Each morning I'll try and list a new game. The board will be given ~24 hours to vote for the winner.

The question for this tournament is, "Which is the overall better figure?"

Note: This tournament features many different types of figures, please consider the entirety of a figure (sculpt, detailing, materials, originality, etc.) when voting. Additionally we ask for understanding with the lack of consistent pictures. Do not dismiss a figure because of a poor picture. Please feel free to post a better picture of the figure you selected.

I don't care how badass people perceive Boba Fett to be. That figure sucks.

IG-88 for the win, by default.

Boba as a character is so cool , and this figure is one of the better Star Wars sculpts from this line I've seen.
Looks more like a collectable than a common figure.

Wiping away all the Boba Fett hype, it's still an easy vote for me.

As I said before, the IG-88 figure warps and has trouble standing up. This is not only frustrating to collectors but to little kids too. Think I'm kidding? Lil' Veers was crying this morning because POTF2 Han wouldn't stand up on the book like his other Galactic Heroes.

At a minimum, these types of figures need to be able to stand. IG-88 doesn't always do this.

As for Boba Fett, it's probably one of the most nicely painted figures in the line. And collectors can complain about the stance, but I know Lil' Veers doesn't care. The fact that he can easily hold them, easily stand them up, and even play with their weapons as his own when their arms are outstretched make me a firm believer in the positioning.

My vote is for Boba Fett.

Boba Fett can outsmart 88 all day, and then blow up his ship again and again, but IG-88 is just the better figure for me.

The IG-88 sculpt is nice, but it warps and falls over – even GRANDTHEFT had chimed in with that same problem. I'm surprised that it doesn't seem to matter to people.

If these were figure reviews, I'd have to imagine the figure being unable to stand (when it is supposed to) would detract quite a few points. Hell, people seem to get far more upset when something small like a swivel hip or arm is not concealed perfectly.

I'm just surprised with this one. :D

While i sympathize with warped limbs (what toyline *doesn't* suffer from this problem these days?), i just really think IG-88 is the cooler toy here. The "arms straight out" pose really hurts a lot of the Galactic Heroes figures, and it's nice to see one without it.

Well, I'm trying to think as a kid as well as a collector. I used to have a ton of small Robot figures when I was a kid....I don't recall standing them up so much as slamming them together and piling them up. If I were a kid, I'd willingly play with the IG-88 more. I mean, a lot of things have changed since we were kids. There are a LOT more cutesy toys around that aren't dolls. I mean when we were kids most of all we had were Action Figures anyways. We didn't have 3 step programs till we could play with Action Figures. :D I went straight from the Sesame Street piano to Lion-O. So the less cute characters in this line are surely more interesting to me on both levels.

I also agree with Scummy. I have bought plenty of figures over the past couple years that have had standing troubles. It stinks, but I usually just lean the cripple up against a heavier figure in my displays.

Holy shizzlebizzle, IG-88 rocked this vote :D

I actually really like IG, though he seems to have one fatal flaw-that horrible crane machine arm of his. It doesn't seem to match the rest of the toy, and looks horrible besides. Regardless of his toy machine arm, he still beats out the Boba Fett.

There's always possibilities when it comes to a figure that doesn't stand to alleviate the offending issue. By comparison, there's nothing that can entirely fix the awful proportions or pose of figures like Boba Fett. In a comparison like this, I'm certainly willing to risk getting a nice figure with limbs that might not keep him upright than another with aesthetics that I just don't like.

Mind you, I also don't bother trying to justify my choices based on the figure I think children prefer. I am not a child, I don't have children of my own or around to observe, therefore I go by only what I know now as a toy-collecting adult. There is nothing wrong with anyone taking that approach, mind, but I can't do it.
