Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Well Blackbeard D. Kuma, now that I think about it, I used the wrong word there. When I wrote site, I meant thread. I'm not saying you're not allowed to post your thoughts, but in my opinion, real fans wouldn't keep a thread going on for 5 years with most of the posts being criticism on how much this arc sucks.

It's no problem. I'll admit that I was a little harsh with you for that statement, and so I'll apologize if I came off as being rude or mean to you. I hope there's no hard feelings.

As for the current arc, to me at least, it just doesn't feel like Kinnikuman anymore. It's quite pretentious. Maybe part of that has to do with the fact that Yudetamago's target audience is no longer Shonen Jump but Playboy Comics (someone correct me on the latter if I'm wrong here). With that being said, they're trying to make things more serious/mature, and that doesn't seem to be working very well. For example, I really found all of that Mari soap opera crap (excuse my language) to be really out of place and unnecessary. Added to that, a lot of the legends don't seem to be acting like their usual selves. Yudetamago should just stick to their old formula of giving us entertaining wrestling matches with a multitude of wacky enjoyable characters, which is what made their G1 manga a huge success back in the day.

I think the only thing I liked about this arc so far was the tag team of Neptuneman and Seiuchin (Wally Tusket). The reason for that is because Neptuneman really brought out the true potential (albeit in a bad way, but that's the bastard Neptuneman for you ) of Seiuchin by training him to be a fearsome, ruthless monster. Consequently, Seiuchin gained credibility of being a formidable adversary for anyone, provided that he's serious, confident, and aggressive. Turning a jobber into a threat was a nice move by Yudetamago.

Facechompping Walleh was before this arc turned into total WTF-ery, though. Back then, the arc was kinda cool, and we were wondering who the teddy bears were, though one was probably WArsman.

And at this point, noone even cares if someone's from the future or not.

Well, maybe I went a little overboard myself. I only made my account a few months ago, so I read every every post to catch up. When I saw those 5 years of posts, it came at me so strangely hard that people could have something against this arc for a continual 5 years! But maybe if I was here for those years, I would've been like you guys, so I'm 76.87% sorry for questioning your fanocity.

LOL. No need to be so precise/technical with numbers here, my friend .

One other reason why I don't like this arc very much is because it has gone on for too long. It almost seems like there's no progress going on here. As a result, it has gotten stale and Yudetamago needs to end this already and give us something new and refreshing.

They've probably forgotten how they were going to end it, and thus why it is dragging on for as long as possible until they figure it out.

From Vol 17 to vol 23, I think it has last for a year.

I've read somewhere that it takes 2 or 3 months for each new volume.

A year. Team Kinniku did it in about five months from start to finish, maybe six.

It is widely adknowledged as the most failure in a Kinniku-Arc for being long, drawn out, and fairly boring.

This arc has gone on for FIVE YEARS, stuck on my eyes! FIVE YEARS! (what a surprise!) We've gotten FIVE YEARS of "my brain hurts a lot!"

What have we got?
Five years.
That's all we've got.*

But you gotta admit, it is extremely impressive that they've been able to keep 1 arc going on for as long as most mangas tend to last; Yudetamago deserves props for that.

I'll give them props when they actually end it and move onto something else. ANYTHING else, in fact. I mean...it can't be any worse than this right?

I think the problem may be we like Kinnikuman, but we're finding too many flaws with Nisei. We love Suguru, Kinnikuman the First, but Mantarou, Kinnikuman the Second, is not doing it for us.

And if I may join in the props taunts and gags, if we give Yudetamago, they'd better be crutches to prop the manga up and help it limp back home.

Former resident song translator, and as a result, probably the distant, insignificant relative of the translation family on this board.

Update (7/1/2012 [7th Jan]) - Years away can calm a mind down quite well. I don't think of myself as some maligned martyr of the site. Rather it's just that I was unfortunately caught by the mudslinging of a rather unpleasant (and unprofessional) translator, who didn't like people taking the spotlight away from him, particularly if they happened to actually be able to properly translate work, as opposed to him. Nevertheless, despite the fact that all my work was my own, I got constantly accused of plagiarism, thanks to this unpleasant individual constantly saying how I stole his work. (When rather, it was going to end up being the other way round.)

I'm a lot more forgiving about the whole ideal, with how I ended up getting treated on this forum, as a result of this incident, but at the same time, I am still not in any mind to come back and join in again, nor will I uplaod any more of my translation work on here. This includes any of my old work, or my newer and much more accurate work. Some may see this as being petty, spiteful or based off an old grudge, and you may be right. However, I thought I'd explain things a little.

Well, Nesei is being released by Viz.

The Tag Arc has not been released in english, and most people don't expect Viz to license it after they complete the last four or so volumes for the initial run of Nisei.

Everyone here likes kinnikuman (or that and more, or at least the toys its based upon), but 'MST3K-ing' something is a new American tradition. I'd LOVE to read the english version of this, and I'm fairly certain that someone will want to scanslate it (if Viz doesn't pick it up, which I'm fairly certain they won't).

I keep joking about it with Knuxie, but I sometimes think (and 2chan does as well if google translator is right) that they'll drag this on for 29 volumes just to do a 29-Niku thing. I:

Anyway, two pictures for now:

Logical Explanation goes PUNT out the window.

I keep joking about it with Knuxie, but I sometimes think (and 2chan does as well if google translator is right) that they'll drag this on for 29 volumes just to do a 29-Niku thing. I:

The Nisei anime took 77 episodes to tell the story up to the end of the Chojin Crown.

Nisei manga took 21 volumes, with fifteen page chapters.

If this current arc ever got an anime adaption, I can see it having over at least 50 episodes.
