yeah definitely... i'd love to see it. i've been checking everywhere and still to no avail i cant find these. Im hitting up my collectible expo tomorrow so im hoping. if i find them im gonna be buying quite a few, even tho i shouldnt with comic con coming up next week. we'll see. =]
i would totally wait if i were you. it wouldn't be a comicon without handful of heroes. besides, there may be something there that you absolutely can't live without and you just spent crazy money on handfuls and you are now short on dollaridoos. play it safe bruthaman. there'll be handfuls around for a while.

I'm glad there are no bases on em. Except Beast. He was upside down and I think he needed one for that position. What's the balance on these? Sometimes minifigs that are slim (especially in the legs) tip easily. Also, relating to the "what if" DC line, I found a crank (money) machine at a Wal-Mart with Batman minifigs based on the latest incarnation. I has about 6 different poses. They are nice figs with a touch of paint apps. Annoyingly, though, they all have bases.

You know that Angel has a base too, right? I don't have him, so I can't take a picture of him, now can I? Look at the second picture and you'll see what I mean. In the far right, you'll see Angel between Sabretooth and Classic Wolverine. Thanks for the review. Very helpful. I've had my eyes peeled lately too. But nuthin yet here in the Midwest....

Yep, you're right. I noticed that right after posting. I bet those wings make him awfully top heavy therefore requiring the base. You know that Angel has a base too, right? Although the package quite loudly touts "collect all 120 figures!", there are actually only 40 characters in the set. Each figure comes in 3 colors. However there are more than three colors, so you apparently can't put together complete matching color sets. The basic colors are: yellow, blue, green, red and black. Each color group consists of solid, clear and clear with glitter. The only exception seems to be the deep blood red color. It appears to only come in clear.
Dr. Doom, Spider Man, Thing
New here, but I've been doing some research on this line for the Wiki, and after looking at your figures against the large poster showing all the figures available, I don't think they come in 3 colors each. Hasbro isn't wording it correctly, so it's a little misleading.
When they say each sculpt comes in 3 colors, I think it means each figure comes in 3 finishes: solid, clear, and clear with glitter.
Your Thing is solid, while the one on the poster is clear with glitter. But both are orange.
And you have two Dr. Dooms, one is solid and one is clear with glitter. Both are the darker green.
So I doubt you'd have one solid green, one glitter green, and then a blue. It looks like each figure comes in one color, but 3 finishes.

I think the colors are more varied too, especially when you look at the checklist:
Light blue, dark green, black, yellow (might be an orange too -- hard to tell), light green, light red, dark blue, dark red.

thanks for the info, scan/link and theory. i'm willing to bet that you're correct. it would make sense to keep characters like the hulk in "shades" of green. if this is indeed the case, i may end up only getting a set of solids.

Thanks!
Yeah, looking at other promotional pictures around the net, I've yet to see a single figure in a color other than on the poster, but I have seen different finishes.
Which is better, I think, than having it be 3 random colors if there's more than 3 colors in the line. That way you can at least complete a set of solids, clears, or clear with glitter.
It's worth noting too, that on the back of the package, there's an Onslaught sculpt in a clear yellow/orange. It's the only sculpt on the back (unless I'm missing one) that isn't on the checklist poster. So I wonder if it's part of a second wave or if it's a super rare figure in this wave.

i would love to think that there'll be a wave 2. does the back of the packaging list the sculpt as onslaught? and have you found a pic/scan of the back card? don't know if i'm all that keen on more super-rares. since marvel says there's 120 of 40 unique sculpts we'll assume that the onslaught character is from a second wave or at least from a pool of proposed characters (prototype?). then again, just because marvel has something printed on the package doesn't make it true. for all we know the 120 may just be a "guideline". after all, these are the same people who green lighted a daredevil product with the spelling "darevil".
Oh, whoops. Forgot to put the link in the post: http://therumorbuste...ack_partial.jpg
Yeah, it's the only one shown that isn't on the checklist.

Maybe that's old news. But it was new to me. Maybe they are backing up the release again.

There's a Gladiator Hulk in solid blue instead of green, but otherwise the basic colors seem to match. If there's any other differences, they're more subtle.
Also, we've got a totally new figure - a yellow Hulk with his arms raised, about to smash something good.

A blurb about Handful of Heroes during the Hasbro Marvel Panel. Listen very carefully to what they say.

by the way, there are more than just the 40 sculpts/3 colors; I passed over a gold Spidey and picked up a silver "classic" Wolverine.
