I don't think we've thought about comic packs, since those usually come with classic issues. Would people want a copy of an issue they just bought? I guess at mass it's likely the buyer hasn't bought it, but it's also going to be a PG-13 book, so we might not want to foist it on unsuspecting parents. It's a great idea! Ask DST! http://www.artasylum.com/question

Yeah, I got you. I thought maybe it would be a good cross promotion since folks that buy the figures from Toys R Us may not be aware of the comic. Maybe a sticker or some sort of advertisement on the package.

What else may be cool is a free download code of the comic in the package.

Thanks to DSTZach and Marty I can show you this pics of the clear red Vorin. I will do pics of the grey one later.

My first impression about this figure is very good. I was impressed by the amount of sculpt. Even if the clear red doesn't show it very well there are a lot of details. The size is the same as the BB which is perfect for me as I will be able to display them together. I already heard the purist: "blasphemy !" But when you will have one DST figure in hands you will understand that they go very well with the vintage line. I have had fun playing with Vorin in the last 48 hours. I put its weapon in hand, then put it back on its back. I moved the legs, the arms, the hands. Remove them, put them back multiple times. I know some have had issue with parts falling apart but my figure doesn't have this kind of problem. Of course I can easily remove parts but when they are in place they are in place (not like this f*** Saint Seiya armor parts I used to play with when I was young).

Now waiting for the full release will be harder than ever. I need more of them so I will have enough (if I can ever have enough) to play with childrens.

Anything that gets out a few more new/redeco Battle Beasts out would be OK by me! But (as I assume I'd have the comic) I'd be quite happy with just another couple of redeco figures. (Evil Vorin. Goat-ee. C'mon. Awesome.)

"The first Beast toys we'll have for sale will be a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive two-pack, featuring Vorin with his cloak down and an evil dragonfly character named Zik. Vorin will be in full color for the first time, and he'll be slightly different from the regular release in the fall, and Zik is a fun character we designed just for this set."

Does anybody attend the SDCC? I will not be able to attend and will lose my marbles if I cannot get access to this set! :)

Cool artwork on the comic, but I am not impressed. I feel they are destroying the original story line. I done think I will be buying anything by these guys. Sorry, I might pick up stuff from Beast Saga however.

I'm always amused by people who feel something new "destroys" an earlier property that inspired it. The original is still there any time you want to enjoy it ;) (what little there is - there was nothing at all as far as I knew back when I played with them - I created my own universe and will have no trouble incorporating these characters into the ongoing story). Personally, I'd accuse Beast Saga of doing more damage to the classic series since it appears to be trying much harder to be a direct recreation of that universe.

There was some story content in Beastformers, but even less in Battle Beasts. IMO there isn't enough stories in the classic Battle Beasts to be ruined by the new Battle Beasts comic series.

As it stands Beastsformers story content consist of:
- Various Japanese toy Packaging content including the cards, etc.
- An episode of the Japanese Transformers
- And probably a few more things I don't even know about.

Battle Beasts story content consist of:
- Various U.S. toy Packaging content (very little details in regards to stories)
- The same episode of the Japanese Transformers but in English
- A Cassette Tape (I imagine like an audio book)
- Various Coloring Books (minimal stories, nothing major)
- 4 Comics + 1 Annual (aside from the episode, this is where the real story content comes in, unfortunately its incomplete)
- 1 cameo appearance in a newer modern Transformers comic series. (The BBs were in Unicron's head/body being controlled to protect him against the minicons o.O)

You add all that up, it still really doesn't amount to much story content.

So having a new Battle Beasts comic series certainly isn't going to hurt a story history that really doesn't have much of one.

Also Takara's Beasts Saga doesn't seem to be apart of Beastformers to me. So I think its ment as a completely unrelated story.

Takara's Beast Saga is on the same planet. Planet Beast, has some of the same characters. Same feel as the beastformers line, to me anyways. Maybe that is why I am pushing away from the new Battle Beasts. The new series takes place on Earth. I love the art work don't get me wrong. But I just can't get into that story line. It just was not working for me. But that is probably because I am so familiar with the Japanese Story line, and the new DS Story Line isn't even close.

Just my thoughts, I won't by anything related to the new Battle Beast line.

I'm with you on this one, it doesn't interest me. But like most toy lines, I'm glad others can enjoy them, I just will waste my money elsewhere. The only problem that usually bothers me with stuff like this is tagging off the BB or LB names. I don't know why, but I just prefer a new line with a new name like Beast Saga or whatever. Again, it's a preference thing, not a knock on the new line. Beast Saga interests me, but I'd like to see a figure in my hand before going any further in saying I'll support it either. I like probably most on here, would love to have new animals come out, same design, same everything with a fun comic for kids - which this new one isn't (for me at least), but I know that will never happen. I just like getting new toys for my son and nephew to open, and I'm not about to buy the old ones sealed up for them to open and play with. Sadly I guess we are too far advanced these days to ever see a rub with wood, water or fire again.

Also, I agree with prior comments 100% that the old comics suck, but I am glad they exist. I just bought them and the annual for my son and nephew, but they are not the most exciting story lines, nor do they have great colored images or even offer some sort of a conclusion. But I've made copies of them, and my nephew loves coloring in the pages while I read to him. But the images off the comic are great, very nice addition to the new line.

I don't know if you've all read the first 8 pages of issue #1 on www.battlebeast.com, but I highly recommend it. I read some of the old BB comics when I was a kid, but this series will be nothing like it. I've seen the scripts for the first two issues, and they're action-packed --like a blockbuster Hollywood movie.

What did you guys think of the new sketches that went with the article? Those were some of my favoriites, but it was hard to choose from all the great designs.

I LOVE the new Egyptian Alligator. Really glad to see that we are going to be getting a Hammerhead Battle Beast. And Sumo Blowfish is hilarious. I really hope that's his name. The concept art looks fantastic. I am really interested to see how these characters will translate into minimate form. I can see how the mantis will be put together. And I am guessing that the Sumo Blowfish will be similar to Gruntos in minimate form. But I am most excited to see how the gator and hammerhead will look in figure form.

Really excited for the new comic book. Just a couple of months away now.
