It does look like Checkmate, between the cape and the wrist guard that's shown...I figure he's next in line for the 'favorite character poll' that Frobman mentioned as #9.

Whether he has his face back on? Weeeell, I hope so, or else that tour bus is gonna freak out. xD

Yude isn't killing off any good characters, he just likes pissing off the fans and bringing them back so they can relax and re-enjoy the anime/manga... then the whole damn thing starts all over again.

Watch when they come back, Dik Dik's gonna wonder what the hell happened with reality while they were gone.

He was there in the earlier chapters (when they were finding out WTH was going on, building the ship), but he didn't wind up going with them to the past.

The last time I saw him in the book was as Meat was looking for volunteers for the mission to the past (see page 179 of Vol.1 of Drax's rar. files. ;D), and then on page 193 in lugging Mantaro's luggage. After that, POOF went teh Gaz-Man.

Alas, I fear Gazelleman may become Nisei's version of Canadianman/Specialman, and just be in the background for scenes often. D:


....unless, by some BIZZARRE twist, Yude made him the 2nd stowaway and he's one of the Hell's Bear's. I mean, his Antler Fist is fairly similar to Warsman's Bear Claw....and I'm grasping at straws here. XD;;;

I hope he's not just an extra. Look how far he's come with the rest of the gang. He's NOT background character material. His personality is HILARIOUS. The por guy needs just a little more of the spotlight.

I hope he still stays as one of the main characters when our heroes return to the present. ;__;

I think that it's a poorishly drawn way of him stepping OVER Jade... maybe Yude's trying to lighten the moment by making readers laugh at things like that?
