That vehicle reminds me of StarCom. That and the extra-large Bakugan toys my son has.

That's more or less what I had figured out. I just didn't have any translation of the abilities and i wasn't sure if you could use the abilities more than once. Someone should write it up all neatly and put up a PDF, mybe with advanced rules we can agree on added in to make a more strategic game.

I don't think Mirror should be allowed to reflect other Magic Lot effects, it just gets confusing and doesn't add much to the game, basically Mirror should only be available if you roll Magic Lot dice first, that way your opponent HAS to respond to Mirror, because modifying your number or his won't actually have any effect. I do agree that Break should be applicable to every Magic Lot dice, and thus, can only be played if you roll magic lot second.

Personally I would make Ability reolution based on Magic Lot total, that way the weaker guys with high Magic Lot could have an edge. In case of tie of Magic Lot number resolve the ability of whoever rolled highest first. Or we could decode the hexagon rating for speed and go for that :p

Other rules I'd suggest for deeper gameplay:

-Only the defending Beast can be discarded when defeated, unless the defender pulls off an Hissatsu (Emblem) attack or both players are down to one Beast. When the attacker is defeated it cannot be used for defense if the player has another Beast.

-To make the game last longer, we could have the shield be used as a hit point. You must decide if you sacrifice your shield BEFORE rolling Magic Lot.

-When attacking with a Beast equipped with a melee weapons, the defender chooses who intercepts the attack. When attacking with a Beast equipped with a ranged weapon it is the attacker who decides the target of the attack.

I don't know, I don't like devating too much from the official rules, of course how much is too much is up to each individual person.

As far as mirror goes, it's super powerful as it is. It reflects everything, and has 3/6 and 4/6 while the Break (the thing that defeats Mirror) is only 1/6 and 2/6.

I think what I want to do with that one is just make it Defend. Instead of reflecting it simply protects against all attacks, except Break. It like this more because it says "okay you can't win this battle, but the only way you lose is if your opponent succeeds in using a Break". That is the only situation I think a draw is okay, because it still costs the person an extra Magic Lot to use.

For the rest of the stuff it sounds fine, but what I would do is have a thread with the official rules per exactly what Takara says, and then beyond that let people make up their own house rules.

Well, Takara wise, Mirror seems intended to be used only to reflect the Deadly Attack, if we go for that then having it in your Magic Lot pool is an opportunity cost thing, because it's possible the possibility to use it might never come up, and I'm perfectly fine with it being that way, I was just suggesting variation on what you said. Break seems intended to be used only to defeat mirror, which I think is just way too weak and makes using one in your Magic Lot even worse of an opportunity cost. Having it be able to be used against other Magic Lot dice would be nice, but maybe limit it to the 'effect' types and not have it affect the Boost(+3,+4 etc) dice.

I think putting up a rules thread based on the Takara version, and then use it to discuss houserules would be neat. I'm rather fond of my idea of putting those gummy weapons to some sort of use.

I think we could go back and forth on this for a while, heh. For the record here are the official definitions of Mirrors and Break:
ミラー (3/6)
 相手ã￾®å¿…殺技をã￾￾ã￾®ã￾¾ã￾¾ç›¸æ‰‹ã￾«è¿”ã￾™ã￾“ã￾¨ã￾Œã￾§ã￾￾る。
Mirror (3/6)
I can return to the other party as the deadly attack of the other party.

ブレイク (1/6)
 相手ã￾®ãƒžã‚¸ãƒƒã‚¯ãƒãƒƒãƒˆã￾®åŠ¹æžœã‚’打ã￾¡æ¶ˆã￾™ã€‚
Break (1/6)
Cancel the effect of the opponent's magic lot.

So, Mirror should only be used to send Emblem attacks back at your opponent, however Break can be used against all Magic Lots. That's just my interpretation.

I agree with this interpretation. It makes Mirror a case of opportunity, it's really good when the opponent has an emblem but otherwise it's useless (Change and Reverse are actually more versatile Mirror as Deadly Attack counters, but for that versatility they trade in a chance of going off, I like it), and Break, while difficult to pull off, is more generally useful.

Am I the only one who doesn't get the point of Doping? Shouldn't a Lv2 +3 or +4 be better in almost all situation? The only way to make Doping useful is to sacrifice those Mirrors you aren't using! Or by using the Beasts with special ability that can recycle Magic Lot dice (Wolfen Doping deck??)

