pose.

Oh, and Soundwave superior etc.

damn your brainwashing! now i can only see the cupcake. i swear thor just hopped off the trolly car in san francisco and is shouting FABULOUS!!! with a lisp. i mean no offense when i say that, but he does have that over played hollywood gay stereotype look to him.

soundwave was my first transformer as a child. he will always be my favorite, and this sculpt is excellent. a kickass convention exclusive would be an actual eject button and a small transformable ravage cartridge inside.
