Hey, everybody! Why the +, you ask? Well, because this one is getting kind of a late start, it's gonna extend for a bit - you have until July 15th. June 12-July 15. So as I said, June Plus!
This is a photography contest. I want you to strip naked and take a picture of yourself shoving some MUSCLES where the sun... wait, no, wrong contest. Ahem. Sorry about that.
ANYWAY, this is a photography contest. Please keep your clothes on. What I want to see are toy fight scenes! And not just any pictures - I want to see them done with LRGs! Here are the rules:
1. You get up to three entries.
2. Each entry is one photograph.
3. The toys must be fighting somehow. Merely glaring at each other does not count, though if they look like they are swinging their fists around, it works. But get creative! Put them in wrestling holds! Have them kick and stab each other around!
5. The figures must be unarticulated mini figs. This means no more than two or three inches tall (on average - it's okay to have a big one if he's surrounded by smaller toys), and NO MORE THAN BATTLE BEAST ARTICULATION. Do you understand that? And I mean classic BBs, with the swivel arms. So no MiniMates, Lego people, Z-Bots, or other things like that. You'll get more points if the figures don't move at all, anyway.
6. The figures must not already be posed together in a fight. This disqualifies most pre-posed Kinkeshi to an extent. You can use those pieces, but you have to vary it somehow. So the dual figure of Kinnikuman putting Buffaloman in the Kinniku Buster would need to be broken up somehow so it isn't the same pose.
7. Be creative! If you take a picture and it doesn't look good to you, try mixing things up. Take multiple photos until one comes out clear. Use backdrops if you want to, or leave them in the raw if you don't. Have fun!
The prizes are TBA. I'm actually about to go through a lot of my stuff and unload toys that I haven't touched or thought about in a while, so if there are any good gems in that category, I'll add them into the prize pool. There's a good chance of multiple prized, but let's wait until I get my stuff together.
Here are some examples to try to explain what I mean:
Here, it looks like the horse demon is throwing his hands in the air because the angel has him dead to rights. Technically they are "just standing there," but the scene has enough action.
Goku and Frieza appear to be charging headlong at each other.
The giant maggot is currently snacking on a small child's throat.
This picture manages to communicate the image of all the MUSCLEs charging Cythulhu.
This one would not count because the three main figures are a set, and meant to be posed in that way.
Although they are just standing there, the positioning of their hands gives the illusion of movement and action.
Yes, these are posed sets, but rather than being used for their intended purpose, they are redone as a chicken fight!
But on the other hand, this would be disqualified.
See how it looks like the staff and sword are about to clash?
This piece is more than a mere fight, it is an out-and-out brawl. Again, note how all the fairly neutral poses look like action shots when tkaen in the right context.
And finally, note how the big guy is a lot larger than the contest limit. However, his opponents are USLCE-sized, and thus he is in scale. And yes, he is stuck in that pose permanently. Unarticulated.
So, with that in mind, be creative and have fun! I can't wait to see the crazy things that everybody here is going to come up with!
