Also, a quick question for anyone who can answer: Are the vinyl figures going to be painted, or do they come plain as pictured? I figured they were pics of the prototypes, but I just wanted to make sure. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm not familiar with Japanese toys since Beast Saga is the first thing I've bought from overseas since I collected Gundam models several years ago.

Not sure which figures your pointing at here but if its about the Complete white ones (Sofubi collection) you can be sure they are plain figs that are not painted. If its about the general figures than the skin and armors are plain and the little details are painted like hair color, nose, eyes etc.

Here another picture of the Nov. release figs from Japan via Twitter, a pile of Beast Saga figs.

Correct, and as expected it worked out great for these fellows but since its a quite heavy and complicated thing I didn't had the time yet to instal it to take the pics.

Yeah I was referring to the Sofubi collection, I have plenty of examples of the general figures! ;) . Kind of disappointing that they wouldn't paint them but oh well, thanks for the info.
You're right, the turtle has really grown on me. I thought the hat was a bit goofy at first, but I'm loving that guy now!

We still don't know if the Sofubi collection will be painted figures or not. As every other BS items from early Takara catalogs the figures we saw are prototypes. Maybe we will have production pics in the next catalog.

THIS is about all we have so far and it looks like only the 3 leaders of the Land, Sea and Sky tribes are released as Sofubi figures. Not a lot more is know so far so based on this and expecting they are released as white 'gumball' (?) looking figs its clear they are not painted white but will be produced as such IMHO.

What is Sofubi?

It refers specifically to the material the toys are made of rather than the design. Sofubi or soft vinyl is a lighter and somewhat more pliable material than the vinyls used by most Chinese and western factories. I'm told it is generally more expensive but you can get better detail in it. Some folks unfamiliar with it think that the toys feel somewhat cheap when they pick them up because they are lighter than they thought it should be.

As a [former] vinyl art toy collector, I think I'm most excited about this release from the new stuff this month & next. I can't wait to see an actual pic.

What is Sofubi?

Most vinyl figures are painted, although some are released unpainted. I'd be surprised if these come out like that. As a former vinyl collector myself I'm excited about these more than the regular figures. Not a bad price that is listed, but i wonder what size they will be, Average Sofubi figures are around 8"-9".

I really wish the Owl was painted like is shown on his card. The grey and the no paint on the talons bugs me. Also, the light blue painted armor which seems to be a popular armor color.

I've noticed a lot of blue armor in the line too. Would have been cool if they had more bright, varied colors like the original Battle Beasts. Makes sense that they'd use realistic colors for the animals though.

As you can see, I accidentally ordered two Air Tribe starters : /

For those of you who already have received their DX arena could you confirm that the vibrating feature is not included ?

I will have mine soon (it is in the custom hands at the time I write this message) but I'm sure someone here already have one.
