I don't know what there is to process here. The only thing is that the hamster is a little smaller than the rest of the figures, so these figures are going to be slightly larger. I don't think that's much of a surprise. However, it's pretty impressive that it's in almost the same scale as the originals.
If you want a simple analogy, look at the Star Wars figures of today compared to the Kenner Star Wars figures from 1977-1985. Both lines are in 3-3/4" scale, but when you place them side by side, the added articulation and sculpting of the newer figures mean that they stand just a little bit taller. You have a similar situation here.
I never intended these to be integrated seamlessly into my vintage BB collection, but putting them side by side, it's easy to tell that they all share the same inspiration.
I know a lot of you have reservations or strong opinions about this line and how it will compare to the originals. I'm not going into this as a blind BB fanboy. The original line took animals, made them anthropomorphic, and stuck them in armor. It's the same concept, just a little bit updated, which one would expect 25 years later. I love them, and I'm so glad I ordered it all.
