Newer pics of the X wave. This wave is gonna be sick! It looks like the Aim Soldier has a new body type! Does it look sort of familiar to anyone else? The design just looks so familiar. Like if you swap the head and paint it a certain way it would be a particular character. Maybe Starlord?

WoW!!! Colossus looks BAAAAD AZZZZZZZZZ!!! I hope he is tall and just towers above the regular sized characters as he should. I dig the distress detailing on Juggy's helmet. And as a bonus, Kittie Pryde is accessorized with what else but a "Little Rubber Guy"!

Hey, I have been reading your posts, and finding them very helpful for collecting, but I was wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way about these marvel universe figures. I have been collecting marvel toys for years, but these marvel universe toys may stop me from collecting. I find it so frustrating that they are making common characters into these very difficult to find chase figures. I am missing a few figures from every series except the secret wars, only because I gave up looking and ordered them online. I really wish marvel would make variants the chase figures, so the collectors can at least find the character. Bullseye, for example, is impossible to find. I even work in retail and open the boxes before they hit the floor, and I can still only find the same characters over and over again. I have been to toys r us, walmart, zellers and various comic shops dozens of times, only to find a bunch of hand ninjas, Punishers (not to complain, since he is my favorite character). Then when I go online to order them, the online stores want $50 and up for such small figures. I wan to keep collecting them, but as each new set comes out, I get further and further behind with my missing figures. At least with marvel legends (until the last few series) the characters where easy to find, and if I found a variant, I was happy enough to buy it. Anyone else having such a difficult time tracking these figures down, or is it just me. It also doesn't help when there are a bunch of target exclusives and there are no target store in Canada :D

I'm pretty sure EVERY action figure line is a horrible pain-in-the-ass ordeal to collect, and has been for about a decade. I used to collect Marvel Legends, and DC Universe Classics, and a handful of other similar lines, and those were just as bad if not worse than Marvel Universe. If anything, i've noticed these being easier to collect. Sure, certain characters are hard to find. But after this many waves most stores i go to seem to have 10-12 characters available on a pretty consistent basis, from multiple waves, which is more than pretty much any other modern era superhero line can say. I mean, i've seen every figure out so far at least once, and i don't even toy shop that much anymore. Back in my days of collecting those other lines, i'd be hitting stores up every day or two and there were whole WAVES that were apparently just never released, as far as i could tell.

And to Hasbro's credit, they are trying this time. Didn't get Bullseye the first time? Don't worry, they shipped him out in a later assortment as well. Electro's rare? Well he'll be five to a case in a month. MUCH better than Marvel Legends figures like Apocalypse, Juggernaut, and Deadpool, who basically were always $40-50 a pop and always will be.

I wonder if this is all location based, because I had no problem finding marvel legends...the variants were one thing, but I was able to find at least one of each character. I hope I can find the marvel universe figures, because I really enjoy the hunt, its just been really frustrating finding the same selection in multiple cities. I would think Hasbro would make more money if they made the figures more available, but it has been so difficult, making the trips and just seeing the same variety in every store. You mentioned Electro being rare for you, that is one figure I have been able to find. We may just be really behind here, but if it keeps up, finding all the figures is losing all its appeal.

I'm pretty sure the Marvel Legends i mentioned were hard for just about everyone to find, i still see Deadpool sell for like $30-$50 loose sometimes. And i've never seen a Juggernaut ML in person that cost under $30. But yeah, it's all location based with action figures, really. Just saying, overall, Marvel Universe seems to be easier to collect for a lot of people than your average superhero line has been in the past.

Then again i kind of approach this whole thing with a different perspective than i did in the past...not really sweating completion, i just kinda casually pick up what i like here and there.

I had difficulty catching up on the first 2 waves when I started collecting. In fact I probably had to hunt for a few months, and even made a run to the border of Georgia, and a few counties over from mine in order to find the remnants of the first 4 waves. But now the line has pretty much substantiated itself in the collector community, so many times I don't have to go further than 15 minutes from my house and find them. Crap, some times I have just stopped by Wal-Mart at about 4 in the morning after work and found new waves. I've been able to find every single figure shopping, except for the Red Goliath. I had to buy that from BattleChaser, cause literally no store anywhere had them in stock.

And only 2 variants escape me, and I'm not even sure they have been officially sold yet. :)

Electro (Matte finish)
Daredevil (Dark Red)

I'm in consensus, I've had a fairly easy time finding these. With the exception of Bullyseye and Yellow Golaiath. I've seen everyone of these at retail. Those two I traded for. One tip I have is find stores where they are more expensive but are convinent to shop at. Then stop in on your regular toy runs and check for sales. As mentioned earlier there is a regional store here in the United States called Shop-Ko who want 11 or 12 dollars for MU but I was in there around Christmas and they were running a buy one get one half off sale on all toys. Picked up Grey Hulk and actual fist Iron Fist variant for a regular price.

I didn't know they had Target exclusives except for the battle packs coming out and those are all redos of figures we already have. If you still think you want them find somebody around here who will pick them up for you.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a little more interested in finding some of these figures now that you mentioned that the newer sets have been easier to find. I even tried collecting MU when they first started appearing, unlike past collections. I was tired of having sets canceled on me after buying the first few waves, such as the superhero showdown, and figure factory. I do find the MU figures to be much higher quality than the showdown figures. Location must be key in availability, since I found ML Deadpool and Juggernaut easily (but only when they first came out). Yet I still have not found Guardian in the legends or MU. You would think he would be easy to find in Canada. :)

X-Force Archangel is the winner. Stupid thirty dollar exclusives. The Warpath was so sharp looking I went back and bought the X-Force Wolverine. They hang out with WarMachine. Not as an exclusive though.

