Wow! Surprise surprise! Went by my local Wal-Mart today, and they had some Wave 5 out. Sadly someone beat me to the punch. :) So no Gray Hulks, Electro, Guardian, or Daredevil repaint. But I did get the Iron Fist variant, Black spidey??(looks more like the dark blue one, and less like the con proto), Sub-Mariner, and Silver Centurion. Stopped at a bunch of other stores as well, a couple of my other Wally worlds had more Wave 5, but none of the ones I still needed. No sign of SW Wave 2. I suspect to see more popping up within the weeks...I just hope I can get that blasted Gray Hulk...it's the only one I need from the first 4 waves, and it's maddening.

I opened them after my last post. I have to say, Namor is the Shizznit! And a new body type is refreshing.
Silver Centurion's paint apps are superb too.
Spiderman is just another waste of plastic, and a poor final production variant.

Iron Fist is kind of rough around the edges, but for you completest guys, don't think your getting a basic repaint. He actually has all new Forearms and Lower Legs. Personally I think they are too rough looking though, as his new hands just don't flush with the forearm or the flesh paint apps running up the arms...I preferred the longer hand/wrist, but I think they were thinking ahead, and making the body more adjustable to future figures. He has new feet and ankles featuring the Swivel/Hinge Ankle also. Pretty cool.

who can we contact to stop this plague of spider man figures? we need to start an online campaign to eliminate all basic forms of webhead. unless there's a really different spiderman figure, i won't be buying any more. i have the black costume spidey and the secret wars spidey, that's all i need. just because you change the color of the paint slightly, but everything else remains the same, doesn't mean it's a new spider man. if anything, there's just as much variation in a particular waves consistency that they could stop with the "dark blue", "darker blue", "lighter blue" bullshizznit. they really make you want to hate spider man. i think the next spider man i see is going to get a fist full of knuckles for being lame.

It's just a lame attempt to keep money rolling out of the pockets of collectors. A number of folks made it clear that they were tired of Spider-Man figures at the Hasbro panel during the con I believe. The guys just don't seem to get it. Nobody cares about basic spider-man figures with stupid gimmick accessories, but they fail to understand why people want, say, the paper bag spidey so much. We have one more spidey to deal with before this years run is finished, and that is the lamo Black Costume Spidey repaint.....How the heck can you even repaint this figure? I think it's going to be missing the blue wash, but still. House of M is gonna be cool though. I just hope there aren't any other spiderman figs next year....unless it's a Spider-Man 2099...I'd dig that. They could have at least put the webbing deco under the arms of one of the regular spideys.

But Doom, Ultron, Magneto, the Wrecking Crew, and Thor will make up for it I think.

2099 spidey would be okay since it is a different design. i think hasbro needs to decide if this is going to be a collector's line or a kids line. if they want to keep the collectors happy they need to ditch the million identical versions of spider man campaign. if all they care about is catering to stupid little kids who don't understand what a screwjob is, then by all means, let the spideys fly.

just a quick question, how do we know that grey hulk is actually going to be released with the first offering of wave 5? i mean, are we only basing this on online rumors or is there somewhere where hasbro is actually giving out information?

i understand that some areas are already getting wave 5 and grey hulk has been spotted, but these early wave 5 recipients may already have received a first wave 5 offering and are already into a second or third.

am i just getting crazy because my area still has no wave 5, secret wars wave 2 or any handful of heroes?

EntertainmentEarth has been selling preorder case assortments of Marvel Universe since Wave 1. Each case assortment is predetermined by Hasbro's distribution department, and relays the info to potential purchasers such as wal-mart or EE. Sometimes there are multiple case assortments put up for preorder initially. So it's possible that Gray Hulk is only in a certain case assortment, as I know he was slotted for the first listed assortment. These preorders are the result of the rumors.

Also as you recall. Hasbrotoyshop had Gray Hulks up for preorder recently. So it's obvious that they made more and they will be available on pegs again. Wave 5 has only been reported on pegs for the last week or two online. Essentially, the assortment available in your store depends on it's size, and whether they order many toys. Also each individual store may manage their department differently than other stores. This is why I'm still seeing only Wave 3 case assortments at a few of my Wal-marts, where as everyone else is still stocked to the hilt with Wave 4. Also one stores first assortment may in fact be a secondary case assortment due to the fact that some, such as K-mart, won't order another case till all previous stock of the item is sold out. Many times this crap is already in the stock rooms of some stores waiting to be pegged. However they won't put the items out until previous stock is effectively depleted. That's why my favorite Target hasn't restocked new MU figs for a month now, either they have not yet ordered more, the order hasn't arrived, or they are waiting for peg warmers to disappear. They still have some figs on the pegs, so won't put anymore out. At least that's what I'm getting from it. Some stores just order more than others though.

