Metal gear solid is crap.
Nah. Truthfully, the people who don't like the Metal Gear Solid franchise don't like it because the plot is too complicated for them to understand. Not only that, but it is meant to be played by gamers who are patient and employ strategy and thinking throughout their playthroughs. People nowadays have very low attention spans (aka A.D.D.) and thus don't care for story and just want to shoot things non-stop, which explains why they can't appreciate greatness like this series.
The Metal Gear Solid franchise is revered by many gamers and game developers because each of its installments are quality games. Plain and simple. Nobody does tactical espionage quite like Hideo Kojima. His games just have a certain charm that cannot be replicated in other games.
Sorry but you really arnt helping your case by implying everyone who does not like MGS is incapable of understajding good plot(also implying MGS has a good plot) , etc... you also dont help by going on a rant in general, especially when the rant is about how the series is single greatest achievment in all of human history.
You would have been better of saying "well to each his own man." or "everyones taste is different." instead of being overtaken by your fanboyism. Im also tempted to say your post was a troll post.

Did I say the series is the single greatest achievement in all of human history? Nope, I sure didn't. Read more carefully next time.
And you're inclined to believe that I made a troll post? Please, you're one to talk. All you posted was "Metal Gear Solid is crap". Even though this post of yours was edited from what you originally posted (and I didn't see what you originally posted), you could have at least given some valid reasons defending why you feel it is a bad series. However, you didn't even bother to give any reasoning whatsoever to substantiate your claim. A post as shallow as that one is considered a troll post, not mine.
Anyways, not that I've gotten that out of the way, is there anyone who can tell me approximately how long both this current arc and the Survivor for the Throne arc take place after the Dream Tag arc? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Blackbeard: Taking anything serious in this thread = extreme lawls.
I'm so glad this thread has become my Monkey Bars. ;D
I just get slightly annoyed when people say something is crap with nothing to back up their stance. If he said, "I don't like the Metal Gear Solid franchise", I wouldn't have had a problem with that at all. That's fine. There's a big difference between saying you don't like something and saying something is crap. Objectively speaking here, the MGS games are very well made. Hideo Kojima and his team of professionals put a lot of time and effort into each installment, and it certainly shows because all of the games are "AAA" caliber. With that being said, they are not crap, and that is a fact. You go to any gaming site and check out the reviews for the games, for you'll see that all of them have very high scores. But enough of me telling you this since I'm sure you're very well aware of what I'm talking about.
And yeah, I'm not trying to take things seriously either. I just can't help but show my distaste for Yude's current storyline right now. We all know they're capable of much better than what they're giving us right now. It was a very interesting concept in the beginning (I was actually intrigued by the plot before), but things have seriously gone downhill from there.
In the meantime, I think I'll join you on your Monkey Bars as well. They are far more entertaining that the current story, and I could use a good laugh

Originally i did back myself up, but someone edited my post and removed all MGS related bashing. I cant be bothered typing it all out again if some butthurt mod or whatever is gonna edit my posts and remove it. Though with how hard you guys are blindly sucking Hideo Kojima's penis i dont think it is even neccesary for me to explain myself. And FYI, popular does not mean good and the fact you believe ratings are any kind of reliable source on how good a game is proves you know nothing of games. By that standpoint, Tony Hawks Proskater 3 is the single greatest game of all time.
Oh and guys cut it out with the overused/missused 4chan humor. If you are gonna use it, use it well, stop it with this "extreme lawls" shizznit and thinking of yourselves as epic trolls and saying stuff like "Look at the derailing I started, I'm so proud of myself!" . You dont know what trolling is... none of you...

