"Is this what you were looking for?" and proceeds to pull what out of the bag? Nothing...BUT A MUTHAFAJUNKIN GREY HULK!!!

This pumped me up enough to swing by the same walmart, since my Dad said it looked like they had just stocked up. Sure enough I managed to also find the rest of Wave 5 Including the Correctly colored Black and Red Spidey, the Shiny Electro, and an oddly washed Guardian. I was still sort of tired, since I only had a few hours sleep, so I decided my success for the day was enough, and called off my extensive search of the city.
That had to be the coolest thing to start your day off with.

This line is fine in small chunks, but I don't care for these insanely unplanned release dates. My favorite Wal-Mart is still jammed up with Wave 4 stock at $5.50 each, and my favorite Target still hasn't restocked their MU figs...or anything else for that matter. Strange.

and second. something i noticed this weekend, when i was striking out on anything new/good from marvel, target has raised the price of the wolverine/xmen figs to $8.80! outrageous. i made it a point to slap every employee i saw in the mouth as i stormed out. i prefer my $7 prices, it's high enough.

I totally forgot to mention that Toys'R'Us is having a sale on Marvel Universe, X-Origins, and Iron Man animated figures this week. 2 for $9.99 I believe. Saw it when I swung by yesterday. At least I think Origins and IM were included in the sale. Toys'R'Us always has great sales.

I had to pick up my Bro's GF from work cause he was taking some kind of Don't beat your girlfriend class.

And what do you know! Fresh Marvel Universe and X-Men Origins Meat all on nice neat pegs!
First I rummaged through the single carded figs, and didn't find any variants I needed, but found another Gray Hulk! Which I reluctantly stuck under my arm.

So I started sifting through them.....More of the Same with Wave 1! Sloppy paint apps all over the place! Some Poor assembly on most of the Cyclops and Spider-Womans. The biggest disappointment was Hulk.

The Spider-Womans were rough too. The hair on some didn't look properly placed, and one had adhesive seeping onto the scalp. Others had streaked up mouth paint and runny leg and forearm paints. The spidey symbols looked mostly okay, and the blue washes over the black weren't all bad. I tried to pick out the cleanest one. All the Iron Mans looked fine to me. He is a slightly different color than the Wave 3 Classic Iron Man. I actually like him more on first impressions.
The Magneto Black Spidey packs were probably the cleanest looking overall. Most of the Magnetos looked pretty spot on, with some minor purple around the helmet being hit and miss. I grabbed one with the best flesh and purple apps. All the Black Spideys were blah...and one of his eyes appears smaller for some reason. The main difference with the Black Spidey from his Wave 3 version is he has no body washes. He is pure black...which is pretty rad.
Now I havn't opened any up yet, so who knows what's gonna happen. I expect plenty of stuck joints, wrists, and feet. As my Wave 1 set had these problems.
Well, I thought I was finished here. I didn't even plan on digging through the XMO:W figs, cause the ones on top looked the same as last time, but while sifting the SWs packs I spotted a silver arm out of the corner of my eye, and sure enough! There he was in his metallic glory! Wave 4 Colossus! He just looks Badarse, and I can't wait to pop him out and lay the beat down on my Sabretooth. Been waiting forever for this guy! He appears to have some pretty sweet paint apps, though I don't see any wrist articulation..

So that was an expensive side trip for sure. They must have just restocked these guys tonight, as I think I checked the other day, and they didn't have anything new. So now I have even more crap to find a place for in my room.

If you're looking for a great looking Cyclops fig, have you seen the one for XMO:W? I think that rendition is superior to the SW fig. The XMO:W Cyclops even has an attachable vision beam!! I don't think the SW version has that and it is a generally sloppy fig as you pointed out. Can't wait to lay claim on a Colossus fig!!!

sounds to me like your brother's girlfriend should have paid for half. after all, you were doing her a favor.
way to stick to your guns and hold out for later shipments of secret wars 2.i hope you'll be posting something on that colossus. as of today, still nothing new.

And she took off as soon as we walked into Wal-Mart. About 20 minutes later I tried calling her to see where she had gone to. She said she was waiting out by the care.

Hey URS,
If you're looking for a great looking Cyclops fig, have you seen the one for XMO:W? I think that rendition is superior to the SW fig. The XMO:W Cyclops even has an attachable vision beam!! I don't think the SW version has that and it is a generally sloppy fig as you pointed out. Can't wait to lay claim on a Colossus fig!!!
Yeah I picked up the XMO cyclops back in like May or something....don't remember when he came out. Got him and Iceman. Been staying pretty much on top of the comic series for that line. The eye beam is my favorite part of that figure. I had kind of hoped that the MU version would get one. As for the SW Hulk, I'm hoping that we will get another Single Carded Hulk figure with the new head sculpt. That way they can put more attention to detail into the paint apps.
If things work out today, maybe I'll open everyone up and snap some pics, and just post them.

I browsed the toy aisle just because it was a store i'd never been in before, and they had a case of SW wave 2 out. Which she insisted on loaning me the money to get, because as she said "You might not see them all at once again".
I thought that was really cool. I'm about to sell a ton of stuff, but MU is one thing i'd like to stay active on, so it made me really happy not to have to wait forever to get these.
All of mine have good paint, i'm happy to report. And other than Iron Man nothing is redundant for me. Didn't have the previous Cyclops, Black suit Spidey, or green Hulk. So that's nice.

I rounded out my trip Freddy and Jason from Mezcos 3 3/4 inch Cinema of Fear line and some Christmas gifts. Sadly my Freddy had one of his claws fall off right out of the package

nothing is more disappointing than hidden damage on a toy. i think we've all been there though. brand new toy, open the package only to find that a piece was being held in place by the package and it's pre-broken.
on the subject of figure oddities. my punisher #20 has a strange condition. his right leg is about an eighth of an inch longer than his left. anyone else have this problem? also, i noticed that my secret wars wolverine has two right calves. i'll be picking up a new secret wars pack to replace this one. i can give my doubles to my nephew. he likes punishing wolverine quite a bit.
