No, just hoping he would've mellowed out.

And V-Jump's only four volumes anyways. I'm no translator, but I've seen people tackle worse, like the people doing the Saint Seiya Lost Canvas scans... chapter updates every three days. That's *unreal*.

Baoh and Guyver... seperated at birth?
Apparently Matto's partner in crime and also the originator of the "Mari is Akuma Shogun" and "Douche Suguru is Big the Budo" theories.

What is to be disappointed by semi-entertainment?

...The fate of the V-Jump scanlation. =(

Did he officially drop it? I haven't been keeping up with things since scanlating Kinnikman took a break.

To be fair, that IS unreal, unless the people doing those scans have absolutely little to no work to do other than that. I've had barely any time to translate, starting uni here, and quite a few of our other translators have similar situations. Even KM had his own line of work, which will have priority over what is essentially a hobby or part-time interest.

Former resident song translator, and as a result, probably the distant, insignificant relative of the translation family on this board.

Update (7/1/2012 [7th Jan]) - Years away can calm a mind down quite well. I don't think of myself as some maligned martyr of the site. Rather it's just that I was unfortunately caught by the mudslinging of a rather unpleasant (and unprofessional) translator, who didn't like people taking the spotlight away from him, particularly if they happened to actually be able to properly translate work, as opposed to him. Nevertheless, despite the fact that all my work was my own, I got constantly accused of plagiarism, thanks to this unpleasant individual constantly saying how I stole his work. (When rather, it was going to end up being the other way round.)

I'm a lot more forgiving about the whole ideal, with how I ended up getting treated on this forum, as a result of this incident, but at the same time, I am still not in any mind to come back and join in again, nor will I uplaod any more of my translation work on here. This includes any of my old work, or my newer and much more accurate work. Some may see this as being petty, spiteful or based off an old grudge, and you may be right. However, I thought I'd explain things a little.

Well, to be fair, I couldn't help out all that much on the project (V-Jump). I wanted to help out again, but then things got out of hand... SO yeah. I'll just stick around the scanlation discussion to wait and see.

I haven't heard anything about the V-Jump project since K_M got banned. Aside from not understand the translations a bit (one part about Mantaro coming to Earth in a space ship completely went over my head), I had no trouble adding a bit of my personal touch to the dialog. Fan fiction is good and all for my writing skills, but with the way FF.net's been lately, I don't know if I want to bother.

Such is life.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Well, work is important.

Are you going to do sfx as well (which you're GREAT at), or not (since they take SOOO much time)?

I'd say "Thanks for your help, Kenni."

If you find any/have any good sound effect libraries around, I wouldn't mind getting 'em. I don't really need exact duplicates of the sounds-- I'm not even trying that. I wanted to do the effects like a resume-type of thing to show I could place effects well and create a few of my own.

Said work doesn't involve politics, so I don't see why you couldn't go for it.

Another draw. Neptuneman, Mammothman, Thunder and Lightning vs Mantaro, Chaos, Suguru and Terryman as the real final match

The EPIC EPICNESS FAIL should be saved for the arc ending.

Unless this next chapter update proves otherwise. GO YUDE GO!

Particularly seeing as the pun is actually an eye rhyme, since "Yude" is pronounced like "You-Day" (I would use the phonetic alphabet, but one, that's just the old language student in me, two, it's too much work to get it all there, and three, that's just showing off.)

Wouldn't Yuuh-deh be closer? Because "you" would be "yuu" and "day" would be "dei".

A true point. But in all honesty, I just meant a way that English speakers would get straight away.

Native English speakers have this fascinating habit of butchering the pronounciation of every foreign word they come across anyway.

Though as a Swede, I have the luxury of already having every Japanese pronounciation natively in my language.
