Very cool! Glad to see you finally got your figures! Also happy to see you got your wave 2 figures first, its kind of like being rewarded for having to wait so friggin' long for the first set!
So now that you have all these guys, are you liking them any better? I'm digging that croc, but I have to wait until Monday before I get mine.

Thanks, guess I was just lucky the 1st wave was delayed that long it was worth to wait for the 2nd wave......... ;)

But now I've had a bunch of them in hand which for me felt like a necessity to judge this new line I've to admitt I'm pretty impressed.
Not sure if this is due to the fact of seeing/having them all together now because an army always looks more impressive than a single figure or if they really did that well. For sure there are some awesome figures in there with the Falcon and Shark as my top favorites. On the other hand I'm not really happy with what they did with the weapons and shields as the material is way to flexible. The Hamster feels like a stand alone warrior amongst the others as he seems like way out of place between those huge bodies of the others. So in the end I think they did a good job knowing it will always be impossible to get close to the vintage line because I still believe these are the most awesome sculpts ever and beside that they've the emotional bonus of the nostalgic behind it.

For now I'm in ;)

For anybody who has the new beasts. Which beast is represented on the back of the cards for the eagle and gorilla? The official website shows a lion for the eagle and the swordfish for the gorilla. I figured those had to be temporary, as all the other beast's cards show another beast from their same tribe.

Got a Swordfish on the Gorilla Card and a Walrus on the Crocodile Card.
Haven't looked into the Eagle card yet but it might be the Lion since the Swordfish matched the Gorilla.

Try shining a light down over the figures and look at the dice in their chests. I'm going to try to get some sort of lighting to place over my figures once I finally get their display figured out.

That's a mirror to reflect the light into the chest so the dice light up when the beast is held under a light source.

LOL it actually was one of the shoots I did with the figs posing into the daylight.
When I looked at it from the top I saw all these little colorfull effects showing.
So there's no need to use some kind of strong light source as its just daylight, the material they have used for the dice shooter has a high level of accumulation of light so even with a minimal lightsource its transfered. If you look at the back of the dice shooter you see a little sloped transparent piece in it, its this part that's responsible for the effect when the figure (with dice) is placed in the light.
Don't know if this was the actuall design idea or its just a lucky coincidence but its a nice effect.

The otherway around so with a dice thats lightning up is less easy to do since the black end part on the dice shooter is blocking the part which would transfer the light forward more directly. Now you've to shine on the transparent part that's open on the back but this indirect way doesn't deliver enough reflection.

So this back glow thingy is nice but it would've been more cool if they'd worked away around the other way to let the dices glow more easy instead.

Maybe these little reflections are the spirits of each tribe showing ;)

Had to give it a try the otherway around as well with the dices glowing but as expected its MUCH harder to realise.
I actually had a little light source placed directly in the slot of the transparent part of the dice shooter in the back to get a good effect with it. But it did result in some nice shots again.

3 Generations of Beastformers (BB-LB-BS)
What do you think are the Beast Saga figures the 2012 evolution of their vintage ancestors or are they a merge between the BB and LB figs when it comes to these specific figures of animals that were represented in all three lines.

anyone else notice that the gorilla and crocodile BS figures come with the same weapons as the swordfish and giraffe. Thats kind of a let down. I guess we can expect to see more reuse of the same weapons down the line.

Have there been any reuse of the molds for the Beasts themselves though? If we have to sacrifice weapon variety for that, I'm cool with it. Considering how flimsy the weapons are, it looks like they aren't putting too much priority on that part of this toyline.

Don't worry the figures themselves will be all individual sculpts!
The weapons seem to be just an extra gimmick that's not getting a lot of priority within the Beast Saga line...
Would've been cool if they had invested the same amount of time/detail as they did on the Laser Beasts weapons, but its 2012 now folks ;)

That's disappointing news. I would have hoped they were designing signature weapons for each.

Since this line was designed around the game element, I imagine that the weapons simply weren't a priority. I don't really care too much about having unique weapons, but it would be nice to have them at least be straight when I pull them out of the package.
As long as they continue to use unique sculpts for the beasts themselves I'll be happy.

I find it disappointing as well. Especially when a few of the weapons really speak to the character - like the Deer's drill-like sword or the Sharks' trident.

The official Takara website has been updated with the November releases. The card for the wolf looks awesome! Also, look on the back of the turtle's card. It looks like it could either be the zebra or maybe an unannounced seahorse. The owl's armor's paint job also looks way better than we've seen.