No matter what, a game that is terrible won't be "AAA" caliber. Ratings are very subjective, but it is easy to discern between what is garbage and what is quality. I'll also concede that some games are overrated (when looking at things objectively) because of this rating system.
And yes, ratings do serve as a relative indication as to how good a game is. It's true they may be slightly skewed or that there may even be some outliers for that matter, but keeping this in mind they are one of the things gamers look at when assessing how good or bad something is.
And you speak to me in a condescending manner telling me I know nothing about video games? Please, I've probably been playing games since before you were born. I can also tell that you don't know what the hell you're talking about since you stated Tony Hawks Proskater 3 is the single greatest game of all time according to reviews. It's not even in the top 50, so it shows how much you know. Try again, kid.
Anyways, if you want to continue this argument with me, we'll take it over to PM's and I'll proceed to pwn you over there. Otherwise, keep quiet on things you're not knowledgeable of.

Obviously this isn't going to end well since, well, I'm me, and now Matto going to crank his efforts up to twelve. But it'll be fun.

Kid, this wonderful place we call the internets is not full of BFFs you will instantly find. People don't have the same opinion as you, and besides, I haven't forgotten your attempts to lable me a troll
Wanna be my BFF?
Geez, I only make a comparison to MGS and all of the sudden we have SERIOUS posting. I didn't even predict this. Usually my derailing is mostly on topic since it somewhat relates to the MAIN TOPIC on hand. Dammit Kojima, you ruin everything you touch (okay, not really, I loved MGS2).
Pre-Release Time Chojin Arc Volume 18 page, in Japanese (S-Manga) The page should go up June 19.
No Volume 24 from Viz yet. Lol Viz sux.

I hate how people like garbage made games and say their great when in fact the older titles are supreme. That's like comparing Killer Instinct 1 and 2 which in my eyes growing up at the arcades are the 2 greatest fighting games ever. Not because its the names its because you can do endless combos, after you do them the announcer screams "KILLER COMBO" or "ULTRAAAAAAA". Compare that to the new Mortal Kombat which is pretty much a joke since Mortal Kombat was a garbage made game to begin with after "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3" (Sega Saturn Port) being as the best one released. After the other's were all garbage to date.
A knowledgeable gamer would know what's good to what's overly hyped. People tend to get games that are very hyped, When in fact those games don't live up to it. Wolverine's game is a great game not because it wasn't hyped at all to begin with, But also since it was more like an indy release so it didn't get much exposure. Which is great because people wouldn't know what their missing out on. Terminator Salvation is another great game as well because you can do almost anything in it not only that but the game play is a lot of fun, that's tons of replay value. I'd like to say "F.E.A.R. 2" is a great game as well since I'm big on FPS, Which it is but the ending is what destroyed the game for me. It was another pop add to promote part 3.
But from all the games I've ever played to date and the few that I do love a lot being a kid is classics like, Double Dragon, Battletoads, Panzer Dragoon Series, Virtua Fighter 1 was my favorite out of all of them still because that was the first 3D fighting game ever made and that had great game play. Mr. Bones, Guardian Heroes (Sega Saturn Port) not that garbage on one of those lame Gameboy remakes. Maximum Carnage is one of the best beat em up's ever released hands down I never played a game that can match to that era of gaming. Not only in the music within it but also the fun factor of it. Act Raiser 1 and 2 are very classic titles not only because they weren't known that much but because also the music was really symphonic and the game play was out of this world for that era.
Every first machine that came out from Nintendo, SNES, Sega, Genesis, PS1, N64 (yeah although the graphics were all "Bitmaps" we still loved Zelda and the wrestling games from Aki. even Turbo Graphix 16 and so on were all awesome. Machines now that come out are overly hyped has a horrible line up of games. I don't care how good they look their still garbage because instead of taking their time to make a great game they wanted to make it look as real as possible which makes the game garbage when you cant even figure out how to play it which I can name tons of those out on PS3 and X-Box 360. But just like Blackbeard said Metal Gear has never had a bad game, that's not including that piece of garbage that was on NES that wasn't even made by Kojima.

Moreso when you realize that it's already gone on twice as long as the longest arc in G1.Hopping back to the start of this topic, I just realized that this current story arc has gone on for about four years now. Now I know there have been delays for various reasons, but that seems like an insanely long time for a single plot-line in this type of manga, doesn't it?

Actually, what will precisely happen when the hourglass runs out? Will he die or just bad stuff'll happen?
