I was going to make a crack last night... something like "What if I list my brother's purple claw on ebay right now?" just to be a jerk. Of course I wouldn't really be a prick like that.
You list your brother's, Ill list mine, Veers will list his second, Johnny will list his 4 and there will be like ten purple claw auctions, saweet!!! I'll sell mine, then buy all the others for fractions of what they normally sell for hehehe.

Can everyone list what they paid for theirs?

We need a tracker for this little guy
Can everyone list what they paid for theirs?
I know NoBody paid $625 for his 4 pack. This board may never see that 4 pack again because apparently NoBody lost it.

$860 and reserve not met....seriously???
Holy cow, this is going to artificially inflate the value of purple 153 big time! I'm not saying it isn't valuable, but valued more than $860 is crazy -- you can get a super rare for that much.

oh yeah, I just noticed that actually. Damn, I wonder what that's going to end up at!!!
Looks like my only hope for obtaining a purple claw now is to hope someone finds a case of figures with tons of purple claws.

BTW, current high bidder

is the same high bidder that "won" Alex's $5000 Mysterious Partner Super Rare.

Yep, Alex is shilling this auction, too. What a effing douchebag.

Am I missing something here or does it not seem like some sort of collusion between people I would have not thought to see it from. Just my perspective but I'm calling it like I see it and the facts make this one look very suspicious. Can someone please point me towards whatever it is that I'm missing here please and thanks.

Two mortal enemies. Definately no collaboration. The second auction was posted to spite the first and is being shill bidded. Veers auction just never reached his ideal price.
Which is of course is what I and I assume everyone else thought as well, but while it looks like Alex' auction was set up to spite Veers', let's face it, with whatever reserve Veers set, his was never for sale anyways, as I don't think a loose purple #153 has ever reached much more than half of that previously. This leads everyone bidding on Veers' to look at the situation after his ended and say... hey, now why don't we bid on the one that actually IS for sale, so rather than Alex spiting Veers, Veers sets Alex up for a windfall.
Whether or not it turns out that way or if the shill takes it, the only person that benefited from Veers listing his auction is Alex. Veers did not benefit by pricing it at a point where it would never sell, and the community did not benefit as anyone who thought they would have a reasonable chance of paying even far above the previously established value range from the last few of these that sold also got denied.... except if they want the one ending shortly.
It might just be that it's 2am and I've had people feeding me drinks for the past 4 hours, but I'm failing to see the logic that I thought would be apparent in this situation, other than my previously reached conclusion.

Alex has shilled it up with the same account that he had do the BIN on his Mysterious Partner (to try and inflate SR prices), and no doubt, when the auction ends, Alex will send a 2nd chance offer to the next highest bidder (who, BTW, bid $480 on Veers claw) saying that he just so happens to have a second one that he will part with at their max bid.
That is unless bidders 1 and 2 from Veers auction go for Alex's and try to outbid the account shilling for him.
What is that acronym? Oh yeah, F.U.B.A.R., that's it!

To me it seems Veersy simply put the claw up for auction to establish a feasible auction value. How high was your reserve Veers? I'm assuming it was capped out at $1000.
I think people are totally missing the point. Alex, despite not being a member is very much still ingrained in the hobby, and keeps constant tabs on things regarding the hobby....excuse the example Brojo, but Alex is like an evil version of you who collects muscles.

Having said that, I think if Veers did place an unattainable reserve on the item, it was a bad move, and this information should have been adequately aforementioned either in the auction or the UoM site.

Given the past of rare figure values, I don't think 1,000 or even 1,500 is unattainable for some collectors, and thus feel, especially given the 800+ ending value of Veers auction, that these values are completely plausible for a reserve.

This is going to be very interesting.
I was just re-reading this thread and this made me laugh.

1 bid for one auction and a last second bid on another.
