These are two ideas I have been sketching on my ipad. I like them enough to make better sketches in my sketchbook. I have ideas for a kid hero, a wizard and a lady floating around as well. We need some lady ideas and some sci-fi ideas for sure in series 3!

Beastmonger. Sketching out various ideas for poses on this guy. Want to make him imposing. He will strike fear into backyard lizards! Maybe he can end up in Universe of Violence if OMFG doesn't happen?


and no name for this guy yet, just been calling cat mummy. This little dude might be ambitious for my limited sculpting skills, but I will fight him every step of the way.

I love the fisto beard, reminds of that old saying, I'll kick your *** with both hands tied behind my back,...to funny.

Heres a couple I did about ten years ago, probaly not wacky enough but would love to see them in mini form.

I am gonna lower his stance so it's more action oriented but other then that i'm not sure if i should do anything else.

well as is, its gonna be a 2 piece figure, like the puke knight.

Ok let me try to describe this right. I can make the whole back side of the beard press flat against the figure. So it's rounded out on the side you see in the sketch but isn't rounded on the side touching the figure. So instead of the beard arms being pipe shaped they would be like half pipe shaped. Except the fist that extends past the shoulder cause that should work fine since it will both with both halves.

Wouldn't that avoid any undercuts?



This is a pretty important part since most likely at some point in the future i'll be trying really hard to get you to mold/cast it for me.

yeah its hard to say from a drawing, if you can pull it off so it doesnt need any special needs on the mold, it should be good.

Just sayin, you like to make things interesting when it comes to molding.

Quite a few of the Series 1 figures were two pieces. For example. Stroll had his arms glued on. Phantom Shithouse has a removeable top.

You can keep him like the original drawing and they can just mold the beard as a separate part to be glued on at production time.

I wouldn't even do that. I think he looks more badass just standing there nonchalant like he knows his fist-beard can F someone up without him even breaking a sweat. Kinda like the Pai Mei fight scene in Kill Bill where he just stands there with his hands behind his back and doesn't really get in a defensive stance.

Really? That does make sense looking at the figures.

I asked the OT guy a few days ago when i had the front facing beard and he said it wouldn't work that way, he needed everything to work with a two piece mold like the old muscle guys so maybe he's trying to make it more simple this time around? Man if i could do a two part figure like puke knight i would go nuts with it.

Yeah Eric i like to keep you on your toes with my random undercuts and bermuda triangle tails. Just be glad someone else tried to make the beargod At least i'm learning though! Sort of.

That would look good. Bending the knees might help keep it under the height limit too though.

Less than a month til the deadline and the S3 thread has only 26 pages compared to 147 pages for S2.

You should run with whichever version you think looks more bad ass. Any molding/sculpting issues can be worked out after you've won a spot!

That was my plan originally but i actually decided i wanted to enter a sculpt instead of a sketch so i was trying to iron everything out. That way even when i lose i'll have something i can try and get someone to mold/cast up anyway. Buuuuut maybe i'll just go with a sketch.

Actually, Ralph showed me an unassembled phantom shithouse going back a bit.
It was in 5 pieces, The roof, body, legs and each arm.
dunno why George is being such a stickler over only a two part mould.

Haha, that would be cool even on its own away from omfg.
So I don't see the big deal.
All this talk of right height, no/minimal undercuts and only a 2 part mould really dampens my creativity towards this project.
Not to mention having your idea stolen.
I much preferred crawdad kid in his original submission with claws splayed anyways.

Yeah they seem strict about the height/width as well and i saw it posted that the reason size is so important is cause the packaging is already bought so everything needs to fit.



Even looking at series 2 there is no way shirtle was a two part mold.

It likely has to do with cost of the steel mold. The more cavities, the more it costs. To be able to keep the price point at $10 per 5 figures, the less cavities and inserts the better.

Gorewads are pretty simple, but still fairly detailed. I think you can still work out a lot of detail, as long as you're strict about keeping the characters stance/posture on a relatively flat plane.
