Only thing that bugs me is, if they could make Buffaloman's shoulder pad removable, why not Ramenman's? Maybe Ramenman's will function much better?

 

Do you guys think we will be getting an OCE Buffaloman? To my knowledge, the manga colors are silver horns, more yellow skin, yellow eyes. and silver knee spikes. Something like this, which the SAS did:

 

Because right now, we have an OCE 20 Million Powers Mongolman with a Anime Colored Buffaloman wearing an OCE shoulder pad. Honestly, it looks quite similar to this:

The horns aren't quite as silver in the above shot as they are in others. However, the knee spikes aren't black, so I assume that the horns are intended to be a silver. 

 

Buffaloman's Manga Colors aren't quite consistent either. Does anyone know where these shots originate? Because he looks Anime colored, but I believe this to be a manga shot. 

 

In the original print, his horns and spikes are red, and recolored to silver in the re-do. 

 

Ultimate Muscle tends to feature manga colors for the anime, and he has silver horns here. 

 

Not really a huge issue, but something I was thinking about. Also, why would his horns be silver anyway? His race was shown to grow horns from their heads, so wouldn't it be bone?  And his horns were reshaped into a humerus for Kinnikuman's arm. Was it a bone that was reshaped? Or could Dr. Bombe reshape it because it's metal, which he could melt and reshape? Was it originally bone, and after being broken off, they were restored as a metal?

Yep! They look sweet. Pre-orders go up on Friday!! I'm pleased they are both regular releases. Ninja, Budo and Great all turned out pretty pricey.

 

Still undecided on the whole OCE double dip. I really can't justify buying another Warsman and Robin. Atleast I have 5 months now until the next release to think about it.

 

I wonder if we'll see anything new at Tamashii Nations next month!

Snapped up my pre-orders at CDJapan again today. Only 3,700 yen each.

They also still have Warsman and Robin OCE in stock..........so tempted, but I've just dropped £150 on other orders today.

I read that the article discussing previewing Ramenman and Nemesis had an interview and in it was mentioned that Sunshine and Terryman are prototyped. Makes sense, then we'd pretty much have the core of the Tag arc. Plus, we saw Black Hole's teased, so maybe he's soon, along with Pentagon for the 4d combo? 

 

I think we will see an OCE of Ninja, Great and Ashuraman. And maybe Brocken jr. 

 

djblizzard has an amazing Romando collection, and has great pics of them in various teams. Wish we had all of them in Figuarts form.

I think we'll very likely also be getting Super Phoenix, and I think he would come great paired with Mammothman, who is in my opinion, a must. I think Satan Cross would be a big ticket item for many. Prisimman and Omegaman would look very cool, especially alongside the rest, but not extremely necessary.

 

I think we should get all the fated princes as well. Zebra is so cool looking. In my opinion, the rest of his team is somewhat uninteresting, but at least Parthenon would be very cool to have. Manriki, Motorman, and Bikeman, not so much.

 

I love Mariposa, and think his team is one of the best looking all together. However, None are extremely necessary though. King the 100 ton would be cool.

 

I'd like a Big Body, but I'd also really like Leopardon. He's got one of the best designs in the series, IMO.

 

Planetman kind of sucks, IMO, but I'm a huge fan of Junkman, and Sneagator is unquestionably awesome. And I think it would be possible to do many of his transformations in one figure. Only the claw (or t-rex foot) and the turtle would require separate figures.  And if we got all of them, I'd take a Planetman. 

 

I say do all the 7 Devils, even if Mr. Karmen is kinda boring. Pack him with Springman. I think The Mountain and Stecasse King could do fine on their own. 

 

I'd be crazy for Mantaro, Terry the Kid, Kevin Mask, Checkmate, Jaeger, Dik Dik and Wally and Eskara. 

 

And if they could do an alt head on Wally when he's teamed up with Neptuneman, that would be a great time to do an OCE Neuptuneman. 

 

I also love Kamehame, and it would be awesome to have him, but I would settle for just a head coming with the OCE Great. 

 

And I would take Tyrannoclaw and Dialbolic, not sure what the odds of them would be though. Better for Tyrannoclaw. 

 

Oh, and can't forget Geronimo, who would be very appealing with some tomahwaks and a Native American headdress. And I'ma  huge fan of Rikishiman, who would be amazing with his pearled ceremonial skirt.

Man. As much as it pains me to say it. I'm actually thankful for the 5 month rest. My Nikon was out of juice today, so I had to take a crappy phone pick now Great's arrived:

 

 

My display is a mess and I need to spend some time redesigning it without more figures arriving!! lol

 

Realistically, if they want to drop Sunshine, Terryman, Blackhole and Pentagon next year, I'm in, I may even push to a Super Phoenix, Mammothman and Geronimo, but then i'm done. I'm running out of space fast to put 20+ Kinnikuman Figuarts! lol

That's quite the list toyhandle!   I can't see them going that deep into the line but I've been wrong before, ha.  

 

Here's what I hope to see before the line wraps up:

 

1. Terryman - 99% chance

2. Super Phoenix - very good chance

3. Sunshine - would've said unlikely but awesome news that they're working on him

4. Ramenman (anime version) - very good chance

5. Meat-kun - unlikely

6. Blackhole - very good chance

7. Pentagon - good chance

8. Geronimo - good chance

9. Ste-Casse King - unlikely

10. Sneagator (Hand) - when pigs fly

 

For OCE variants, I think we'll see:

I'm not particularly interested in Nisei and haven't been following the new manga series. I did order Nemesis since he looks awesome.

