Looks like Jenny was right about the mask removal match.. but apparently it's a bit more severe than that.

She says a lot of the Japanese fans are equally as frustrated with the arc as we are.

Baoh and Guyver... seperated at birth?
Apparently Matto's partner in crime and also the originator of the "Mari is Akuma Shogun" and "Douche Suguru is Big the Budo" theories.

Update (7/1/2012 [7th Jan]) - Years away can calm a mind down quite well. I don't think of myself as some maligned martyr of the site. Rather it's just that I was unfortunately caught by the mudslinging of a rather unpleasant (and unprofessional) translator, who didn't like people taking the spotlight away from him, particularly if they happened to actually be able to properly translate work, as opposed to him. Nevertheless, despite the fact that all my work was my own, I got constantly accused of plagiarism, thanks to this unpleasant individual constantly saying how I stole his work. (When rather, it was going to end up being the other way round.)
I'm a lot more forgiving about the whole ideal, with how I ended up getting treated on this forum, as a result of this incident, but at the same time, I am still not in any mind to come back and join in again, nor will I uplaod any more of my translation work on here. This includes any of my old work, or my newer and much more accurate work. Some may see this as being petty, spiteful or based off an old grudge, and you may be right. However, I thought I'd explain things a little.

Which I'm sure had many Bleach and Naruto "Gimme-gimme-gimme" fans jumping off high staircases.
You say that as if it were a tragedy.

Nice to know the "Oh C'MON!" factor defies cultural borders when it comes to fandom, and it's not just us.
Seriously, this should be one of Yude's finest sagas in Kinniku-history, and they're more or less RUINING IT.

I am a Japanese, living in Japan.
Weekly PLAYBOY magazine suspends publication during these Golden Week holidays,
and it will be released on next Monday.
It was also difficult for me to understand that Mantaro accepted the mask removal rule,
even though he had been taught by his father that a member of Kinniku clan should not refuse any death match rule proposed by the opponent.
If Mantaro wins, Suguru should die, which will result in Mantaro's disappearance,
needless to say about the case Mantaro loses.
I wonder no mates mention this point, however hard they opposes to Suguru's proposal.
Might the author have failed to recognize?
We Japanese, like most of the readers overseas, also think that this saga has impaired many nice characters' dignity and the story is lingering.
I think that the author would like to try new style, but it doesn't work well.

Anyway, I'm not so shocked that Mantaro accepted. I'm shocked that Suguru even suggested it in the first place. I too wonder what is with that spider/hourglass curse too.

Maybe Yude will do something, like interrupt the match, or someone maybe die

Oh! That'd be an awesome plot-twist! Scar, Jade, Turbinski, Barrierfreeman, and Checkmate's spirits all like becoming an anti-Akuma Shogun and negating the Spider's Curse that way!

Hi! Welcome to our crazy thread here.
What do fans over in Japan think about the spider/hourglass curse?
We don't know either why Suguru still seems to have the hourglass inside him.
There may be three stories:
1st: Actually, Mari did not hugged Suguru, because she couldn't or Suguru refused.
2nd: In fact, it's not Mari who is a keyperson of releasing the curse.
3rd: There should be additional keyperson to release the curse. That is, Mari is not the only keyperson.
The 2nd idea above is unrealistic, because Neptuneman admitted that Jikan-choujin was so cunning that he selected Mari as the keyperson, who seemed to be the last person to hug Suguru since she would keep Bibibinba, Suguru's fiancee, at distance.
I think the 1st one is most likely to be true.
But if so, why it took many weeks to describe Mari related stories?

I thought it was only during... well, intimate moments. Am I remembering incorrectly?
If Terryman is lacing up Kinn's mask...

Yes, considering the manga's predisponency, the severer the rule is, the more inevitable it is that Mantaro should accept it.
The worse is the fact that Suguru proposed the ridiculous rule.
Many fans in Japan are disaffeted at the change of Suguru's personality in this saga,
that is, Suguru has been distrusted the new generations and has often insulted them,
while Terry, Robin and Brocken realized that they are truly new generations, their sons and pulil, coming from the future.
However, I sometimes feel that Suguru may have understood that Mantaro is his real son,
and this is why he treats Mantaro cruelly so that he should test the son.
Anyway, mask removal rule is ridiculous because Mantaro should disappear whichever team would win.

Kinnikuman can change his mask in front of people, because the face flash stops them from seeing his face (he does it in Muscle Returns). It doesn't last very long, though. When is someone allowed to see you with your mask off if you're a Kinniku?