I already found 2010 Wave 2 in my area! Totally missed the ball on this one. Found 5 of them, but couldn't find a Black Widow, and I thought she would be the peg warmer. I didn't stop at all my normal stops though, as I was with someone this time. Maybe I can find the time some time later this week, and hopefully score a Widow.

Thor simply looks amazing! Can't wait to open him.

Oh! I forgot to mention the apparently new price mark I've noticed on the MU figs. They are $7.88 in my area now! That's a whole .66 cents cheaper than the original $8.44!

And despite still not finding a Widow, I've been able to open the rest up, and I have to say, Hasbro did not disappoint on this wave. I had my doubts about a few of them, but I love them all. Iron Man and Thor are must haves for sure.

Yep, I too can confirm the new $7.88 price markdown at Wal-Wart for MU. A little reprieve at least!
I scored Thor too,and yes, he is awesome. They also had 1 Bucky, 3 Luke Cages, 1 Black Widow, and 1 Iron Man. Agreed, Hasbro has done a fine job so far on this latest Wave and also on the latest Secret Wars.

Well, I finally found the Black Widow today, and just opened it! :) .........Wait a ....HEEEEEY!!! SHE HAS 2 RIGHT HANDS!!!! :hi: 80 or so figures so far purchased from this line, and this is the first defective figure I have gotten. Suckage...

I emailed Hasbro, hopefully they will be able to hook me up with a replacement. I don't feel like hunting another one down. Stupid Hasbro, and I was so happy I found one.

Captain Britain is a thumbs up from me and I am really curious to see Ghost Rider, although like a lot of other people I wonder if/how he is going to come with a motorcycle (my guess is not, then Hasbro can sell us the exact same figure in a deluxe set later in the year).

A little worried about the 1 Skrull soldier per case. I hope Hand Ninja didn't discourage Hasbro from army builders Hand ninja was poorly done and even people who army built with him didn't need more than three or four.

Has Hasbro promised you a replacement Black Widow specifically? Or even a Marvel Universe figure at all?

As a member of the TF fandom, I've repeatedly heard horror stories about making figure returns directly to Hasbro. Often they'll send a TF of equal value to the defective figure, but sometimes they'll ship whatever the hell they want. Someone's gotten fricking Nerf weapons in return for their defective Transformer!

Gross! I'd be piossed if they sent me Nerf or Nothin! :p But this was their word for word response.

Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. regarding your Marvel Universe Black Widow. We appreciate your bringing this matter to our attention and apologize for any disappointment this may have caused.
Please be assured that I have shared your concerns with the product team. We will be pleased to arrange an exchange for you.
To help facilitate the process, we are sending you a postage paid mailing label to use when returning the product to us. All you need to do is package up your return and place the mailing label securely on the package. Drop it off at the Post Office window and it’ll be on its way back to us.
Once the product is received at our returns facility, we will send a new replacement product. If there is a production delay and this product is not available we will replace it with a product of equal value.
I want to assure you that all of us are dedicated to maintaining quality products. I hope you and your family will enjoy our products for many years to come.

That's why I said hopefully. As I'm more than positive I'll be getting shafted and be sent a Spider-Man or something. :) Equal value isn't very reassuring, as it is almost always the overstock that gets sent out. :bleh: I've had pretty good results with returns in the past from other companies. I've even received low production pieces in exchange for common stuff. :D Maybe they will send me a Blonde Black Widow! :woot:

I am really curious to see Ghost Rider, although like a lot of other people I wonder if/how he is going to come with a motorcycle (my guess is not, then Hasbro can sell us the exact same figure in a deluxe set later in the year).

You know me too! I'm very interested in seeing GR's outcome. I wouldn't mind him being a single pack character, but I would very much love to get him with his cycle. But I'm not concerned, I'd buy him single and deluxed as well. Ghost Rider has so many great palate swap options, and potential with GITD effects.

And I think the Aim Soldier body may be used for him, so I'm thinking it's going to be the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider.

Ohhhhh yeah. That's a fun little form letter you've received there. The very same one, minus the obvious bits at the top, I've read a few times before.

On the bright side, if you at least get a MU back, you might be able to return it to the store with your receipt. And if you get Black Widow herself, perfect! You seem to have a healthy realization of your odds though, which is good, just in case.

Well, this is why I've decided to take BW with me into town if I happen to go this weekend. If I come across another I'll just buy it, then take the other one in for a refund. If I don't I'll use the label to send it back and hope for the best. Crud...I'd be fine with a Transformer or Star Wars fig. I don't readily collect those, so it's more likely I won't have what they send me. :D

I picked up Black Widow today at Toys R Us to complete the newest series. Toys R' Us had a whole endcap of MU but I don't know if it was permanant or just a fill in for a week.

After seeing Ms. Marvel (classic and modern) peg warming I also wonder if Hasbro is a little gun shy on giving us the ladies. I think I've only seen one Jean Grey and Black Widow was the last one of this series I saw. I hope I don't have a hard time finding Kitty Pryde and Mystique.
