I'm going to guess hard plastic, like Bot Shots, Bakugan, etc.

Yeah, looks that way too. I'd prefer a bit softer, but that's cool.

Looking at the detail in the sculpts (slight undercuts) I'm going to guess that they'll be flexible PVC.

I'm thinking they're basically constructed the same as the vintage Laser Beasts. Instead of the clear symbol magnifier in the chest, Beast Saga figures have a sheath/shooter for the die.

The other thing I noticed is that there may be an additional point of articulation in the neck. At least on the figures that would allow it (the birds for example or smaller necked characters. We've seen the hawk and the rabbit with heads facing forward and turned.)

That's funny, I did the same thing. Of course, I didn't think there would be so many so I may have to clear some random carded stuff (Army Ants, MIMP, OMFG, etc.) off the shelf to make room. It's right above the TV so when the PS3 is loading I stare at the empty space and smile knowing that a bunch of awesome figures will be sitting there in a few months. Wife's not crazy about it but oh well, the kids are excited for any doubles I get and I'm thinking I'll have plenty to trade with people here (especially chase figs, since I don't put the value on them that most do). Its gonna be a long few months though...

Wow the cube thing looks neat, maybe they will have clear blast effects that have a cube base to look like they are shooting them out.

anyone els notice that all the Air tribe have proper wings on their backs, except for owl, who seems to be sporting the stratos/he-man wings? I think I'll hold off on pre-ordering, and just build a collection from everybody's extras.

I finaly finished reading this thread. I am very excited. I read through some really good points. Most of the characters are pretty and some are less than desirable (Hampster). I have to say overall my hats off to them. This line is going to be great. I just don't think it will have the same enjoyment as collecting the original line. This doesn't mean I am not going to collect them all.

At first the hamster was kind of a shocker, but he has really grown on me and I imagine he will become a favorite of many collectors. His unique look and small size make him stand out. I agree that nothing will replace the originals (the love had to start somewhere!), but I think because it has been so long since a proper revival has happened, collecting these will be great.
I'm really just happy to have something new to collect that I actually want instead of buying other toy lines that aren't up to snuff just to be collecting something (I'm looking at you, Marvel Universe).

Honestly, I may wind up liking these more than the originals.
1) The sculpts are way more involved, and
2) I can actually play the game, with my ten year old daughter. While, in years past, I may have poo-poo'ed the whole dice gimmick, having a kid really makes the gameplay feature more appealing.

The pink heart skunk-thing is my least favorite so far...

I would disagree based on what all four of them are wearing and the fact that their ages would dictate that they chose their outfits themselves :p

It's cool they now include guns and shields into the mix as normal weaponry. I like all the tridents but the lion's sword looks too small imo.

The second man from left is Choji Yoshikawa. It seems that he went here to show the Beast Saga figures. If you google its name you will read that he had already worked on a lot of great lines like Pokemon. The strange part of this story is the fact that Choji Yoshikawa is more in anime than in toys. A good sign of a Beast Saga anime soon ?

I think that is an apron he has on.

These look very nice but unless they are stateside releases I probably won't be importing.
