bought this game on the 3rd, 2pm, didn't stop till 10:30 the next morning. I've put in more hours in this game in a 4-day stetch than any other game I've ever liked.

hit level 15 tonight. made it through the hunter's run mission at fort grief. pretty easy. apparently, if you stand in the shadows the computer doesn't realize you're there and you can 6x their asses to death. got some nifty armor out of it too. also, purified the sanctuary so i also got that cool horse with the dark purple fur and the glowing red eyes. that damn thing hauls ass.

I believe I was the master of all the standard guilds...Can't really recall any that I found to be difficult off hand.
I never did anything with the expansions as I never got the chance.

found the best way to flee enemies. just swim. saved my thieving ass may times from the castle guards.
can anyone explain to me how turn undead works in this game. in other games i've played it's pretty much a pass/fail spell that if it's successful the undead become plain old dead. i've got a bow that has a turn undead attribute to it, but when i shoot shizznit that i consider undead nothing really happens.

the forlorn watchman mission. the ghost asks you to release him from the "panthers mouth" or whatever. turns out there's a ship wreck and when you go inside you're immediately attacked by two wraiths. one casts a spell that dumbs down all your stats and then the other one ninjas your ass to death. now that i've got some chameleon armor i may try to sneak in there just to see what happens. last time though, it took me a couple of tries just to get out of the damn ship without them killing me very quickly.
I figured that's what you were talking about after I posted. Cause I know I've done like 99% of the oddball quests in the game. Funny thing is I sort of never got fully into the main quest. My brother sort of ruined the ending for me. I came home just when he was finishing it up. So I never felt an urge to go further than where I was at.
But I don't recall what weapon I used usually. I had a habit of only using unique weapons until their enchantments ran out of a charge. Since there were so many, I'd just switch it out for another enchanted weapon. I always liked getting into archer battles with other archers.

i've been trying to figure out leveling up in the game. if anyone can tell me exactly how it works, that'd be great. how i think it works is this, you perform different actions and your stat points increase. after a certain number of stat increases (i think 5) it tells you that you should rest and meditate on what you've learned. is this correct?

how embarrassing. okay, so i've killed these fish before, i don't remember their name but they're the only fish i've seen. maybe slaughterfish. anyway, i've always been able to kill them pretty easily in the past with just my shadowhunt bow. a mini quest i'm doing asked me to get 12 of their scales. simple. especially where they're located. i can just bait them into the shore and arrow their ass from the safety of a rock. so, i setup my strategy, swim out and find the first fish. arrow between the eyes for 3x damage. it begins to chase me. as i'm swimming backwards unloading arrows on it i notice this fish is either super fast compared to the other ones i've killed or something has gone horribly wrong. turns out, my bow which normally paralyzes an enemy briefly is out of charge and this fish is way faster than i thought they were. and a bit of a fighter too. i'm dropping arrows into it like crazy but it combos me to death in short time.
the moral of this story, always pay attention to how many uses your items have and don't forget to heal after fighting some ogres and a troll. luckily my last autosave was only a mere moment before my huge embarrassing failure.

as for the enchanted weapons, does anyone know if there's only specific weapons in the game, or if they're randomly generated a la dungeon siege?

In Oblivion, i found every fight through the entire game to just be tedious because no matter how strong you get, every random bear or goblin in the game is getting stronger with you.
I didn't like that aspect either. It wasn't so much the tough battles as it was the way every bandit and raider you meet after a certain level is wearing full Daedric or Glass armour... seemed somewhat ridiculous.
