It just won't ever be the same. In the beginning these people who were classifying figures and figuring out the trees and where stuff was sold originally were doing it because they were curious and interested and wanted to verify things that mattered to them and their friends. It sounds stupid to say it was some golden age back then because it wasn't but in a few ways it actually was. That won't happen again. Go look at the scammers thread. Look at the purple claw someone found just recently and came here for information and help only to have another member win the auction then decide not to pay. Can you really trust people's motive these days? Look how many "friends" work together to screw people over then have a falling out and call one another out publicly these days. It's a huge mess. Even if there are better ways to categorize muscles figures now then there were before it doesn't really matter because the trust is all but gone from the hobby. Maybe i'm biased or bitter having been a staff member here for awhile and dealing personally with the darkest side of collecting these little rubber toys but that's how i see it.

I hear you. I've been around for 3 years and rarely come to the table with my opinion but there was just something about how without the class system I wouldn't be here or have my son picking up the little guys before he could even talk. In fact, he called my colored announcer collection his "babies" after a little while, lol. Now he's 3 1/2 and never stops talking. Anyway, I say my points with a grain of salt because you guys have the history which I think means more. I personally would love to see another golden era (or even a silver era) where new collectors get more excited and join in, I see that getting further away. It would be a lot of fun to see an expanded class system grow in realtime and I think would give a little steroid shot to the group. A great new project and screw the scammers. i am way in favor of expanding to a 4 class system but I'd headshot the class system before going with just C and A.

It's good to hear and understand your take on it, thanks.

For what it's worth... I'm sure if they do anything it won't just be A and Cs... Because that would make much sense. Perhaps they will rename them or something.

I figured it would flip to A (current A's) and B (current B's and C's). Which is what I was referring to when I commented above, and if that is it I vote headshot.

I just said A's and C's because the talk is eliminating B's (melded in the current C grouping).

I propose the issue of MUSCLE classes be determined in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match. The winner chooses what system is implemented.

I am not sure about that.

My personal view is, the class system (which was meant mainly for informative purposes) was basically perverted and used to help substantiate the greed of a select few. Time has more or less proven this, through countless shill bidding and botched auction fiascos. The MUSCLE class system isn't going anywhere, and people will still join the hobby... But it seems that for every one person joining, 2-3 MUSCLE collectors give up on the hobby because of it's shadiness.

That's a good point on the collectors giving up because of the shenanigans.  I stopped chasing the master set mainly because of time, energy and money- but I agree- I bet tons of people who want to start into the line, are just completely put off by this kind of stuff.

I mean, when you can't just buy a couple of 2" mini figures without having to deal with shill bidding, backhanded deals, and justifications on why "He who pays the most is the most correct", you kind of just stop caring and move on to other things... And, that is exactly what I did. I know I am not the only one.

What's funny is, when I first started here, MUSCLE collectors were the chill ones, and it was the MIMP crowd you expected the craziness from. I think the MUSCLE crowd has either met or exceeded MIMP-level craziness.

Speaking from the BB camp, I'll just say it's a true blessing that most Transformers collectors don't give a shit about Beastformers (or even realize it's a related series).

Prices and competition for high-end items is already bad enough, though more relaxed than a few years ago, but I can only imagine how crazy it would get if the property gained attention from that crowd.

Yea, I'm always surprised that more transfomer fans aren't on the BB bandwagon.

We still have plenty of d-bags in MIMP. So many con-men selling toys. It is really sad and pathetic.
