What? Canadian flea market?  You mean there was more for sale than broken sleds, used hockey gear, and Tim Hortons premiums?   JK

I was going to say careful with UB Funkeys -- it's one of those slippery slopes of collecting -- but then I remembered that you are not much of a completist anyway.

Great haul.  What is the critter on the right?

Ha! Found it by accident while looking at other items that a seller has based on an item in today's other thread!

Great haul.

Plenty of Hockey shit to go around for MILES. Especially those old McDonald's, (I think), Muppet plushies in the different NHL uniforms. People think those things are worth a fortune.

The UB Funkeys are something I've wanted to get for my daughter since they came out, but never had the chance. Are the other figures cheap? I didn't get anything but the booklet and the USB hub, how do we get/play the game? (Assuming you're a Funkey expert.)

Thanks man! I think my favourite find is the old ass McDonald's Transformers. Got the pair for a buck total! (Which in USD these days is like $0.10)

Like most things, the common ones are cheap.  Just buy bulk lots used. The rare/ultra rare ones (chase figure, less produced) are not.  Each character has 3 variants -- common, rare, ultra rare.  I don't know if the rarity distinction affects gameplay, but I would assume that it does in some way.  I was into a few of the more creative designs, but finding the 3rd variant was always such a PITA, I think I pretty much gave up.  I don't know anything about the game.  It was installed on CD-Rom, so I assume it will still work on most computers.

Here is a checklist of the original 2008 lineup.  There are at least twice this amount in total.

I guess I'll have to hunt down some figgies AND the CD rom. So much for a cheap score!  :p

I guess I'll have to hunt down some figgies AND the CD rom. So much for a cheap score!

I just checked ebay.  They are pretty cheap all around.  "UB Funkeys lot" returned 130 listings.  Plenty of people have the CD-Rom included with lots of figures.  To get started with basic gameplay and a few figures will be very cheap.  I guess all I was trying to say is that the ones they call "very rare" are actually just that, so IF someone is a completist, it can get annoying and/or expensive because the figures just aren't out there.  But like any other toyline we collect here, people sell their whole collections in bulk and the rare ones are just thrown in.  I just never had the interest to the degree that I would dedicate such time and patience, even for relatively little money.

I thought it was cool how they had the "figure is the cartridge" idea several years before Skylanders.  (If there is an example before UBF, I don't know what it is.)

I have never played the game -- I don't even know the objective.  I think you just go around collecting things.  It is probably like Moshi Monsters.   I would be interested in hearing if it maintains your daughter's interest.  Probably about as interesting as Minecraft.  ;)

She played the Webkins games online a few years back, but she was smaller then and not as good with computers so it was hard for her to do.

From the manual that came included with the hub, it looks like you play minigames and you earn money to buy stuff for your "crib." Different characters unlock different zones, typical crap to get parents to buy it all for the kiddos. I'll let you know how it is if I ever get the game and some figures!

I got one of the new SW Box Busters by Spin Master today.  I think they are pretty cool, but that's just because I like cubes.  I guess when I lost my marbles as a kid, all I had left were Squarbles! (For real, these were like my favorite toy.)  Anyway, I got Endor which seems to be only in a single pack, while most are found in either a single or double.  I'm reminded of the simplistic genius of SW marketing.  They make not just major, and minor, and horde characters -- but all vehicles -- and all locations.  This is the desert planet... this is the ice planet... this is the fire planet... this is the jungle planet...  on and on and on....

The game looks convoluted as all hell with a "battle mat," a die, two coins, and the cube itself.

Plus you need an opponent who also brings all that stuff to the table.

Eff that, these are the smallest Ewoks ever!

The folded up cube is 1.5 inches, so these Ewoks are like 3/8 inch tall.

Haven't shared my finds on here for a while. One of the best packages I've received in a while.

First picture is of some bootleg keshi. First box are just random anime and game characters. Second one is mostly Transformer Decoy bootlegs.

Second picture is of my favorite score. GI Joe style packaging DBZ bootlegs. So annoyed that someone repacked Goku in the Piccolo blister. Would love to have original packaging for both. But realistically, I will never find anything like these again here.

Third picture are of some bootleg Power Rangers mini model kits.

Fourth picture is a mystery to me. The first toy I THINK is from Dragon Quest / Dragon Warrior. But I think it might be from the anime series and not the game. The second one comes in Dragon Ball packaging, but I don't recognize the characters. I never really watched the original Dragon Ball though. Only watched DBZ.

Anyways, I hope yall enjoy the pics.

The style makes me think of a Jushin Liger design. Wouldn't know who specifically. It's not him but King Doraga's presence in that series would explain why there's any kind of connection to Dragonball for this bootleg to mix in.

It was solved on Instagram. https://instagram.com/p/7d6RkDlkNX/

Seems it is Dragon Man, a korean manga. Art style seems similar to Mega Dragon and Tiger. I had an artbook of awesome stuff in this style at one point.

*Edit*

SolarLord Art Graphix artbook is what I had! Read that and Mega Dragon and Tiger. Shooooo I might have to track that book down again.

One of the cooler things I've ever found. I've asked people at flea markets and little toy shops about whether or not Kinnikuman was big in Korea back in the day. It always took me a few minutes to explain what the heck I was talking about and when I would eventually just show them a picture, they would be like "OH, NOT POPULAR". But this is the second time I've found Korean made Kinkeshi bootlegs. This time, they are being passed off as Star Trek toys. When I saw them for sale I had to snag all of em. One of them was opened already and being held together with tape, so I took pictures of those. Will end up keeping a set for myself and selling the others. COOL HUH?

That's some legit Star Trek right there, man.

ANYWAY..... this was a pretty big mail/toy day, and the largest one for quite a while.

First up, I got ahold of one of Spy Monkey's Kinniku-Golems - these guys are kinda hard to find nowadays, because Spy Monkey can't sell them anymore.  The Kinniku-people hought it was too close to be a fair use parody.

Kinniku-Golem.png

Next up, I got a single Yowie egg with my lunch (awful, awful chocolate), and ended up with Crag, the one dude I had wanted.

Crag.png

But the real fun is, a new D&D minaitures set came out, and I hadn't realized it!  There's a TON that I want from this one, but I will have to space them out over a while to remain safely in-budget.

A Spectator, which is a type of Beholder:

Spectator.png

A Roper, which disguises itself as a stalagmite until the horrible moment when it grabs you with its tentacles and reveals itself.

Roper.png

A Vrock, a type of vulture-like demon that spreads poisonous spores everywhere (with a removable stand, hence the hole in its torso)

Vrock_1.png

A Nightmare, which is the best little pony ever.

Nightmare.png

A Chasme, a mosquito-like demon that enjoys tormenting intruders in the Abyss.

Chasme.png

An Ettercap, which is something like a literal spider monkey.

Ettercap.png

And a Troll, which will heal from anything unless you burn it.

Troll_1.png

And THEEEEEN... we got this month's He-Man shipment, which is just awesome.

There's King Chooblah from the 2002 cartoon.

Chooblah.png

And Saurod, from the movie.  Saurod looked awesome, but really didn't get to do much before Skeletor fried him for failure.

Saurod.png

And here's one for the ladies:
