i've seen a couple sell on ebay and i remember at one time there was even an auction for just the head. on a long enough time line it's possible to complete a headless ashuraman.
Thats possible, how bout trying to complete a pegless BHS? Most of BHS are pegless. Is it possible to look for a peg in a lot?
Im just throwing a random question here. All the BHS I seen are without a peg. If I ever find a SHA or BHS still attached, I'll keep it in a glass case.

Yes, MUSCLE BHSes have been found with peg attached.Im just throwing a random question here. All the BHS I seen are without a peg.
Also, I will no longer refer to BHS or SHA as "super" rare. They're not.
(Attached images were both posted by Arforbes at some point in the past.)

i doubt you'll ever see a peg up for auction. they're so non-descript that someone would have to know what they're looking at to not just toss it into the bin. why a peg would last all these years is beyond me.
I think your probably right (peg only on a auction), I also think it wouldnt be possible to find a peg with other MUSCLE without BHS in a lot.
Do you remember how much did a SHA head went for?

Well they're still rarer than Satan Cross, so are they now designated Spiffy Rare? Ooo or how bout Soupy Rare?

Of course they are because SC is not rare at all. Not even a little rare. Probably not even uncommon.Well they're still rarer than Satan Cross, so are they now designated Spiffy Rare? Ooo or how bout Soupy Rare?

However, the main reason to no longer call them "super" rare would be to dissociate them from the real Super Rare figures, the figures that are truly one-of-a-kind, or at most, two-of-a-kind. SHA and BHS are still in a separate category than the Poster MUSCLEs, Ring Figures, and Satan Cross.
And the reason this is important is because the origin of Non-Poster MUSCLEs such as SHA and BHS may be different than the origin of Non-Poster MUSCLEs such as Drunken Master.

?? Categorize them like ?? :
SC - cool to have, but not rare or uncommon, lots of SC are available.
BHS & SHA - rare, much harder to find than SC, multiples available.
All other "Rare Figures" - Super Rare - Only one or two known to exist. May the force be with you on locating one.

And I agree with Soups. BHS and SHA were most likely released to retail at some point, whether test market or tail-ender. This is possible for Dr Bombe as well (though unlikely), since he seems to show up every now and then as well (not nearly as much as SHA or BHS, though).
The Mag 11 and the 4 colored SR figs were found in Japan, and are most likely test shots or salesman samples.
Chainman, Drunken Master, Black Emperor are likely the same, but happened to make their way here to the US somehow.
BTW, I moved the SR FAQ to the MUSCLE section. Just makes more sense these days.
