FOA are a lot of fun. Those micro Predasaurs are pretty awesome, and look like they'd make good companions for the FOA. Cool shit!

Stronty really set the bar higher, for the staff contests (that bastard).

Cool, nice to see you snagged SC. I haven't even started with the colors yet. So is your flesh set complete now?

It's questionable whether I will receive my UOVII order.  My post office has a tendency to get lazy and dishonest - as in, I am tracking a package, see the mail truck come and go, and then the tracking updates to "notice left" even though there was no notice.  One of the mail carriers even said, "Yeah, I don't deliver parcels if I don't feel like it."  On the rare times when I do get a notice, they usually send me to the wrong post office, which sends me to another, which sends me back to the first.

So I've got a notice on mail from Australia, which includes an article number that does not exist in USPS's registry, and the office of a post office that claims never to have received it.  So I'm fighting with my post office now to try to get them to either deliver the thing, or quit lying and admit that it's gone.

I think they'll do a bang up job with healthcare though. Works fine with the DMV/MVD/WHATEVERITISINYOURSTATE!

Rid, that's maddening. I really hope you can get it.

I was hoping for my UOVII figures yesterday or today as I think Justin shipped them out in the same batch as Jon's, but no dice. Hopefully tomorrow. International packages can be so random. Sometimes I get them in a week or less, and sometimes 2+ weeks.

I had one package from Rare Bob take 5 weeks whereas most of my UK buying takes only 2 weeks. It's weird and random.

Damn Rid... That sounds like your postie guys are pretty crappy. I really hope they do get there ok. But if they don't arrive in the next week or so, hit me up and we'll figure something out dude. ;) same goes for anyone who put in an order.

Fingers crossed everyone gets theirs soon!

I have noticed a pattern.  They are perfectly okay with packages from Japan, but anything else international is a crapshoot.  At least I got a notice this time.  Also, anything coming from October Toys or Onell has a huge chance to just not get here.

Man, that sucks the big one... Thats weird you have trouble getting your orders from OT, aren't they in CA too? I've ordered form there heaps of times and it always gets about a week later, without fail. There's something shifty going on at your local PO I reckon dude!

I've had similar experiences with mine, though nothing that frustrating. I always get a delivery attempt notice regardless of whether I'm home or not; delivery guy must have social anxiety or something because he's never knocked. He's also put the wrong date on the notice twice, leading me to go to the P.O. a day earlier than needed.

Also totally agree that the intl delivery can be wildly varied, and yeah Japan does seem to come through much faster than other locations. The shipments I've gotten from UK range from 5 days to over a month. Even had two UK members send packages on the same day, and the one with tracking/confirmation (something like an extra $5 in fees) actually arrived a day after the standard post package. Go figure. ;)

Yeah, I have had a similar experience with international shipping. I get things fastest from Hong Kong, oddly enough. I always give international stuff a month, before even thinking about whether it's late or not.

Speaking of postmen;
My mailman just put a barcode on my mailbox yesterday. The jist is that whoever the mail carrier is, they have to scan the code every time they run the route. Certain houses in the route have them.
Looking it up online, it seems like a way to keep tabs on lazy mailmen.

That reminds me, does anyone know if the route includes mail pickup even if they don't have any mail to deliver to you? I noticed a few times that stuff will stay in my mailbox if I don't have any inbound mail that day.

It is supposed to. But I think the lazy ones skip the boxes that they don't have to deliver too. From what I read, that is part of the barcode idea.

Well, I ping-ponged between two post offices today until the first one surrendered the package.  Then I found out that apparently they are having troubles with at least one mail carrier, and are trying to ferret out who doesn't deliver things - mine is not the only complaint.

But I got 'em!

I was pretty geeked upon the arrival of this little guy today. It got here much faster than I had anticipated!

uchuujin1.jpg

Had to take a comparison shot to show off the dramatic color shift

uchuujin2.jpg

He also came bundled with a free...controversial...minifig.

amp1.jpg

The color is somewhat between MIMP Neon Orange and Neon Red. All the drama aside, it's nice to see one of these guys in-hand after all that. It's a nice little figure :)

Well, the figures themselves weren't a controversy; the artist just had trouble getting along with some folks here which resulted in drama. I remained interested in the sculpts themselves but kind of gave up on picking any of them up in the end as it seemed like it would have been too much hassle. I'm glad I got this one :)

Got my UOVII figures today, too! Will take pics with my good camera and blog about 'em soon, but needless to say, they're stellar.

In addition, I got some MIMP I needed that Bladerunner was cool enough to hook me up with. Now that I have a neon purple Ghost, I only need 4 more NP figures! (does anyone happen to have a spare NP Kraken, Baba Yaga, Chimera or Ogre?  :) ).

Just got these rare Durham windups from the 70's. I have the complete set (2 spideys and 2 hulks) so I'm going to sell these duplicates. :