here are all the different case revisions available for wave 5 at EE.com

http://www.entertain...umber=HMV78230E
http://www.entertain...mber=HMV78230E1
http://www.entertain...mber=HMV78230E2
http://www.entertain...mber=HMV78230E3
http://www.entertain...mber=HMV78230E4

As you will see only the first case has Gray Hulk slotted....and sadly only one per case. Looks like a little fight will be necessary.

well, i've seen entertainment earths website. but some of their other items they have pictures for are basically just mock-ups they've put together themselves without any real info to go on. that's why i was wondering if hasbro has any press releases stating what they're shipping out or if everyone is just going off of sites like entertainment earth.

Well the pic isn't what you look at. There is a list of what is included in each case if you scroll down. Of note (subject to change) is also at the bottom of each list...I think some of those revision cases may change, but I don't see it. Most of the case assortments put up on EE so far appear to have been accurate. I don't see why they would cut Electro or Namor from other wave 5 assortments so quickly though. Electro is going to be a big seller I know. I would hate to wait even longer for repacks of Electro to get one. I'm already pissed about Gray Hulk. I literally searched every wal-mart, K-mart, target, and toys'r'us within a half state drive from where I live trying to find a straggler somewhere.

As for official Hasbro annoucements on case assortments...I don't think they do that. At least I havn't found it. Almost every other person I've seen post about it, mentions what EE has up. They already have a preorder for Wave 6 up too, but there isn't anything really there.

****EDIT**** My bad, well they do have a case list up for 6...just not a mock photo yet...is that kind of weird? I thought this was gonna be Wave 1 for 2010.

Holy Crap.... I was wrong. I finally took my Wave 1 Ironfist out of his display to compare him with the Wave 5 one...Wave 5 IF is using the Black Costume Spider-Man body. Weird. But I honestly didn't even notice. Maybe we are seeing the first officially retired Body Type. Guess we will know when those Silver Surfer and Human Torch repacks hit shelves. Maybe it was just easier for them to use the spidey bod instead of carving up a new fist for the original.

maybe they're waiting until new pics of the the jean grey and wolverine come out. so far the pics for these ones are dreadful.

and just because they're listed as wave 6 there, doesn't mean that they're not really just wave 1 2010. i still find entertainment earth a suspicious source for release news. they could just be calling it wave 6 to cut down on confusion or because they really don't know any better. or hasbro has changed the way they were going to number the figures or what they're going to call the wave names. hell, it could even be raining purple leprechauns in costa rica for all we know.

Geez!! I'm wrong again. The wave 5 spidey I got, and the only one I could find, was the upside down packaged variant...It was originally thought that this was supposed to be the Black/Red spidey packed differently....turns out he is a variant of a variant. The upside down w5 spidey is a darker dark blue than the wave 3 variant. And the right side up Spidey is in fact completely black/red. The upside down spidey has a black washed webbing as well. Very sneaky Hasbro...NOW STOP SCREWING WITH ME!!!

I just saw the one up on Comicfigs.net And his is Pure black. Crud...means I have another spidey I have to buy.

I guess I have to carry a case with all my MU figs in it when i go shopping to make sure I'm not passing up variants.

I saw a clear-blue guy that had a varient on the shelf at Wal*Mart. He was wearing pants... or he wasn't.

I also saw a Plastic Man figure from Batman: Brave and the Bold. Wow. How you could make Plastic Man and have him not smiling or smirking, and with almost no chin to speak of I do not know. Is that how he looked in the show? (and the jointing? GAH! Friggin' AWFUL. GIANT FREAKING HOLES WHERE HE MOVED! I came fifty feet from buying it, too, just because it was Plaz.)

Wow...

I just checked out that site. Apparently, there's been only one simi-accurate version of The Punisher, and it was the 'Johnny Tower' Punisher from the War Zone issues.

There's one that looks like TED RAMI more than The Punisher.

The best looking Punisher figure was the MIGHTY MUGG. That's rediculous!

Does anyone know of any stands that fit the footholes for these figures. The only ones I have an abundance of lying around were the vintage GI Joe stands and those pegs are far too big for the teeny little holes in these guys' feet. Any ideas?
