There don't seem to be any rules regarding that, considering they allowed Neptuneman to kick his partner off his team after he was defeated and replace him with one of the guys they were supposed to be fighting (with the justification "well, we allowed Terryman to take Kamehame's place in the last tournament, so why not?"). If anything, THAT should have been a rule violation of some sort.

the original tag series stuff could be waved away since you know, no-one knew Terryman was in the Great costume at the time, and when everyone DID find out, they were already like half way through the final match.

although its a bit amusing actually that you brought up the whole Neptuneman/Mammothman shizznit (god knows I love talk about that clustereff) since Harabote only allowed it because he was feeling particularly dickish and explicitly stated the whole Terryman/Kin Great debacle as the reason why he was allowing the team up.

tl;dr Harabote is bipolar.

Y'know that guy that we didn't know who he was that founded the DMP in Ultimate Muscle? Yea, that was ;). Totally. He's a two-sided character. He's the DMP member of the Muscle League.

A second cloaked figure (I think, it's hard to tell when the pages are out of order) came out of nowhere, threw a spear with a note of some sort attached at the finishing hold fresco, and ran away. Now Mantaro is running somewhere to learn one of the three techniques.

Also his friends are running to watch, I guess.

Hmm, well I was meaning BEFORE that, but I remedied that just by going back a few pages.

I suppose this means the plot is at least pretending to move forward. I wish they'd just put this arc out of its misery.

HAHA OH GOD i forsee mantaro learning the perfect muscle spark and T&L break it, and everyone goes like NOOOO. and then Mantaro and kevin do a tag team move with the muscle spark and another move and bam! history is utterly destroyed for teh lulz

I like it, I think it's pretty cool.
Like it's weekly, awesome art, comedy action, original people.
Just what I like.
It does move slowly but probably the same reason as the other classics do...

As a whole, I really do enjoy Kinnikuman. I've had a lot of fun reading the original manga, and even a good portion of Nisei.

However, that doesn't mean I have to take everything Yudetamago throws at me and enjoy it.

These kinds of posts are so frequent that I'm amazed that we don't have a copy/paste stock response yet.

We don't hate Kinnikuman. A good chunk of this forum has put a lot of effort into the fandom as a whole, whether by translating, gathering info on current happenings in Japan, contributing fanworks, or frequently making off-topic Kinnikuman threads on a certain Comics & Cartoon board (you know who you are). We complain a lot because that's just how we roll.

Hell, back when I was textsetting the series, I'd always nitpick something just for the hell of it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy reading the series as I worked, though.

The only comedy in this current arc is unintentional.

sigh.. I don't hate this series, I truly wanted to love it. When my friends were growing disinterested in the current arc as early as the start of the whole Seuichin mess, I was the one defending it and thinking to myself "its in a slump right now, but it'll be back to the Nisei antics I love soon." how ever many years its been later I'm bashing my head against a wall because of the whole Mammothman/Neptuneman crap and realizing they were right all along.

I still love Kinnikuman, I still love Nisei. If this arc actually gets translated I'll buy the volumes too. I just grew insanely bitter after months of disappointment and crushed hopes for this arc.

At least I realized Thunder and Lightning are totally badass out of this mess. imho they have the "spirit" of the villains from the original series - that's probably why I like them as much as I do.

ugh I second this.

Chaos was so interesting early on. he had this mixture of geekiness, mystery and just downright likability that made him a really good and, dare I say, unique character. and then they made him practically flawless, and in the end even the things I originally liked about him just made me hate him even more.

Such a waste.

I think it was Phoenix...he destroyed the Muscle Spark picture so neither Mantaro nor Suguru could learn it and defeat him with it.
