Think of this as a little lead up for my upcoming toy line. 1 of these guys (the smallest) didn't survive peeling the original mold off him, so this is likely going to be unique to these castings. He was fairly brittle I guess as he broke when carving & was partially glued back to make a mold. I guess it was too much for him in the end

This is some seemingly pretty durable material (permastone) guess I just couldn't wait to get the real molds made so I had to play with some rubber mold material I had on hand & picked up the casting stuff to have something to put in em!

Each set will be cast, sealed, and hand painted in this scheme for the first go around. Not sure how long my little rubber molds will last here so I'm capping the sets of to 10 for this paint scheme, not to be repeated after the 10 sets are done. Each set will be numbered and it's first come, first serve.

1 set will be $35 shipped within the continental U.S. & I'll have to get quotes for those outside of that to see what the difference is.

Well... on to the show!

I guess it's best if you claim yours by replying in this thread so we know who asked when :)

Thanks,

Kodama!

Busted!

Seriously though... these guys were sketched in my sketchbook over vacation with the family, then we found some cool rock (possibly sandstone) on a hike in Havasu. I realized it was fairly easy to carve & came out with a lot of character so I did a few. After all was said & done I picked apart each sketch to try to figure their origins... this was one of the easiest to figure where the inspiration came from.

These suckers are hard to photograph as the paint scheme is highly reflective. I started by airbrushing my standard primer Tamiya flat black, then rubbed on this great silver paint that polishes up brilliantly, brushed on Tamiya clear blue, this turned out too dark so I lightly brushed on an acrylic mix of metallic blue & silver to kinda lighten it up to its current state. Fairly labor intensive paint job for such a simple look, but they do look really nice in person.

Not sure if this is a complete lack of interest in these little guys or the price tag? If it's a lack of interest I suppose I can't help there because.... well.... they are what they are. If it's a price tag thing well.... how 'bout we split up some sets? That would put the figures @ $15 each + shipping. These will still be numbered as sets.

Thanks,

Luke

I am a notoriously cheap collector as far as toys go. These however are art, and I have little experience buying art with the exception of the custom painted Space Godzilla. I am however fully dedicated to your project. I am very excited about the grassroots campaign on your part to make toys. I am more than willing to apply my standing credit towards the first matching set of these at $50 for the three. I will have more money freed up after I am done with Christmas, and I have more auctions end.

I think Christmas spending might have something to do with the limited response you have gotten so far. Hopefully other guys here will be willing to part with a little of their money after they know what Santa is giving.

If you're for sure I'll set these guys aside for you.

Yeah there's a lot of stuff popping up lately that I want.... but 4 kids are a lot of fun to buy for @ Christmas time! And that's where my money's at....

Well it looks like the material has decided the actual outcome of this project. Basically with a couple of experiments & what not in the end I was left with enough material to produce 9 full sets for this first run. So the production on this run will be limited to 9 complete sets painted in this scheme.

Each set once fully painted & properly sealed will be numbered on their base. Each set will also be unique in that I overfilled each cast to leave a hefty part as a base. Each base was then carved back a bit to resemble grass & painted accordingly.

The first set is the one pictured & that will be going to LethalWhip who laid claim to the first set.

Thanks again,

Luke

Price drop as the price seemed pretty hefty to me when I listed it, even though it works out to like $15 + shipping. That & I set it @ $30 for this last show & try to give you guys the same pricing I end up with at shows or better.

Thanks,

Luke
