For me, my DX arena has the vibrating feature. There is a switch on the side to turn on on the side. Once I flip the switch, it starts some crazy dance club battle music, and the center portion vibrates intermittently, shaking any of the dice there.

Glad to hear the demo either had a broken vibration function or was turned off.

Amazon.jp has posted a pre-order date of 2013.01.12 for the three 'sofubi' figures.

Unfortunately though still no photos available of what to expect ;)

Does that mean I can save a few dollars next month since that was when they were originally supposed to come out?
Also, are you planning on keeping the figures you showed a few posts back in the package? These guys are a lot of fun to play around with, at least open the extra Air Tribe starter pack! They do look nice in the packaging, though. I don't let mine stay there long enough to appreciate it!
And lastly, welcome to LRG!

How did you get your BS-14 to shake? Not speaking Japanese I freely admit I can't understand the instructions. Is there some trick to it? I just spent another 5 minutes with it and I got nothing.

I would have to double check when I get home tonight, but I believe that if you turn the switch to on, it starts playing immediately, and goes through one cycle. After that, it would do another cycle anytime I would touch the middle of the Colosseum.

Looks like it; Amazon seems pretty accurate with their release dates. My bro had my BS rhino in hand two days after their posted date. :)

Also, are you planning on keeping the figures you showed a few posts back in the package? These guys are a lot of fun to play around with, at least open the extra Air Tribe starter pack!

I've been struggling with this decision...I got a good deal on eBay for a lot of random boosters, also included a normal release giraffe, so once I receive and open I'll be able to decide the fate of this lot. Having said that, I won't have my hands on the stuff in that photo for at least another two months. O_o

They do look nice in the packaging, though. I don't let mine stay there long enough to appreciate it!

Exactly why I'm struggling haha! For this reason I kind of wish they had released the single figs in box form like the vintage Beasts; I'm more inclined to cut tape and open a box than I am to cut into a blister package. Presentation-wise that's not as reversible but we'll see. :/

And lastly, welcome to LRG!

Thanks, I'm enjoying these forums quite a bit!

We still don't know if the Sofubi collection will be painted figures or not.

Soft vinyl Japanese toys are just really inexpensive and simple action figures. Standard retail figures are always painted (it takes limited exclusive/event figures or collector-oriented releases for them to appear unpainted) and new sculpts are sometimes displayed in opaque, unpainted gray in order to better show off the design in magazines or retail solicitations. There's no reason to believe the Beast Saga sofubi will be anything other than full-color painted vinyls. Maybe if there was some kind of do-it-yourself gimmick being advertised for them, which I don't see.

After a week or so of stalking the Beast Saga threads, I placed an order/pre-order for a could starter sets and about a dozen random figures a couple weeks ago and I have to say these are pretty neat as I recently received the first part of my order. However, I had no idea these are so popular. I was going to wait to order anything more until I seen them in stock but even the pre-orders are becoming sold out. Looks like another toy line I have to add to the list...and eric that dragon figure looks pretty sick.

I would die for that Cthulhu, man.

Edit: Forgot two things. What the hell is that thing beside the Whale on the Takara site? And also, how do I order from amazonjp? It's ridiculously cheaper. Do I have to reside in Japan?

How much you chargin', bro? I can't find them for really that cheap anywhere. Fantastic Plastic Toys is shipping me one for $9 delivered, but it's ONLY the clear boosters, nothing else.

Are you asking about the panther or the orca?

And also, how do I order from amazonjp? It's ridiculously cheaper. Do I have to reside in Japan?

Amazon Japan does not ship toys outside of Japan, sorry. The only way around that is with a Japanese middleman or if the item is not strictly a toy (ie. a limited DVD set with a toy packed-in, which doesn't exist in the case of Beast Saga). The cost of having a middleman will probably eliminate the savings of the figures you want, although it depends on the cost of the middleman service and could prove worthwhile if you order a lot at once.
