Love that checklist idea, Hari!  What a great system.

Do you bag them up and store them based on each sheet, or do you have room in your place where you can basically keep them on the table as you collect? How are you going to display them once you have the whole set?  Also, what do you think will be your next collecting goal?

You hit the nail on the head- I have them bagged ~25 to a bag corresponding to each sheet.

As far as displaying them- I found black flocked 20-slot zippo lighter trays on amazon, 12 for ~$20. I plan on mounting them on black foam core, sewing a string of elastic thread through the center of each row and hanging them on the wall.

Collecting goal? Well I collect a lot of different '80s toy lines that will keep me busy for awhile!!

Treated myself to this great pair, they arrived on Saturday after a very long trip.  Seabozu's bones were beige before his soaking/scrubbing...just look at him now!  Notice Toto's skin textures...the attention to detail...and those eyes:

IMG_0743_zpsrejvri1a.jpg

Found this Yoda bubble bath topper yesterday, and coincidentally it uses the EXACT same neck plug as Ooze-It!  I could make a 'functioning' model, but I haven't got the heart to gouge out Yoda's eyes.

"Spew pus out of every orifice, I will!"

IMG_0740_zpsjdek8cxj.jpg

A shot of their matching ports, essentially a threaded bottle stem, allowing for endless customizing possibilities.

See that cosmic red slime residue?  He earned that battle scar over the course of several years.  My six-year-old self showed this stalwart bastard NO mercy!

Love the kaiju! Seabozu looks awesome & Toto's detail would make a great addition to any Gamera collection!

As for Yoda, I'd be too tempted to resist carefully cutting ooze-slits with an exacto. That topper's just begging to be defiled!!

Heat up a punch or just a Phillip's head screwdriver on your stove.  it is going to be quicker and a lot less dangerous than trying to muck around with an x-acto. If there is a bit of bunched up melted plastic you can trim it up with the x-axcto, but at least get the initial puncture done with a heated implement.  Also a soldering iron tip or a wood-burning tool would work.  Even having those things, I tend to prefer to just heat up tools on the stove.

So you knew my ex-wife in high school??

I agree, Rotters.  I've got insulated rods I use just for things like this.  If I'm careful, I could probably cleanly punch out the black pupils.

(Sorry, Yoda...so morbid...)

So I have had some awesome December of pick-ups! I meant to post this sooner. These all came from IG trades, local flea store, Craiglist's pick-ups, and Mattycollector.com and have made my month very happy!

Finally made some way on my Ghostbuster's ghosts!

Attached File  20151215_230749.jpg   59.21K   16 downloads

Found this little gem on craigslist (started out as some street fighter joes and then saw him!)

Attached File  20151206_124229.jpg   76.16K   25 downloads

Nothing like Giant Hemans....I can't stop staring at theses guys (My only cybermonday/black Friday pick-up, and it was on the Tuesday after)

Attached File  20151209_233847.jpg   156.25K   16 downloads

He holds my LRG guys in his belly now. Inhumanoids are the ugliest and creepiest 80s cartoon (watch it you will love it), but the three giants villains are awesome.

Attached File  20151213_142427.png   1.64MB   14 downloads

My wife got these 4 guys for cheap when I went out of town. After pliable rubber toys, vinyl is the next best thing.

My $2 pick up, it was a perfect Savers/Thrift experience

Dude, you got Scratch AND D-Compose?  Incredible!!!

A local Barnes & Noble is closing down, and their non-book merchandise was marked down TREMENDOUSLY.  Killer Croc cost me $4.

Here's a Minecraft Endermite.  They have convinced me to buy what is essentially purple plastic poop.  And like it.

EXTERMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dalek.png

And finally, a few D&D minis. Their paint is... odd.  Take this Quaggoth as an example - theya re furry, catlike cave monsters, but this looks like he's made of sgtone and vines (which is kinda cool)
Quaggoth.png

A Dretch, which is the lowest and most worthless demon.  Looks kinda like a droopy cow.

The cockatrice, which is rather naked for a bird.

The last He-Man figures of the year came in - FOUR of them!

There's Dare, Son of He-Man, who came from not one but TWO failed series pitches.  One became the foundation of the New Adventures cartoon, and the other has existed in the form of leaked concept art for years.

Dare.png

Dare-NA.png

Prahvus, an insanely badass monster from the 200X cartoon.

Prahvus.png

Prahvus-Face.png

Prahvus-RedAlert.png

And finally, Laser Power He-Man vs. Laser Light Skeletor.  The original, electronic figures only got a limited release in Europe (and were basically prototypes for the NEw Adventures cartoon).  As for these... well, the Classics toyline avoids incorporating action features, so there's no way they would make them battery-powered, right?

They have them in abundance at the Target near me. I passed on them, and the 8-Bit Links, but definitely picked up the yellow and purple Pikmin figures. I haven't seen the red or blue in the wild yet.

The distribution on these figures is utter shit in Canada, and what few do hit shelves here are snatched up by the scalpers the minute they hit the pegs, (assuming the employees even put them out).

The only Pikmin figure I've seen here is the red one, but at $6.99 I felt it was a bit steep for such a tiny sliver of plastic. What are the prices of these figures down south?

That's a significantly more reasonable price point. Even after this crazy inflation rate, they should only be around $5 here, yet they're an additional $2 after that. (Equivalent to you guys paying $5 for the damn things.)

As cool as the figures are, most of them just don't seem worth the price.
