I would describe battle beasts as anthropomorphic beasts with cybernetic armor implants. All the original battle beasts I can think of had lots of visible "beast" parts.

I see that less so here, primarily in the chest area, where they look like just big robotic suits overtop of the beast, rather than small armor add-ons to the beast. I'm talking about the deer or the hamster for example who look, to me, like they just slipped into a mech suit. Some of them, like the Marlin, I think look pretty good and manage to hide the blockiness, others, not so much.

What are these viable "Beast" parts you speak of that the new designs do not have ?

Small armor add-ons ? Every Beast in the original line and the new line have the exact same style of body armor.
Torso/Waist/Shoulders/Wrists/Shins, with some exceptions.

YES!!!
Thanks to the Social Media and the BS fans out there in Tokyo we were pretty well updated about the new Beast Sage figures at the Takara/Tomy booth at the Tokyo Toy Show 2012.

Think its great to see that eventhough most of us were far away from the fire we all managed to get close to it seeing these pics with a huge AAAWWWWW factor. Guess there are figs enough to convince everyone that there are some seriously cool figs comming up in Sept. which will be a long wait.................. And I don't think the upcomming news will have a lot of secrets for us anymore now but as soon as there is news we will know it :)

Thanks for the great photo's and updates so far LORD, you did a great job bringing us within the walls of the TTS!

And there might be some more good news for the US/EU as the cards already have the English names on them which together with the Englis spoken commercial we've seen before is a big reason to assume they might get to other continents soon!

Let's hope so!

Agreed. For example, I am not that into Rise of the Beasts or the Mini Mates BB line- And I won't be posting my criticisms in those forums because I respect those who are excited about them. I like the official new spin Takara is putting out; it's like LBs with orbs and guns following BBs with rubs and spears.

I wasn't posting to try and stir up trouble - I'm sorry you saw my criticism of Takara's Beast Saga figures as representing a lack of respect towards you and other Beast Saga fans. I'm not used to one's opinion of figure designs being equated to respect for those who like said designs.

In fact I'm used to quite the opposite - criticism of a figure is just that - and has not correlation to your respect for people.

My only beef is that the figures don't seem to hold their shield the way you would think they should, but instead they hold the shield in the same manner they would hold a gun, which doesn't make much sense. Oh well.

Edit- Just notice yup they are also hollow without there dice. Which is kind of weird to see. I imagine the resale value of these figures will take a big hit if the dice is lost. http://twitpic.com/9xb57f

Looks like one issue of Saikyojump will have a promo DVD, but if it's just an excited announcer explaining the rules or a cgi cartoon like the commercial I can't tell from just that ad.

Also the cat and dog civilians from the Manga got toys, I wonder if some of the other minor characters from the preview will have toys as well (crab, old man dog with mustache)

Yep, Also the crocodile has 2 colour schemes too ->

and

my guess is this is where the "100 different figures" will come from. Most likely 40 unique sculpts, and then a few colour variants.

I noticed one of the birds, the dolphin and perhaps the armadillo with 2 dif colour schemes. I thought they might be differences between prototypes and finals, but maybe not...

The second crocodile looks so much better then the first.
I don't like the unpainted head armor on the blue version.
Maybe the silver is the version coming with the coliseum set ? Or is it confirmed to be a ghost version ?

I was wondering about the unpainted strips on the head as well. Weren't they painted on that figure in the original pictures. I'm betting that many of the figures aren't necessarily the final versions that we'll end up getting. I do like the second crocodile.
I also found it odd that none of the chase figures were shown (as far as I could see anyway). Kind of curious to see how many get that treatment. Hoping that at least the shark and eagle get similar figs to the lion that was shown in the preorder pics.

I agree on the shields. They are on the small side and they can only hold them correctly with there arm down not at chest level where you expect a warrior to hold up its shield.

I don't think they are hollow, I believe the have a shooting gimmick from the backside that can be pulled back to hit the dice out of the chest.
I don't think the resale value will be down as they are selling booster packs of dice.
Unless they come with a signature exclusive dice each.
I imagine what dice you choose to use plays a integral part in the game.

I think that might be exactly the same crocodile as the other blue one...check out the position of the "Bill Sword" beast behind him, and you'll see he is in exactly the same position, as well as the floor that they are standing on being the same :)

Maybe the camera managed to see more detail in the colour or something....?
