actually i do like Thunder and Lightning there more dynamic than Neptuneman and Budo were

Neptuneman and Budo are more likable because they dont just make up powers on the spot. They also actually incurred damage and came up against genuine obstacles in their matches. They also had development as things progressed through the tournament, well, Neptuneman did anyway.

T&L are so powerful, so skilled, so utterly god damned unbeatable its both stupid and scary. I simply cannot grasp how Kid and Kevin are going to beat them. We dont even know who they are, or what the hell they want, they just appear out of nowhere and beat the crap out of everyone.

hes got you there Proteus and sure Nep and Budo took damage but they were able to heal using there magnet power if you remember?

Ok, you guys raise valid points concerning NEptune and Budo pulling powers out of nowhere.

But still, they did incur damage and gennuinely have problems in their matches.

Neptuneman and Big the Budo pulled insane abilities out of their ass at pretty much every waking moment. Magnet Power and the time reversal thing were big, as was Neptuneman's mask SOMEHOW draining energy from anyone who hit it. Plus the Iron Sweat coming out of nowhere.

But eff, they were at least fun to watch compared to Thunder and Lightning. The Dream Tag Arc only was like, what, six or seven volumes in the original manga? At the very worst? This has been going on for *years* and it's getting old.

Also, what a surprise. Kevin Effing Mask is here to save the day again. >_> Nice to see him finally do something in this arc. Plus, Yude's contractually obligated to never have him lose a fight so we know that he and Mantaro will win somehow

Well, in essence, Kinnikuman is mostly about pulling moves out from nowhere. As well as being about wrestling, justice, friendship and all that.

And I can't say I've any strong criticisms about the current story, since I'm only just seeing the odd scans and not reading the story itself. Even if it is taking 7 years to cover one story arc.

I understand why you guys don't like them, but personally I find T&L enjoyable BECAUSE of the crazy sh*t they do.
Chest full of swords? Nah, just shake that off.
Cross Bomber? Don't work on me yo.
Muscle Millennium? BEHOLD THE POWER OF THUNDER'S BUTT.

Sadly Lightning probably won't even think of using his arm blades, even though they'd be useful at a time like this.

Kevin is so overpowered that even his chest armor can do serious damage to Lightning. And Thunder just decided he doesn't want to help Lightning even when he's fighting 1mt away from him. I would actually like T&L winning the tournament, and then revealing that they are actually good

i dont think Face Flash can restore a persons limb but i could be wrong and Kevins not as overpowered as Thunder and Lightning Mantarou had Kevin on the ropes several times in there match i should know i have the manga to prove it

Alright I left this topic for a couple of months, and now Ive come back, and Thunder and Lighting still arent dead?

Gah!!! Why wont those dudes just get killed already, and Kevin Mask is Chaos? What the freak! I have missed so much I feel like an idiot.

Ohh well I hope that now since Kevin has his armour he and Mantaro beat the crap out of Thunder, and Lightning.

interesting it seems Thunder and Lightning are losing and Mantarou if we're lucky may have just knocked off whats left of Thunders mask also Kevin using Robin Special V2 on Lightning is awesome

Looks like Lightning got out of the Robin Special before it landed and got Kevin into a Boston Crab, possibly mid-air, resulting in him slamming Kevin's groin/stomach into the ring floor.

"Ashura" does indeed come from "Asura" (hence why I prefer using "Asura" - It also stems from how "Asuraman" is spelt all in katakana, as opposed to using the ateji kanji that "Ashura" has). This brings me onto today's mini lesson of ateji, for those like Tubba-san.

"Ateji" is when the Japanese language takes a word from another language, and uses phonetically similar kanji to make up the word. There are at least two examples in Kinnikuman where this takes place. One is with Asura, for Asuraman. The kanji used is 阿修羅. The kanji 修羅 makes up the "Shura" part, and actually means "scene of carnage/battle/fighting" on its own. It can be found in the Dragonball Z image song, "Shura-Iro no Senshi", which I translated a while ago. The "A" which makes up the remaining part of the word seems to be a Kanji accepted as showing the word has to do with Buddhism, as it is in ateji for other Buddhist related words like "Om".

The other example in Kinnikuman is the mountain Superman, The Maunten. This is also why I spell it out Maunten, as opposed to "Mountain". The Maunten's Kanji, making up his name are "Ma", "Un" and "Ten", meaning "Demon", "Cloud" and "Heavens/Skies" respectively.

Well, hello! I've just started reading the Nisei sagas just to find out that there won't be more volumes released from Viz after the volume 29. That's exhasperating u_u
At least I can read here the tag team saga and all.
By the way, now that there won't be more volumes at sale, does anybody know if there will be scanlations of all this? Thanks.

Wait after 29 they arent translating anymore? Where did you here that at? Ive been buying the manga since the show ended. Im about to buy volume 28, please post up a link of the article you found this news at. I hope that is just a rumor cause I love Ultimate Muscle and I want this to keep getting translated.

As far as scanlations, I dont think that many people are fans of Kinnikuman Niesi/Ultimate Muscle, because of how we dubbed it. (I personally liked it except for Geronimo's name being changed to Beetlebomb)

But someone might start translating it maybe, at least I hope so.
