Hwhat?! The claw is really a Tyrannosaurus foot! That is awesome, haha. How cool. And again, it makes perfect sense in keeping with the shoe/reptile motif.

According to wiki (which we know is not always accurate) the shoe form is the "base/true" form, and the reptile transformations are his "attacks/techniques." Only Yutemago could conceive a character like that!

I think Wiki is slightly inaccurate (shocker). :) My understanding of Snigator (at least, what I could gather from the manga) is that each form is kind of like a costume that he uses for unique attacks (hence the laces on the chest). He has layers of these reptilian costumes and sheds a costume to reveal a new form with unique attack styles. The Claw was the most base form of Snigator (the shoe was another costume that he shed).

So, Snigator starts out in the gator form. When he wants to change to new attacks, he unlaces the chest of the costume and reveals the chameleon form. After that was the frilled lizard, then the turtle, then the snake (not #84, by the way), then the shoe, and finally, the Claw.

I didn't get the impression that the shoe is the base form, since the shoe was unlaced to reveal the Claw. But I could be wrong, I'm just going by what I saw in the manga.

Ah, that makes sense and must be what Doc meant by saying "The last form he uses, and the only form that does not have laces." Because there's no laces and it's the last "form," we can assume it's not a costume. (So the "forms" really seem to be different costumes!)

I wonder if the "shoe" costume was just a silly play on the fact that the previous customs all had laces and they thought it would be funny to throw a shoe into the mix as they too have laces.

:)

And now I wonder if the wiki info that the claw is a Tyrannosaurus foot is accurate?

That is what I have always heard. And with the shoe form for Sneagator and Max Man (Pumpinator) it does make sense.

I think that the Snigator costumes were intended to be kind of like shoes themselves because they have shoe laces. So, I think the character was intended to be kind of a mesh between reptiles that shed their skin and shoes that you can unlace and take off. Also, remember that each form of Snigator (except the snake and claw) have those sneakers on.

And now I wonder if the wiki info that the claw is a Tyrannosaurus foot is accurate?

I think so. In the manga, you can see a few panels that show a T-Rex and its relation to the Claw.

I don't believe so. At least nothing was stated in the anime. Max Man (Pumpinator) was the relative.
Maybe in the manga?

Ha! I was aware of all of that info, except for the claw being a TRex Foot.....I had always thought that the claw was an ironic final form of Snigator.....Since he was based on shoes, but then turned out to be the exact opposite....a giant hand. :) Guess I was wrong. Either way he still can be called the Claw, since TRex's have clawed feet.

Ahha.
That's more like it.
Two goodlooking sculpts.
While Buffaloman is a bad-ass fig,
I still have to go with Jar Jar Binks!

I didn't realize he had a secret life as a muscle! :)

Go Snigator!

DK77.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!! lol Thats the 2nd time youve stolen my thoughts in this tournament.

Jar Jar was my immediate thought upon seeing that figure. With that said i cannot in good conscious vote for anything that looks like Jar Jar.

Buffaloman by default.

Same here. Ive only seen a few clips of matches between characters so im actually voting based upon first impressions of the sculpts.

Ive been interested in checking out a few matches with some of the obscure characters but the few minutes of anime that ive seen were ...not good (and also not wrestling ). I need to see some actual matches with these characters in action.

I believe that is actually the criteria Veers would like us to use for voting. That is, voting for ones preferred sculpt as opposed to voting for ones preferred character.

Well, yes. But I think that knowledge of a character can give you a better appreciation for a sculpt that might have just been previously misunderstood. In this case for example, had i voted for Snigator it wouldn't have been because i love his character. Because even with this new information, i've still never had the opportunity to see the series or read the manga. It would have been because the new information increased my appreciation for the details included in the sculpt. :)

That being said, i'm actually still pretty content with my vote for Buffaloman. Like Veers said, that sculpt just has something extra that makes it a really great villain design. Only the general lack of story available to Americans could have kept a villain design like that from being as iconic today as Megatron or Skeletor.

You are 100% right. I think this will be important as we move forward with other tournaments. If we went by character depth a shizznitty Gandalf figure would automatically beat an original Godbeast figure because it has a stronger "character."

But if you compared the quality, originality, playability, etc. Godbeast would win hands down.

Does that make sense?

I also think this guideline will help when we pit different toy against each other. Let's face it the Claw (or shoe or alligator or whatever he is) is a much better figure than a brand new General Madine figure.

Tortle is right, as far as I remember, and I can pull out my manga if I need to. But the shoe was his second to last form. Orgg is right too, it is a Tyranosaur claw, the claw jumps out of the shoe revealing his true self. He is also right when he says marty's mom is a good lay.

Here's what will happen with ties. I'll annouce that there are X hours left (or the next time I can get to the thread). If the tie hasn't been broken, the LRG Tournament committee will decide the outcome.

There is now one hour left in this game.
