Oh man, ditto. I love the original Battle Beasts Panther, and this pretty-in-pink version for Beast Saga was a real disappointment.
Heh, my girlfriend loves the Panther. She loves cats, and has been using the Lion and Panther on her team, with the Elephant as her third when we play, and I've already come to the conclusion that when I get the december figures, the Cat from that team will be her third. I've already called dibs on the Tiger though.
It's weird, since she likes the game I've been playing it more often than not. Because of that I've been spending time trying to figure out the rules, and come up with some strategies and different ways of playing. I think I've got most of the magic die figured out. Mirror reflects (personally I like this as just block rather than reflect, because then you can't be reflected back, but can still block opponents magic die), Break cancels other magic die, Doping adds your Magic Lot to your attack number (good for low die Battle Lot but high Magic Lot characters like Bundotto), Reverse and Inverse rotate the opponents die to the left/right (good against water, bad against air tribe), Change swaps your number with my number, and Join adds the bottom number to the top number of your attack die (very powerful for Water Tribe, still good for other tribes).
These are mostly personal interpritations of the rules that I've been able to figure out, with some house rules, like since everything is mine, to decide magic dice we put all the ones I have in the table and we alternate choosing them, and if there is a tie both opponents can choose to withdraw or use magic dice until the tie is broken (which is good for teams of high Magic Lot characters). And not allowing Mixed Tribe teams or special abilities (because I don't understand what they do, or how to use them or what a good translation of the abilities are, and not all characters have them yet)
Playing the game has been a lot more fun then I expected. We also made a drinking game out of it and have played with friends. I had to setup a round robin tournament last weekend, heh.
