Each morning I'll try and list a new game. The board will be given ~24 hours to vote for the winner.

The question for this tournament is, "Which is the overall better figure?"

Note: This tournament features many different types of figures, please consider the entirety of a figure (sculpt, detailing, materials, originality, etc.) when voting. Additionally we ask for understanding with the lack of consistent pictures. Do not dismiss a figure because of a poor picture. Please feel free to post a better picture of the figure you selected.

Dan's comment hardly seemed like it was worthy of those ferocious rolleyes. It didn't even sound like a complaint against the tournament itself at all, simply an observation on the trends of this tourney thus far. Also, you came out of nowhere with this tournament before I ever had the opportunity to set up a Gormiti one (which I still hope to do). Which is mostly unrelated to anything else, just saying.

There are definitely some brutal matchups in our future. Grimlock/Punisher stands out in particular.

In the last match-up, Scumdogg had said:

Without knowing ahead of time what the matchups are, i'd fully expect this to continue.

Then there was Dan's small comment, so I was trying to stem the tide of negativity - plus I factored in the seemingly steady stream of complaints from tournaments past. It wasn't directed at Dan just the whining that tends to accompany a (hopefully) fun, inclusive, and (hopefully) positive board activity.

Plus Dan is a big boy and would have been just fine. Although I'm be much more careful with my use of the rolling eyes.

And this tournament got started because no moderators had been told of any completed tournaments that were ready to go. We can't wait for someone, besides us, to put one together! :M:

EDIT - I thought it was more fun not knowing the match-ups - getting a surprise with each match-up. :o

Well, I don't see any negativity from Scummy's quote either. As you've been running every tournament so far and have had criticisms directed at you in the past, I think you're too close to the issue in this case to realize when a response to commentary is warranted and when it's harmless nonsense. Definitely compared to past issues, this sounds like the latter. Also note that I'm not the one holding the can opener! :D

The fun of the contest has always been more about the way the votes go and the remarks in the thread than the surprise of not knowing the matchups, so it doesn't matter to me. Dunno how anyone else feels about that.

And this tournament got started because no moderators had been told of any completed tournaments that were ready to go. We can't wait for someone, besides us, to put one together!

The sour notes at the end of the last one made it seem like there would be no more, at least not from your end. Nobody seemed to see this coming, and there was no mention of a need for the tournies to continue. Meh.

I still love the tournaments even if they are one sided at first. Eventually the cool figs battle it in the end anyway. In this tournaments case, I think the "hero squad" toyline or whatever it is called is just lame so they will not go far.

I also like keeping the matchups undisclosed until they are posted :D That Gormiti Tournament sounds awesome. Cant wait for that one

hmmmm.. wasn't trying to be negative. sorry if it came across that way. i re-read what i posted and i guess i can see how it could have been misconstrued. i was just pointing out the fact that the first few match-ups have been fairly lopsided. i figured when you set these up you just randomly assigned seeds without worrying about what others may or may not like about the two characters. just like the last tournament, i appreciate you doing this and i have a lot of fun participating.

<kid gloves>good job veers. *(pat on the back)* all is fine. i wasn't actually trying to attack you or the tournament. just making observations. </kid gloves> :D

feel free to split this off or toss in the junkyard.

Well, my vote went to Storm Shadow. Normally a very action-orientated pose leaves the figure too "stuck" in my mind. This might be the best example against that idea, maybe ever. This figure just oozes playability to me. While I don't own the figure (and would be curious to hear from someone that does), I imagine when the arms move they continue to be in good play positions.

Dr. Strange just sucks. I've never like the idea of that character and his costume is just dumb. Marvel, Hasbro, and any future artist are stuck with a terrible figure and character as long as he is in existence.

Ut oh! The drama's already starting! :D

I went with Storm Shadow, of course. He's probably my favorite of all these types of figures. He has a great pose and a classic look... pretty much a perfect figure.

Doctor Strange looks like he should be on stage with Sigfried and Roy. He's colorful, but a big fail in all other respects.

while the poses available aren't terrible, some look better than others. but overall i'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a better way to do it (the articulation). he's a great figure and one i'm glad i have in my collection.

Woah, woah. When have i ever had a negative thing to say about these tournaments, and why would i start now? I didn't mean i wanted to know the matchups ahead of time. In fact i didn't even read the list you put up, i like the surprises. Just that for every one good figure in these lines there is at least one or two really terrible ones. Doesn't have anything to do with the matchups, the figures selected, anything. Just a theory that this is a line that could lead to a lot of blowout matches.

I voted for Storm Shadow in this one. Which is weird, because when Dr. Strange first came out he was one of my absolute favorite Superhero Squad figures. This round really showcases how blobby their designs started out, and how much they managed to tighten them up eventually. A lot of the early Marvel figures are probably going to suffer for this.

I agree, and I love these tournaments, and even if the first round is totally one sided, that just makes the next round more exciting.

Ninja vs 70's Porn Actor?

I'd pay to see that film! It'd probably be worthy of a GWAR concert performance!

My money's on the Ninja, but barely. Strange could pull something strange out of his ass at the last second to win!

EDIT: Just saw the votes. Strange's ass is too toasted to pull anything out of it. So it goes.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.
