The Wolverine he has listed has a different head sculpt. It looks way better than the crappy head everyone has been complaining about, he may have just opted out of grabbing the nappy headed one.

at first i had only thought about getting warpath. now i can see i was wrong. i need both warpaths, the vision (just the regular one) and firestar. if i run into a wolverine like his, i'll prolly end up buying it. as for jean grey, i'll have to give her a good look over. maybe i'll figure out some way to fix her missing neck.

A question for those of you that have figures from this line...

How "sturdy" are the hips? Specifically are the leg sockets prone to popping off of the ball tips? If you apply to much pressure will they pop off? Have you had the "t-bar" ball tips snap or break ?

Depends on the body type, but generally the legs are soft enough that you could pop them loose. The T-bars on these figures are made of a seemingly very pliable plastic, so they do have a good bit of give. Some body types legs pop off easier, while other are much more tighter, and need some trick play to get them to work. For instance The Black Spiderman body type has a habit of popping loose, where as the Daredevil body type tends to have very tight hips. The quality is hit and miss depending on the figure or again body type. I havn't had any break yet, but some do have stuck joint issues, where either over washed joints cause severe sticking, or poor tooling makes joints harder to utilize. I've even had one figures head get stuck due to too much adhesive (SW2 Hulk), and one who was so badly packaged that his shoulder was sort of stress damaged (SW1 Captain America) The biggest issues as you may have guessed have been with the two packs thus far. Paint apps can be hit or miss anywhere in the line. And again the most notable QC issues I've seen have again been with the Secret Wars, where figures were wrongly assembled. Sooo.. if you buy any figures, just be sure they look as well as possible in the package.

ON ANOTHER NOTE!!!! It's 5 a.m. here. My brother ran by Wally World while I was at work tonight, and left me a message on my phone that they had new MU figs in stock. Sooooo I was more than happy to take the detour on the way home to hit our nearest wal-mart store. Needless to say! They had Wave 6 in stock! :notme: So I picked up all 6. They were still stocking the action figures, and low and behold I saw 3 sealed cases of MU figs! Cool! So I asked the nice lady if I could check em out, she kindly obliged. Sadly there was no variants in any pack. :) Which means the cool previously posted variants are packed in a different case assortment. All 3 had the same assortment. 2 HOM Spideys, 2 Wolverines (goofy head), 1 vision, 1 electro, 1 Silver Centurion, 1 Warpath, 1 Jean, 1 Wolverine (black), 1 Iron Man classic, and 1 Sunfire. Sad I didn't find the variants, but joyful that I got first picks of the new wave at my store, I eagerly made my way to checkout and then home. I probably won't go hunting tomorrow now. Cause well, can't spend all my money on toys.... I guess. :pardon:

So hopefully tomorrow, I will have a mini review up for everyone who hasn't found these yet. So you guys can get a full idea of what to expect.

that's cool you've been able to find new figs. i've been meaning to go on a hunt, but with my recent expenditures i'm gonna lay low for a couple of weeks. i'm not worried about finding anything. if wave 3 has taught me anything, it's that i'll be able to find any and all figures i need. and then some. stupid hand ninjas.

as for the overall durability of the figures, i'd have to say that they're much stronger than they look. i know some of those skinnier sculpts appear to be weak, but they've held up against my 3-year-old nephews brutal punishments. i think, unless you were deliberately trying the break one, you wouldn't.

My reason for asking is ive stayed away from the Marvel Universe figures due to nightmare flashbacks of the Super Hero Showdown figures . SHS was a nice line but the average figure had parts popping off left and right. Ive grown to appreciate the X-Men Wolverine Origins type hip joints (which are basically Marvel Legends hip joints) that hasbro has been using on different lines but the XMWO line is no where near as vast as the MU line. Ill definitely buy 1 or 2 XMWO but i want to be sure about the MU figure line before i pick up any.

Pin Post / hinge hips make a big difference with regard to durability . Not that im ham fisted or brutal with my figs :D

If either of you want to trade an MU figure that you dont like ( i dont care which) LMK.

i don't really have any i don't like (everyone hates spidey, but the bastards keep packing him in those secret wars 2-packs). i've got some doubles still carded, but they're all of hulk or thing. and these body types are indestructible i believe. so they're not a good depiction of the average figures durability. what you may try doing is checking out your local sprawl-mart. they've had these figures on clearance for a cool fin a couple of times. you could maybe get a character you like for cheap and then put it through the ringer.