I made this a while ago. Among the cast, I found his changes to be one of the biggest improvements. Extra black trim on the torso, bare hands, more vibrant silvers, a lighter, more saturated blue, and a red scarf to tie it all together. Not as stealthy as the anime colors, but overall more eye catching, Imo. And I agree, I think the demand is there to justify an OCE.

 

 

I see some JoJo figures in the back of your collection Kanji. I don't know anything about JoJo, but I would love for the SH Kinnikuman like to be as large as the SAS JoJo line.
I know very little of JoJo, but it seems like a very comprehensive, diverse toyline. As a JoJo fan, how do you view the SAS line, Kanji?

Damn, what can I say. If I had to describe them in one word, it's dynamic. The great thing about Araki's art is that it's lends itself so well to action figures. A lot of the poses are exaggerated and effeminate, however the characters still come off bad ass. With some figures, you have to spend ages posing them to give them life without making them look goofy/unnatural.

With Jojo and the SAS sculpts you don't need to do any work.

I wish they had stuck with anime colour Ramenman. I'll be angry if they are doing it the other way round and will release a regular Ramenman afterwards. I know Bandai are trying to get me to buy the Robin and Warsman , but i'm still resisting the urge!!

Just a side thought, wouldn't it be awesome to see these characters again in a modern anime? Not a "next generation" series like Ultimate Muscle, but a new cartoon starring the original characters. The fact that an awesome new toyline like this can exist suggests to me that there is still an avid fanbase for Kinnikuman, at least in Japan.

I agree with you 100%!! I would love to see a new Kinnikuman Anime. Toei likely still hold the rights and I guess they have their hands full with Dragon Ball Super at the moment, but I am dying to see a Luffy/Suguru crossover like they did with Toriko!

 

Maybe once DBS ends it's something they'd consider it!! I mean they have brought Tiger Mask back after all these years!

Hey Kanji, sorry I'm just now responding to your response. Very nice review on the JoJo stuff. I have been considering looking into that series since it has such great toys, has such a huge number of installments, which tells me its good, and the Anime Hero on youtube is a big fan of it, and he loves Kinnikuman. 

 

Check out this video from The Anime Hero which shows how a modern Kinnikuman anime of the classic characters might look. This animation comes from a 2009 Pachinko machine:

He gets pretty in depth and points out some great connections, like a reference to Geronimo in Jojo. 

 

 

My OCE Warsman and Robin arrived the other day. I love them. So awesome.

I was looking at their package, and they're not listed in the normal 01,02,03, etc. They're OC01 and OC02. And the front artwork has a prisma-like filter to resemble hand drawn manga art. 

 

I may be reaching here, but perhaps the OCE line will be a sub-line, featuring characters that have only appeared in the Manga so far, such as Nemesis. I'm not sure Nemesis is considered an OCE release, so it'll be interesting to see how they categorize him as either an OC04 or as figure 13. Perhaps more exposure of the newer characters will be a lead into the new series having its own anime?

Got some clearer pics. They were clearly liberal with the metallic paint this time. Looks great on Silverman but I was surprised to see they used it for Terryman's hair!

I'm pretty much speechless right now!! Just seen these and i'm in awe!

 

Anyway....here are my reactions:

 

1) OK, straight off the bat I have to admit the whole OCE thing has me irked somewhat. I could skip Robin Mask and Warsman, but after Ramenman (which to your question was the first OCE only BrockenmanJr) and now Terry, it's becoming increasingly difficult.

2) Brocken Jr. is not only OCE, but is an entirely new sculpt. I like this design very much so will probably be my second character double-dip after Battle for the Throne Suguru.

3) Ashuraman and Neptuneman OCE's are nice, but I put them both in the same category as Robin Mask and Warsman. I'll have to think hard before I drop £200 on those 4.

4) Sunshine, Sunshine, Sunshine! What can I say. I'm worried about how glossy his finish is, was expecting something more yellow, but again I guess this is more manga than anime style. He's a must get though and probably the first guaranteed pickup!

 

This then brings me to the New Perfects!

 

5) After Nemesis, Strong the Budo is a nice addition to the line. It is unfortunate how much he resembles Big, but the change of colour and new head/kendo tare sculpt makes him a unique enough figure. I'll probably consider picking him up if not too expensive. At least Shogun is already OCE, so no need to redo him

6) Finally, Silverman!! Now this figure I really want! It's an awesome design, and whilst his appearance was somewhat brief he is probably my favourite character of the new series! I just hope they finish painting his legs silver, as he looks unfinished!

WOW!!! I'm shocked to see so many new reveals, even if they are just recolors. And here I was thinking that Kinnikuman figuarts was slowing down.

 

I'm really excited for Sunshine. I would've preferred him in a dull yellow color instead of metallic gold but the fact that we're getting him is pretty amazing. Terryman looks awesome as well but a little disappointed that they are releasing the OCE version first coughcashgrabcough. I'll probably just wait for the anime release.

 

I'll pass on the other recolors (Brocken, Ashura, Neptune). Silverman and Strong the Budo are a toss up. I haven't been following the new manga and they look pretty much like Akuma Shogun and Big the Budo. Plus there are so many awesome Figuarts releases that were shown. I'm excited for Tiger Mask! He'll fit right in with the Kinnikuman crew. And I've got my eye on some of the WWE figuarts too. lol. I think I need more ring corners.