I think Doping you kinda would need to build your team around. I could see this team working:
Bill Sword: Magic Lot you use this turn are not discarded
Rainbow Sam: If you roll a [3] this turn, switch results with your opponent
Wolfen: If you are the final Beast, return all used magic lot from the discard area

So you Have Bill Sword (Magic Lot 3), who if you use Doping will not sacrifice any dice, Rainbow Sam because his magic lot is 5 and his power is actually really powerful (4/6 chance he will roll a 3) and Wolfen who you use Last to return all your magic lot, so you have 9 Magic Lot, and can use doping basically every turn for +8. You can also use Sealence whose ability is: Return 3 Magic Lot from the discad area. Or Owlmyty whose ability is: You are able to use your allies abilities to mimic Bill Swords ability.

I don't think Bill Sword's ability would work on the cost of Doping, it would only prevent you from discarding Doping itself.

It's ridiculous the paint apps are not at least equal to their smaller counter parts.

Hrm, yeah I'm not too impressed at all now that I've seen the comparative pics. They look significantly less detailed and kinda dopey; arms look a little oddly proportioned or something?

Also, noticed on Amazon that the Walrus is already sold out?

Already? Glad I got a preorder in... Is the Gorilla, one of the few sold outs at BBTS, also sold out in Japan? I've seen comparative pictures of Beast Saga display that were full in the morning and empty at closing time, guess the line is a success.

Me too. I have collected so many different little figure toylines that have been cancelled too quickly, that if I wanted one to really succeed and take off, it has to be the rejuvenation of the Battle Beast line. There are so many different animals that I still want to see. Heck, I would even like to see different characters based off the same animal. There's got to be more than one Lion and Eagle on the planet, right? And its so encouraging to hear it selling so well over in Japan. Hopefully that means the toyline can keep going for a while. Maybe that will mean Hasbro more and more will have interest in bringing it over to the states.

Whatever the case is, I think that we will easily see this line eclipse the number of original Battle Beast/Laser Beast figures, easily. I think we are already half way there from all the figures we have gotten or seen already.

I got my two booster from volume two, and just like with volume 1 I got twice the same figure -.- in this case the Tiger. This is really annoying... BBTS is obviously just picking up the boxes in order from the case, but those blind box cases aren't random! They got a clear pattern.

Some pictorials of the next wave of figures are showing up in Japan. This Blog has pictures of Orga and Seylas (the walrus) up. I like the look of Orga's face, he looks less crazy with the larger eyes, and Seylas looks awesome, with his aqua jets and rebreather. I really like the Sea Tribe's over all armor style, and this guy is no exception.

I just received my notice from BBTS that my Sofubis are in, as well as my lioness, bull, walrus, and Mecha-whale. What's the deal with the kangaroo? Still no sign of him showing up. BBTS still has him listed as a preorder for January 2013. Anybody have any info on the kangaroo?

He was definatly released in Japan at retail, there may have been some issues with shipping them to the US on Takara's end. TFsource told me they were hoping to have him in with this month's shipment, so we'll see I guess? If he doesn't show up we may be able to get him through amazon maybe

Have to say that I really love the gumball figures. I like that the figures are different enough from the regular figures for me to pose action shots with them. Thanks to the awesome Saleen for supplying the gumballs!
Please excuse the quality of the photos. I was using my camera phone to have fun with them, so they are pixelated and grainy.

I would love to know where the guy who runs that blog got those plastic "special effect" elements, like the water, fire, electricity, energy, some blood spatter. Really cool stuff that I'm sure is a Japan-only item. Anyone with info on how to pick any of these up or what they would even be called so I at least could use a keyword? ;)

Effect parts are usually included with bigger articulated toys. Stuff like Revoltech, Figma or the Tamashi Nation lines.

For exemple Metabee got his shooting effect part and I got a pair of 'Boost' effect parts as a promo when I pre-ordered Super Robot Chogokin Dekaranger Robo.

And I recognize the Fourze Effect Part set in one of his pictures. He's just got a lot of those toys so he must have a good collection of effect parts to use.

What I wonder about, is why or where the guy gets those naked teenage anime dolls? Creepy as sh*t that he not only buys those, but poses them in slutty ways too. I guess it's a Japanese thing.