Thats the plan  I was going to type " I plan on giving those hips a real workout." but i thought that might be misconstrued :D :D

Range of motion concerns and upper leg / hip durability aside the figures look really nice.

Ohhhh yeah. Marvel Universe figs are proving to be a great formula of style and substance. That's why it is a successful line. It's funny. I see one full row at the department stores dedicated to GIJoe, Transformers, and Star Wars and they are half full sections, full pegs, and "Sale" signs sprouting out of them. But almost consistently where I am at, MU has 4 or 5 pegs that are nearly sold out and they haven't even budged the prices for them. Even after restocks, when I come back in a couple days they have a huge dent in the numbers from previously. Except for ShopKo, they were trying to sell them for $12.99 at one point but now they are on sale for $8.99!!! That's alright though, they had a Moon Knight the other day and I wasn't about to let him get away!

YAY!!! My heart just skipped a beat! I soooo hope I can find these 3 variants.

http://comicfigs.net...Page.php?S=MU06

Am I missin' somethin'? 3 variants? I see clear vision (phasing) and then the classic Warpath (blue and red), but, what is the 3rd?

If anyone needs a Bullseye, Kobe got lucky and my friend snagged him one, then he found one in a small town Kmart I believe. He would trade that Bullseye (crease on the card) for stuff he is missing.

He doesn't have:
Nick Fury (was supposed to get one from Battlechaser, but, I don't think that is going to transpire)
Skrull
Goliath (both versions or at least the kewlest one)
Clear vision
Warpath classic colors

Not sure he likes Jean Grey that much and w/ $ being tight, he isn't going to get all the variants like the new spiderman and wolverine.

He has been spending his customs $ on these and trading customs for these.

PM me if anyone has access to items from his list if they want to trade for the Bullseye or for some of his customs.

Thanks,
TGB

I can stop worring now. Found Electro and Vision today. So I should start seeing new figures all over in no time.

Sadly I spent almost $100.00 on crap. A couple MU, a Batman/Gentleman Ghost kids figures, and a boatload of t.v. on DVDs. I love It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia

Apparently there is a running change variant of Bullseye in new case assortments as well. Don't know if it's legit or just a factory error though. It's supposed to be dark blue with little paint wash or something. I still havn't found or heard anymore on the Alleged DareDevil or Electro variants. <_< So I'm not sure what's going on. Either my stores just aren't getting these case assortments, or these supposed variants are low quantity factory errors.

I think I currently need 7 figures/variants...8 if I have to add that Bullseye.

Goliath - Red/Blue
Electro - Matte Yellow
DareDevil - Dark Red
Ronin - Black
Warpath - Red
Vision - Clear
Wolverine wave 6 - New Head
Nick Fury

I don't mind variants myself, but it would be very nice if they were to chill on the unnecessary ones. Ronin, Electro, Bullseye, and DareDevil just don't seem important unless they are major palette swaps.

If the Hulk crotch is sanded on the sides would that allow fora greater range of motion in the legs (i.e. would he be able to kick forward farther/higher)?

Im willing to modify the figure but a Hulk that cant move its legs is of no use tome . Id rather pick up a Union Jack or Thunderball.

both union jack and thunderball are worthy figures, but i've found that the hulk leg limitations are figure specific. while, it's most common to get the stiff legged hulk, i do have a red hulk who's pretty limber for some reason. you can get him to do stuph with his legs you can't with the others. while it's not like green goblin's range of motion, it's a little better than say the thing.

Well, Arti. I'd probably wait a while. Like Spider-Man, Hulk is a big seller in this line. And we have already seen test shots of Juggernaut with some sick looking articulation for next year. I imagine we will be getting another Hulk offering with full range of motion.

My thoughts exactly (after finally seeing a pic of the upcoming Juggernaut which looks incredible).

Id still love to see the range of motion on the Red Hulk though for comparison.

Woo, my brother loaned me the money to get Vision today. We were at a Meijer store i'd never been in and they had the whole new wave (no variants though). Most of them were pretty tempting but Vision was my favorite. They were not yet even in the system there, the cashier had to go get an older figure to scan.

Also man, after seeing it in person i really hope they're planning some running changes for that Jean Grey...

