Makes me think some voters are biased towards a particular character.
I think this has happened a lot in this tournament, perhaps more than any other one we've had.
I think some fuel gets poured on that fire too because there are different lines. People were swayed by the line they like, instead of the figure by itself.
I know I'm influenced by the character. I think it's impossible when judging figures to totally divorce yourself from a character you're familiar with because you draw so many associations with that character.
I can't believe that the Grail Knight would have really have gotten all those votes if people didn't associate him with the character in the Indiana Jones movie. Similarly, I'm sure that General Grievous would have performed better if people didn't associate him with the SW prequels.
In this case, I love both these figures. I've always been a fan of Hammerhead; as a kid I always thought he was one of the coolest-looking aliens around. But Veers nailed the problems with this figure. Neither the Fred from Scooby Doo ascot nor the staff work well with the figure. That and the overexposure of Star Wars characters in general gives this figure a "been there, done that" feeling.
I've also always loved the Dinobots. Most of that comes from their cool robo-dino alt forms, but with this figure, I have only the robot form. But Grimlock is one of the cooler-looking Transformers. I like the ninja-mask head, the silver body, and the sword. The wings also open up some play value.
It's Grimlock by a nose.
