Each morning I'll try and list a new game. The board will be given ~24 hours to vote for the winner.

The question for this tournament is, "Which is the overall better figure?"

Note: This tournament features many different types of figures, please consider the entirety of a figure (sculpt, detailing, materials, originality, etc.) when voting. Additionally we ask for understanding with the lack of consistent pictures. Do not dismiss a figure because of a poor picture. Please feel free to post a better picture of the figure you selected.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Soundwave's thumbs-up pose is so cheesy that he ought to transform into a sandwich toaster.

Luke/Yoda for me.

I think Soundwave was made in Iran. He says he wishes that your donkey would explode.

For me this is a collector vs. toy match-up. I think kids would be drawn to the playability and involvedness of Luke w/ Yoda. For any collector, Soundwave looks awesome. The picture shows a "thumbs up" look, but the figure is actually pressing the eject button. The figure needs to have the left arm raised up.

Lil' Veers has Soundwave and he's only moderately interested in him. He's useful to knock around, but doesn't get the imaginative play that some other figures receive. Hell, Weeble Wobbles get more playtime than Soundwave.

While I think Soundwave is the better collectible, Luke w/ Yoda is the overall better figure. It has playability but also appeals to collectors with a very unique design.

Great matchup. I like both of these figures....so I'm at odds end trying to pick one. Soundwave is cool and Luke/Yoda is fun.

I have this Transformers TPB called All Hail Megatron.

In it, Soundwave unleashes Frenzy on some army guys. One of the other Constructicons is talking about how he doesn't seem like that big of a deal, and then Thundercracker is like "Just wait". And proceeds to talk about how Frenzy emits some sound that drives everything around him insane as he attacks, even himself. They talk about how nobody is immune to the effects. And then they say "Well except one".

And then it's a panel of just Soundwave's visor, showing the reflection of Frenzy all just murderin' dudes.

That panel will stick in my head forever, and it makes Soundwave just ridiculously awesome.

So when i see this pose, where he's going for the eject button, all i can see is this scenario playing out. Yoda is cool and all, but not like that.

Although I can't stand anything about All Hail Megatron, that scene (and the Constructicon entrance I use as another signature) was awesome indeed.

This seems like an...odd opinion to have.

Almost...incorrect.

I've seen far more criticism than praise for the series... ever, so I find that notion odd. Then again, I hang around Transfans.

If All Hail Megatron was a wholly self-contained universe, that would remove half its list of problems. A lot of its issues is that it's supposed to continue from where IDW's comics leave off and that's not how it reads at all. Characterization, plot, even alternate modes and existing technology are thrown out the damn window with reckless abandon.

Ah see i never read any of IDW's comics. The last things i read were the first two main Dreamwave minis and The War Within. Then i picked this up kind of at random because i really liked the cover. And the plot reminded me of my favorite Wildstorm Thundercats arc, where Mumm-Ra manages to take over New Thundera and rule it for years. I just really like stories like that.

Yeah though i guess if you care about canon and stuff i can't really argue. :)

Soundwave. Pose is decent, but the colors and sculpt are spot-on imo. I like the concept of the Luke/ Yoda figure, but the execution just isn't there for me.

soundwave is the coolest transformadroid ever! I was never big into transformoids - this guy was cool though a friend of mine had him and i always remember thinkin 'yeah, i would love that one'. I only had two transformer things as a kid. A grey fighter jet, dunno his name and the big voltron thing with the lions for arms and legs and stuff - is he even a transformer? or a gobot or some shizznit?

I still don't like the face Luke's making.....looks like he's sucking on his lips in concentration. May be true to the character (he IS training), but on a toy it just looks...stupid.

The grey jet could be a lot of things, including Starscream or the leader of the Go-Bots, Leader-1. The Voltron lion is... Voltron. :D

I didn't really notice the pursed lips expression, but now I see what you're talking about. I'll give the Luke/Yoda figure props for its detail and including Yoda with the figure, that's for sure, I just like Soundwave (character and figure) more.

Oh man, this is driving me demented trying to find out who the transfromer was - it definatley was not the go-bot guy. It was a bout a foot long and it was just lightgrey/white but with black hands and black feet etc. It was really, really heavy and made of metal (or maybe i was just puny) I do not think it was starscream as it was not colourful like what his breast plate is like. :unknw: its so annoying, i have been looking for about an hour and a half now! This is going to drive me nuts i know it.

Ramjet maybe? He was sort of gray/white, and had black hands and feet, and a diecast body.
