i haven't seen any foot stands that work yet, but since it looks like the 2010 figs are all coming with foot stands of their own i would venture a guess that you'd be able to buy spare foot stands from hasbrotoyshop.com in the future. i've seen them trying to move bulk star wars stands in the past.

in other news, it looks like secret wars sets 1 & 2 are now on their website. talk about rolling the dice.

It's interesting that you guys brought up Stands again. I just put my MU figs on restriction until Hasbro releases a bulk stand pack for the 2009 figs. I had them all in my display, but every single time I went to move someone or put them back I would bump someone and then DOMINOS!!! Got sick of that. So I certainly hope Hasbro gets some stands soon. I'm tired of putting all my favorite figures in ziploc bags around here because of a lack of stands. :D

I got a nice surprise first thing this morning! I had of course planned on hitting the stores this morning to find the rest of Wave 5. However my Dad shows up this morning, My Dad has always been interested in my hobbies ever since I was begging him for change at the fleamarket when I was a toddler, and he has a Wal-Mart bag in his hand.

"Is this what you were looking for?" and proceeds to pull what out of the bag? Nothing...BUT A MUTHAFAJUNKIN GREY HULK!!! :woot: Man he's my ultimate hero! :D He had stopped by Wal-Mart, and as he usually does, he stopped by the toy section, he sometimes calls me to ask if there is anything particular I'm looking for, and well Grey Hulk has been on my list for a while. He called me this morning, but I wasn't awake yet, so I missed the call. What's so Cool, yet kind of sad, is that he said when he pulled it off the peg some other guy walked up and saw what he had and sighed "OH Man!" :p I would have hit this Wal-Mart when I got up and running, but my Dad literally got to the Hulk seconds before someone else did!

This pumped me up enough to swing by the same walmart, since my Dad said it looked like they had just stocked up. Sure enough I managed to also find the rest of Wave 5 Including the Correctly colored Black and Red Spidey, the Shiny Electro, and an oddly washed Guardian. I was still sort of tired, since I only had a few hours sleep, so I decided my success for the day was enough, and called off my extensive search of the city.

That had to be the coolest thing to start your day off with. :) So now, aside from some straggling variants from wave 5, I have all the figures from Waves 1 to 5 now. Still debating that Nick Fury of course. And I didn't even feel like trying to find the new SW packs or the Giant Battlers. I've been hearing some pretty harsh stories about SW wave 2 as well, :( so I think I'm gonna wait a little while before I snag those, unless I stumble upon them and they look okay.

This line is fine in small chunks, but I don't care for these insanely unplanned release dates. My favorite Wal-Mart is still jammed up with Wave 4 stock at $5.50 each, and my favorite Target still hasn't restocked their MU figs...or anything else for that matter. Strange. :D I can imagine these holiday seasons coming up are gonna be horrible for us if Hasbro releases any new MU figs around that time. :(

MU seems to be getting more expensive around here. TrU finally got three packs in and they are $30.00 bucks a piece. Ten dollars a figure is to steep especially for the SM and friends set because I already have a Spider-Man and Firestar and Iceman don't have accessories. I still might buy the troop builder pack because Hydra soldier looks awesome.

The 70th was supposed to be $30, but the other 2 should only be $24.99 each I think. If you decide to grab the soldiers pack, you should mention the online store price if it rings up $30. They should let you have it for the $24.99.

I can't find the packs on the TRU store site now.. They were there last week or so.

first of all, check out urs' and my review of the invaders 4-pack!

and second. something i noticed this weekend, when i was striking out on anything new/good from marvel, target has raised the price of the wolverine/xmen figs to $8.80! outrageous. i made it a point to slap every employee i saw in the mouth as i stormed out. i prefer my $7 prices, it's high enough.

Honestly, I can't figure out why MU figs are over $8 bucks at stores like Walmart. Hasbro has been able to keep the prices on their Star Wars figs under $8 bucks, as well as just about every other scaled figure series.

