Is it a political or socio-economic statement or simply a factory error from the 80's?!

I couldn't find reference to this bubble error on UofM's Error Page: http://blog.uofmuscle.com/?p=829

I have several MUSCLES with bubbles, but none worth really posting, till I came across this guy...

Mr. America... "Double Bubble"

He has a LARGE and DEEP bubble on his left Pectoral, and a smaller but still deep under his left...

The one on his left is the biggest and deepest bubble I have ever seen on a MUSCLE.

He also suffers from a bit of a warp, that being said, this guy is ALL jacked up.

Thoughts? :)

That's a weird one. I can't say I've ever seen a "bubble" on a MUSCLE figure. I'm shocked to hear you say that you've seen several.

To me, it looks more like damage to the figure. I've seen different marks and wear turn a spot white-ish. Without a better picture, I'd think it was that.

I can say almost 100% that its a factory error, not sure if I can get better pics but Ill try...

Almost every 'Rollerman' figure I have has a small bubble on the back.

It is an indentation, I can push the bubble in, this one is pretty deep so there is more plastic on the roof of the bubble than the other ones I have...

With the first post I wsa trying to save HDD space for jkaris, but Ill post a few 'raw' photos so you can get all close and smell it :)

The roller man guy was the first bubble I noticed, several of him I have have bubbles like that in the exact same spot, I was going to post a post like this before but I decided it wasnt 'severe' enough to warrant a posting.

I Posted a profile picture of Double Bubble so you can see how raised it is above the normal sculpt.

I am sure that I am not the only one here to have microwaved a M.U.S.C.L.E. to death as a kid.
The first thing they do is get really flexible, then they begin to bubble, and eventually start to melt and burn.
This guy could have ridden the kitchen carousel, but not long enough to damage him fully.

Some of you guys were too rough on your toys... lol, although I must admit I am tempted to light one on fire just to see what happens.

As you can see in the pictures none of his other features are 'dulled' or melted, his details are actually very crisp and the bubble appears to ME at least to be from maybe an air leak in the injection molding... this particular bubble is still sealed on the figure and is more of a blister.

a bubble doesn't make sense to me as a factory error. i would think that the mold itself would keep the bubble in check preventing it from protruding out like that. i guess if the tree was removed from the mold while the plastic was still malleable. but then why would the gas expand pushing the bubble shape out? out of the mold the cool air should cause the bubble to contract and thus give you a concave error. hmmmm... i don't know. i guess i'm going to have to go back in time and blow air into the process lines to test these theories. while i'm back there, does anyone want some super-rares in muscle plastic? i'm gonna make my own 418 piece set. i'll start the bidding at one million dollars.

i thought of microwaves as the culprit too, and then read fuzzbuster's post, which convinces me.
