I've just *got* to learn how to do this...making toys would be a lifelong dream, and I used to sculpt almost daily as a kid. I don't know why I ever stopped, I guess I just started to prefer drawing...if I'd kept practicing with clay I might be almost as good as you are by now!

Well i've been working hard over the xmas break and got a further 7 figures finished to form a second custom series. Let me know what you think. I'm not sure whose my fav figure now...

I need to run the figure prices again to work out better prices. Will update once all my costs are in to reduce the prices.

The best colours to show the detail are opaque orange, yellow, sulphur yellow, green and blue. Black also available.

Also sorted the cards based upon for reference.

Of course these are custom figures and as such are not affiliated with Garbage Pail Kids but are fan based art customs. They are made from a hard polyester resin and suitable for display only, so not suitable for play/children.

cheers TGB, yeah shiny opaques seem to show the detail best. Although I still want to create others for my sets, such as transparent and glow in the dark. ;)

wow these are great. I'd love to shoot the sh!t with you about molding and casting. Its what I went to school for. I also spent years selling the latest and greatest art supplies, So I know more than I remember sometimes...... Would like to see what you had to work from (materials) and what you ended up settling on and why. Feel free to pm me if you're interested in chatting. I'm also really curious as well as to how well your molds are holding up now that they've seen a few differrent batches and continual use. Are you doing anything to preserve them?

hey,
first off thanks for interest. Im really happy with quality and want to make more colours and to find a decent glass cabinet to display them. The cold weather in the UK over the last few weeks has meant i've had to put a hold on any casting/mould making.

I'm using a high quality liquid silicon for the moulds. Processed twice though a degassing setup. This is the most expensive but most important piece of equipment.

These are the first time i've used silicon, so was not sure how long the moulds would last. Was advised betwen 15-30 but so far the most used early mould looks great after around 25 casts. I've washed them carefully once and has helped soften the silicon that I need to ensure the thinner parts come out well.

Not using any release agent as the silicon im using for the complex shapes means none is required, although its pretty expensive.

So many more plans, I need more time!

So cast much yourself?

Hey,

Yes, small batches, unfortunatly have not had any free time recently, but have a week off work soon so want to grab some time to cast some more to finish my sets too.

If you wanted mixed colour sets (solid colours-orange/yellow/blue/green/black/lemon), I have a few spares finished. For LRG members id accept £30 for a single series of 10 figures or £50 for both sets (20 figures).

Shoot me a mail.
regards rich
