Ya, I see where you are coming from now.

As for where to draw the line for this series... we shall see what get submitted and how the votes go down. Ultimately the fans will decide where it is.

Would love to see what you are working on, have you submitted anything yet?

I agree with soups, Kinnikuman 2.0

But it doesnt change anything. These are great figs and whether they fall directly into the category of a Completely New/ Different line or a Muscle Continuation doesn't change that. :)

If one says so or not, they are what they are... and they share many of the same characteristics of muscles/ kinnikuman; Size, Mono color (especially flesh), non articulation, drastic character design, material, packaging, ...

In all fairness i don't see this as Muscle 2.0 really, but it is following in the same footsteps.

If you think about it, everything is an homage to the army man. And the army man was probably an homage to the little green sticks kids used to play with.

But really, even looking back, Kinnikuman Kinkeshi (though not the first keshi) were definitely the most successful miniatures toy line of it's time in Japan.
It was so popular it invaded the states, europe, and Austrailia. In each of those countries it spawned countless copycat lines that attempted to ride the coat-tails of cheap money Minis.
Gumball bootlegs were produced by the score. Obvious copycat attempts like Muscle Mania based some designs off of Muscle figures. Parody lines in Japan pushed the limits of Copyright infringment by featuring the characters in butchered form. Other Wrestler Themed miniatures like Weird Balls were made in similar packing formats. Even Joe Morrison, the man behind the Muscle line went on with MIMP. Even within the past 5 years people have still found modern bootlegs of Muscle figures sold as party favors.

The only way I can compare it, would be with the Light Sword. Sure there was Science Fiction predating Star Wars with Light based swords. But nobody today could get away with arming their Sci-Fi characters with light swords, and then claim that the weapon wasn't influenced by the Light Saber. :starwars:

Finish it anyway!! Having said all that, and definitely agreeing with what URS said in that most mini figurine toylines share a lot of similarities with their predecessors, my submissions will probably seem eerily similar to some M.U.S.C.L.E./Kinkeshi designs. I have an 8-Ball pool player in the works I call "Bill Yard", a guy I'll probably submit as "Thumb-Screw'd"; So what? I'll cross my fingers and hope they make the cut. I'm submitting 5 designs, no sculptures.

That was an awesome video! That material is amazing! It puts most conventional sculpeys and such to shame. I can imagine it's extremely pricey.

omg i want some of this stuff! this stuff look great! i like the prosculpt stuff i am using but i see some definite limitations of it. the fact that you can draw on that cx5 with a pencil was awesome! does this stuff have to be baked or hardened in any way to sand it like that? i am definitely interested. ericnilla if you get a bunch of this stuff, can you give me a little bit of it to experiment with?

It appears to be pliable like putty when heated, as he has it in a little hot pan. Then it seems to harden like clay, but doesn't dry out. So it's like a sculpey clay wax!

What is the issue? Are the pictures too big, or is it you don't know how (browse button under attachments when you post)?

No guys I know here on LRG how it works but on OMFG! Forum is not the same I think...
When I start to upload picture it says "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached" I don't know what's the meaning.... The file is not too big now.. I've reduced it and it's really small under 150KB.
Maybe I don't know very how works it and the functions of that....

Forums usually have a limit on how many images you can upload directly. You've exceeded that limit on October Toys apparently, and the giant size of your pictures probably didn't help matters. Host them on a different website instead of attaching them as thumbnails, or delete the previous images you've uploaded.

EDIT: Yeah, if you can't host ANY attachments, that's a different story. You need a site like Imageshack or Photobucket to host them for you.