I totally forgot to mention that Toys'R'Us is having a sale on Marvel Universe, X-Origins, and Iron Man animated figures this week. 2 for $9.99 I believe. Saw it when I swung by yesterday. At least I think Origins and IM were included in the sale. Toys'R'Us always has great sales. :D

Thanks for the heads up about the sale. Also they made a stocking mistake and put the three packs where the Wolvie/Sabertooth Deluxe motorcylce thing goes thats priced at only $20, is Toys R Us one of those places they will give you it at that price if you raise a fuss. Although they may only have had tags out for the 70th annivesery packs which makes me feel better. $24 I can handle because I really want that Iceman.

Dan checking out invaders review now!

Well, an unplanned situation led to some unplanned purchases tonight.

I had to pick up my Bro's GF from work cause he was taking some kind of Don't beat your girlfriend class. So I stopped in wal-mart to get some bug poison, and as usual....ended up in the toy section instead of the home and garden area. :D

And what do you know! Fresh Marvel Universe and X-Men Origins Meat all on nice neat pegs!

First I rummaged through the single carded figs, and didn't find any variants I needed, but found another Gray Hulk! Which I reluctantly stuck under my arm. :) I'll leave this one MOC, cause he is my favorite figure in the line so far for some reason. Then low and behold! Secret Wars Wave 2 Strung all over the place like Christmas lights! Had to be a good 3 cases worth.

So I started sifting through them.....More of the Same with Wave 1! Sloppy paint apps all over the place! Some Poor assembly on most of the Cyclops and Spider-Womans. The biggest disappointment was Hulk. A small detail was chopped for price I guess. His mouth is green instead of black like the Proto. His teeth are painted, but it just doesn't look as good without that inner mouth paint....he sort of looks like a jacked up Moe from the Three Stooges. There were plenty of hits and misses with the Hulks, and since he was the one I wanted most, and all the Cyclops were sloppy, I opted to get the best looking Hulk. He is overall clean with even paint washes, but the others had black smudges on the body, and half @$$ed paint washes over their bodies. Cyclops is a runny sucker. Yellow on the boots, gloves, and visor are all pretty slack. And the Paint washes are hideous on most, and it looks like they got more in the joints than on the body.

The Spider-Womans were rough too. The hair on some didn't look properly placed, and one had adhesive seeping onto the scalp. Others had streaked up mouth paint and runny leg and forearm paints. The spidey symbols looked mostly okay, and the blue washes over the black weren't all bad. I tried to pick out the cleanest one. All the Iron Mans looked fine to me. He is a slightly different color than the Wave 3 Classic Iron Man. I actually like him more on first impressions.

The Magneto Black Spidey packs were probably the cleanest looking overall. Most of the Magnetos looked pretty spot on, with some minor purple around the helmet being hit and miss. I grabbed one with the best flesh and purple apps. All the Black Spideys were blah...and one of his eyes appears smaller for some reason. The main difference with the Black Spidey from his Wave 3 version is he has no body washes. He is pure black...which is pretty rad.

Now I havn't opened any up yet, so who knows what's gonna happen. I expect plenty of stuck joints, wrists, and feet. As my Wave 1 set had these problems.

Well, I thought I was finished here. I didn't even plan on digging through the XMO:W figs, cause the ones on top looked the same as last time, but while sifting the SWs packs I spotted a silver arm out of the corner of my eye, and sure enough! There he was in his metallic glory! Wave 4 Colossus! He just looks Badarse, and I can't wait to pop him out and lay the beat down on my Sabretooth. Been waiting forever for this guy! He appears to have some pretty sweet paint apps, though I don't see any wrist articulation..:(

So that was an expensive side trip for sure. They must have just restocked these guys tonight, as I think I checked the other day, and they didn't have anything new. So now I have even more crap to find a place for in my room.