I just realized that we have probably not really discussed the options or results from the 70th Ann poll for the Marvel Universe line. I've looked at the list before, but never understood when or where the poll was held.. I guess it just flew under the radar. :( I'd have liked to have voted if it were an online poll, but I have a feeling it may have been held at one of the conventions earlier this year.

Anywho, here is the segment pulled from TheRumorBuster.com checklist page.

70th Anniversary Poll
In honor of Marvel Comics 70th Anniversary, a poll was held featuring 70 characters of which originally 5 were to be made. Later, Hasbro announced the five winning characters and stated that the next two runners up would also be made in 2010. The top five choices were (in order) Archangel, Winter Soldier, Havok, Mystique, and Mary Jane Watson

  • Archangel
  • Aurora
  • Baron Von Strucker
  • Batroc
  • Beast
  • Beyonder
  • Binary
  • Blizzard
  • Brother Voodoo
  • Cannonball
  • Captain Britain
  • Captain Marvel
  • Cloak
  • Constrictor
  • Cosmic Spider-Man
  • Crystal
  • Dagger
  • Dazzler
  • Domino
  • Dormammu
  • Drax the Destroyer
  • Fantomex
  • Firelord
  • Gladiator
  • Grim Reaper
  • Gwen Stacy
  • Havok
  • Hela
  • Hellcat
  • Hellfire Soldiers
  • Hyperion
  • Iron Man 2020
  • Jocasta
  • Karnak
  • Lady Bullseye
  • Lilandra
  • Luke Cage
  • Madame Hydra
  • Magik
  • Mary Jane
  • Medusa
  • Mercury
  • Moonstone
  • Multiple Man
  • Mystique
  • Nighthawk
  • Northstar
  • Paper Bag Spidey
  • Phantom Rider
  • Polaris
  • Psylocke
  • Quasar
  • Red Guardian
  • Shaman
  • Silver Sable
  • Snowbird
  • Speed Demon
  • Spot
  • Starlord
  • Stepford Cuckoos
  • Storm
  • The Hood
  • Thunderbird
  • Tiger Shark
  • Vance Astro
  • Vindicator
  • White Tiger
  • Winter Soldier
  • Wonder Man
  • X-23

As you can see, there were tons of great characters! So I am sort of wondering why these characters were chosen for the poll.
Do you guys think they intend to make most of these guys, but plan on releasing them one by one in each new wave? I just see so many promising names in the list, and many I'm sure will get made.
What do you guys think of the top picks?
Who do you think the 6th and 7th figures will be?
Who would you have voted for, or if you did get to vote who did you vote for?
And Which characters would you buy regardless of who your top 5 picks would have been? :D

And to add some visuals to the conversation. Here are 7 groups of 10 characters. From left to right top to bottom #1-70. :p I have nothing better to do today. :D Of course I'm not sure if they are all correct, as there are multiple variations, and alternate characters who share the same names etc. Like Vindicator who has been both a guy and a chick. And Storm had like a ton of outfits, same with most other females. I just picked either the versions I thought they were referring to, or the ones I'd like to see. Others were hit and miss, as I couldn't really find pics of some characters. I know I recall seeing a shot of the banner featuring small profile shots for the poll itself online, but I can't find it, and the one shot I recall seeing didn't show them very well. If anyone can correct anything, then feel free. Alot of new characters I'm not too familiar with, specifically the past 10 years worth. Which makes me think Marvel may have chose a character from each year of Marvel for the poll? Maybe...

Yeah, I voted in the poll when it was actually out, but with you bringing it up so much, much later than when it happened, I have no clue who I picked! I'm sure I picked at least Mary Jane out of spite for what Marvel's done in recent years. In fact, I think it's time to switch my signature now to illustrate that point...

Also, we never really ever get civilian figures, and of the ones they could make, she seemed like an ideal choice.

Was it an online poll? I honestly can live without Mary Jane, and most basic civilian characters. So Gwen and Mary would not have even registered on my radar. Cause simply, unless Hasbro starts making the females alot more appealing with this line, how much more cruddy looking will the civilian females look?

Yes, part of Hasbro's Marvel Universe website.

At the time of this poll, the only females for comparison were both Ms. Marvels, so... cruddy females weren't an issue so much as a lack of them. Which, combined with my enjoyment of the Thunderbolts, meant I probably picked Moonstone too.
