Odd cheapo robots with Xevoz elements?

IMG_0894.JPG

Remember those generic sets from a few years ago that were packaged with Halo-like neon aliens, tanks, mounted guns, etc.? I think these robots use those molds.

Dollar General has had single packs of these for quite a while. My son has a bucket full of them, they're pretty fun.

If he's been playing with them and they've held up, that's a big plus - typically this type of figure bites the dust pretty easily.   :(

It's neat how they (intentionally?) packaged them accordingly....three in more dreary/typical mech colors and three using more 'outrageous' colors.  They are interesting throwbacks and all, but I can't see myself caring too much in the long run.  I got these for around 80 cents per robot so if anyone wants them let me know and I'll go and buy them out.  ($2.50 per 3-pack on clearance.)

The ones we got were actually packaged under a different name, and look as though they might be a little more durable plastic.

Heck yes!! Thank you Redspook!! I've wanted the scorpion for awhile now, but I didn't know what it was. Now I know they are Dragon Strike minis and they are awesome!

Oh yeah, and I got this awesome GiJoe  Bazooka mini to go along with my Snake Eyes I already had.

She sure is.  I'm digging the Black series, we have most of 'em, but I'm not 100% cool with them.  When they announced SW figures in the 6-8" scale, I nearly flew outta my chair, hoping that they'd (finally!) be doing the classic characters in more of a Mego-style.

If only Abrams didn't turn DOWN Lucas' offer, prompting him to go to Kenner, sigh...   What Mego could have done with those earlier film characters, using their standardized bodies plus some additional sculpted stuff.   The massive SW license would have forced Mego to constantly tool new parts and improve the processes as they'd been successfully doing for 10+ years prior.   :(

This is the first time I've actually seen what a bugbear is supposed to be. Considering what I know owlbears to be, color me incredibly disappointed at the result.

Yeah, for most series bugbears are pretty much just hairy orcs.  You may liek the Neclos version though!

That is the one I was inspired by for @keegankayamcgee's D&D draws for the month of February right now.

Haha, that is gold. He looks like he's ripped the bulbous end off in a rage.

Did they really give that to children?