Hey URS,
If you're looking for a great looking Cyclops fig, have you seen the one for XMO:W? I think that rendition is superior to the SW fig. The XMO:W Cyclops even has an attachable vision beam!! I don't think the SW version has that and it is a generally sloppy fig as you pointed out. Can't wait to lay claim on a Colossus fig!!!

Oh yeah, that SW Hulk. Awful!!!! I was so disappointed. I saw it in an Ebay listing pic and it looked good at thumbnail size. When I saw it in living color though, my heart sank. You hit it URS. Toxic Avenger crossed with Moe. YIKESS was he bad. Overall sculpt was all together different from Green and Red Hulks from MU I believe and I thought this version was lesser quality. I put it down and walked away. I am still not regretting that yet.

 I know, I was thinking about that the whole time I was picking through them. :D I couldn't help it. It's like a disease or something. I could not let myself walk out of there without buying the darn things. :) Maybe I can get some shots of Colossus up today. I've been thinking about going a different route with my reviews. I enjoy taking the pictures, but it can be a real chore to sit down and write out the reviews the way I've been doing it. Not sure what to do.

And she took off as soon as we walked into Wal-Mart. About 20 minutes later I tried calling her to see where she had gone to. She said she was waiting out by the care. She stood by the car for about 15 minutes cause I had the key. :D I asked here why she just didn't sit on a bench inside and wait. The duh face came on after that.

Yeah I picked up the XMO cyclops back in like May or something....don't remember when he came out. Got him and Iceman. Been staying pretty much on top of the comic series for that line. The eye beam is my favorite part of that figure. I had kind of hoped that the MU version would get one. As for the SW Hulk, I'm hoping that we will get another Single Carded Hulk figure with the new head sculpt. That way they can put more attention to detail into the paint apps.

If things work out today, maybe I'll open everyone up and snap some pics, and just post them.

HAHA!!! That's just crazy Eric!!! I can't begin to imagine how you can dislocate an eyebrow that badly on accident. :D Looks like one factory worker really resents their job. I think that actually tops all the other bad paint apps I've seen with this line as far curiosity level.

So upon my arrival in the barren northlands this weekend, my mom took me to wal-mart to get some socks and other things i needed replaced.

I browsed the toy aisle just because it was a store i'd never been in before, and they had a case of SW wave 2 out. Which she insisted on loaning me the money to get, because as she said "You might not see them all at once again".

I thought that was really cool. I'm about to sell a ton of stuff, but MU is one thing i'd like to stay active on, so it made me really happy not to have to wait forever to get these.

All of mine have good paint, i'm happy to report. And other than Iron Man nothing is redundant for me. Didn't have the previous Cyclops, Black suit Spidey, or green Hulk. So that's nice.

Toys r us sent me a buy $75.00 get 10 off coupon, I waited as long as I could in hopes of picking up the new Secret Wars packs but to no avail. The coupon expired this weekend so I went last night. I did get both the S-M and Friends 3 pack and Soldiers and Henchman 3 pack. To bad I only really love one figure in each pack (Iceman and Agent of Hydra) and I already had two of the other sculpts.

I rounded out my trip Freddy and Jason from Mezcos 3 3/4 inch Cinema of Fear line and some Christmas gifts. Sadly my Freddy had one of his claws fall off right out of the package :D if the Jason's cool I might still pick up the Leatherface.

that hydra soldier is really cool. still one of my faves of the whole line. i'm shocked that you like the iceman figure though. the ones i've seen and spit on in the store have all been beyond terrible.

nothing is more disappointing than hidden damage on a toy. i think we've all been there though. brand new toy, open the package only to find that a piece was being held in place by the package and it's pre-broken.

on the subject of figure oddities. my punisher #20 has a strange condition. his right leg is about an eighth of an inch longer than his left. anyone else have this problem? also, i noticed that my secret wars wolverine has two right calves. i'll be picking up a new secret wars pack to replace this one. i can give my doubles to my nephew. he likes punishing wolverine quite a bit.
